9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I would very much like 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 if two, three, or four 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 would get up and tell me 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 what exactly they want 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 out of this seminar. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I rather expected this. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, my teaching is really based 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 on three very simple assumptions. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The first assumption is 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that the totality [br]of manifestation 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 has come from the Source. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The Source is only One. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, in creating [br]the manifestation, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the Source could not [br]possibly have taken 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 any other material[br]from anywhere 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to produce[br]the manifestation. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So it must have [br]been produced 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 out of Itself. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, strictly therefore, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 if the Source has [br]produced the manifestation, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 if the Consciousness 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 unmanifest [br]has become manifested, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 if the potential energy[br]has become activized, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they are not two. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It is the same Consciousness 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 which was unmanifest 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 has become manifest. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Which is precisely[br]what Buddha meant 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 when he said: 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Nirvana and Samsara[br]are one, not two. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Nirvana in action[br]is Samsara. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 When Samsara [br]is not in action 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 it is Nirvana. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They are not two.[br]Basically, that is the point. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They are not two. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And the human being 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 is part of that manifestation. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And what is the manifestation? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Totality of objects. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The totality of manifestation[br]is the totality of objects. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Which means, [br]according to me, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the human being[br]is an object. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The rock is an object, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the animal is an object. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the human being[br]is an object 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 with different [br]characteristics. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The rock has no senses,[br] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 therefore the rock[br]does not need sensions 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 or consciousness[br]for the senses to work. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The animal has senses,[br]therefore it has sensions 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 which enables [br]the senses to work. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But both the rock[br]and the animal 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 are objects in the totality[br]of objects in the manifestation. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The human being,[br]similarly, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 is an object, [br]like the rock or the animal, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 with the same sensions[br]as the animal has, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 which enables [br]the human being 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to live his life[br]and for the senses to work. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The second thing [br]that my assumption is based on 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 is the statement of[br]Lord Buddha. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "In life, events happen,[br]deeds are done, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 but there is no individual[br]doer thereof". 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The events and the deeds[br]are actions which happen 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 through any body-mind[br]organisms 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 or all body-mind[br]organisms 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 together constitute[br]the functioning 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of that manifestation. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 There is no individual[br]doer thereof. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 That is precisely[br]what Lord Krishna meant, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 which is my third[br]assumption. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lord Krishna, [br]in the Bhagavad Gita, says: 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "You cannot commit a sin, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 you cannot commit[br]a meritorious deed, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 you think in terms of sins[br]and meritorious deeds 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 because your knowledge[br]of your true nature 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 is clouded or enveloped[br]by ignorance." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The word used is[br]"ignorance". 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And the ignorance[br]that is referred to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in the Bhagavad Gita 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 is what we in modern times[br]use as the word "ego", 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 which is the basic problem[br]of the seeking. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Most teachings[br]start with 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the basic that it is your ego 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 which is the cause[br]of all your suffering. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It is the ego which is[br]the cause of your suffering. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Therefore, you must[br]kill the ego. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And in order to kill[br]the ego, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 various prescriptions[br]are given. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So my question[br]therefore is: 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 if the human being[br]is merely a created object 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 which is part of [br]the totality of manifestation, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 where did this sense[br]of individuality, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 this ego, which is[br]supposed to be destroyed, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 where did it come from? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Where could it have come from 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 except from the Source. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, my concept is 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that it is the same Source[br]which created the rock 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and the animal [br]with sensions, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and the human being 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 with sensions and intellect 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 which created the ego. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 In fact, my concept is 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that the thinking mind, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the intellect, the "me", 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and the ego are names[br]for the same thing. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The intellect which considers 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 oneself as an individual 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 with a sense of personal doership 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "I" do things, which is the ego. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So the "me" 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to whom a prescription is given 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to kill the ego 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 is the same thing. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I repeat: 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 you, to whom the prescriptions 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 are given, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to kill the ego 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 are not two. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So how can the ego 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 kill itself? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The ego cannot kill itself. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Therefore, my basic concept is 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that only that power, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the Source, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 which created the ego 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 can remove the ego 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and that is precisely 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 what the source is doing.
