Sahaja Glimpses
January 2025
(with subtitles)
[Mooji] We will walk with God.
And that's walking in faith, in trust.
For without faith it's fruitless.
Our faith in God is a power
that is not born just through a person.
So, let's move in what we have chosen
in the heart.
Let's put our attention
in the heart of the universe.
Hey, good good.
Hello. Hey, hey. [laughs]
Excuse me.
Very important satsang is coming up.
[laughter]
We'll hold it. [the motorcycle]
What do you have?
[M.] Look at that! What is this?
It's a weapon!
[F.1] I was thinking of buying a zucchini,
but they are too big.
[Mooji] It's a weapon.
[F.2] Smaller ones are on the other side.
[Mooji] It's very nice!
Wow! [Mooji taps the zucchini]
We can even eat them.
Somebody can carry one, one.
[M.] Thank you. Have a beautiful day.
[F.2] Thank you. You too.
[M.] Thank you, brother.
[F.2] Thank all of you.
[M.] Great, very great.
[F.2] Maybe I catch you on the way back.
[Mooji] We give you a push start. Go on.
[F.2] Ciao. Thank you.
I have to go slowly.
[M.] My uncle and my brother
grew up in the country,
they take stuff from the soil,
they do this [wipe] and eat.
[F.3] It's actually a very good way to eat.
[F.1] It's almost certainly organic.
[F.4] Everything grows organically
around here.
[F.1] Some more?
[M.] Hmm!
[M.] I didn't want to say
I don't want to share it. [eats a tomato]
[F.1] We could do with these.
[F.5] Thank God that
nothing works without God.
[Mooji] Haha! What a statement!
Thank God that nothing works without God.
[Friend 6] Hallelujah.
[Mooji] Hallelujah. Alhamdulillah.
All this Earth, all this play,
human beings going up and down, all of it,
I'm going to tell you a secret.
It's not true.
It's only dreaming.
But we are so invested in the dream,
we cannot see the unreality of it yet.
As you begin to stay here, you resolve,
we may call it recede, revert,
back to your original nature
which is here, it's always here.
That's all. That's all! In one sentence.
By observing the mind,
you automatically revert to the heart.
That's it! Game up!
Game up doesn't mean the end of joy.
It is the freedom of joy. You see?
To overcome one's own ego
is to overcome the world. ~ Mooji
Market day in the local village
[Mooji] Yeah, I want to try this one.
[Seller] It's ten euros.
[Mooji sits on the chair]
[Friend] This is a Portuguese saint.
[Mooji] I wonder who this is?
[Friend] Santa Portugesa?
[Seller] Si.
[Friend] Some Portuguese saints.
[Mooji rings a bell]
OK, do you know what that means?
[Mooji rings the bell again]
Everybody now be in this place.
And don't leave!
[laughter]
Can I leave it here?
You are in the right place,
at the right time, in the right form,
the right opportunity,
right here and now,
to awaken to the eternal. ~ Mooji
Spontaneous satsang at Meki's Chai stall
Before we came here,
I was coming from Sahaja,
there were a few of us in the van together,
and just before I came on the road,
we stopped.
And I said, Now, before we go anywhere,
empty your mind for one minute.
Can anybody hear that?
Empty your mind for one minute.
And then what happened?
For one minute everybody sits in the van.
I said, Can you succeed?
What did you find?
[sound of frying]
Fried sausages.
[sound of frying]
Thoughts and energy.
Just one minute, I ask you,
look and you'll see this.
Do you know what this means?
This is the background
to what's going on in your life
all the time.
That noise. [sound of frying]
I say, can you detach from this?
You find you're not able to detach from it.
Why? Because you don't practise it.
So this [points to the head]
didn't ask you, 'Can I stay?'
Do you understand?
This [sound of frying].
This, trying to ...
did not ask your permission to be there.
OK?
So if this is underneath your thinking,
and all of this
are all your thoughts and feelings,
your memory, your desire, your identities,
all this [sound of frying] ...
So I asked everyone in the car,
Stop and be aware.
Don't identify. Don't log into that.
Just be aware of it for one minute.
Do you know that anybody can do it?
No. Because it's there.
But what was the purpose of the exercise?
To show you what is behind here in your day.
You see friends, 'Hi darling, how are you?
Nice to see you.'
This [sound of frying].
You're not available even to your own self.
So the Just Be exercise
is to exorcise that energy out of you
so that you can feel
your natural presence, God in you.
Because this [sound of frying]
is kind of ...
It will show you this, 'Have this!',
'Go and meet this one!', 'Do this!'
But for you to be behind here,
you need to be able to follow through.
Because something wants to
keep you in this world. [points to the head]
Not the Earth, the Earth is innocent.
In here. [points to the head]
That's what my teachings
have come to with you.
Who will follow?
Who will follow this one?
[Friend] I feel you just ...
Grace picked me up again.
I feel now is the time for
just deepening in your presence,
in any way possible, I appreciate it.
[M.] We are good then.
[Mooji] Do you want to get
some of those cherries?
[Friend] Thank you, Guruji.
[Mooji] Love you, love you.
See you later.
[Mooji] Hey, Jah pirate!
How are you doing? Good?
[Friend] I got my Alantejan look.
[Mooji] Whoo! Watch out!
[Friend] I'm blending in.
[Mooji] See you soon, yeah?
The elderly home in the village
receives love and support
from Moojibaba and the team
[music]
[Friend] What are we picking up, Guruji?
[Mooji] I thought they are lacking
some chairs outside.
The chairs that they have are a bit weak.
So I thought if we have the red ones,
I don't know if we have them,
we can give some to them.
[music]
[playing music and singing with the residents]
Portraits for the residents
[applause and clapping]
Awareness cannot leave you.
Everything else will leave you,
but Awareness is what you are.
~ Mooji
Moojibaba often walks down
to the Little Jamaica for a "coffee"
[Moojii] Hey, how are you doing?
[Boy] Good.
[Boy] A rubberband.
[Mooji] Oooh, ooh!
[M.] Rubberband.
[Boy] Hi, Guruji.
[Mooji] Hi, how are you doing?
Love to see you. Love you.
[Boy] I love you.
[Mooji] I love you too.
[Mooji] Look at this, though.
I mean, what's going on here?
[F.] You don't see the other items, Guruji.
[M.] Does that give
a good impression of Sahaja?
We spend our days in bed,
even when the guests come.
[laughter]
No judgement, no judgement.
Pure light, pure light has no colour.
It touches a prism and it manifests
into a rainbow of different effects.
I'm going to use this metaphor.
The pure light cannot be seen.
But when it hits a prism ...
Do you know a prism?
Like say, for instance, it may look like a ...
Do you know what a prism is?
Then it [indicates bursting].
Not before the prism.
But hitting the prism,
it manifests into lots of colours.
Now, all these colours
have their source in the colourless light,
don't they? OK?
Let's call this colourless light consciousness.
Let's call the prism the mind and the body.
The light goes through there.
It manifests as variation, variety.
Can you imagine now
all the differences in the world
are coming through the prism of the mind?
And now you can have judgements.
The red is fighting against the green
and the green is not happy
with the yellow and da da da da.
So in a sense,
it's a simple example, a good one.
What does spirituality mean?
It's as though, somehow,
through the human instrument,
the rainbow of differences
has managed to reverse back
to the source light.
Do you understand?
It doesn't identify, 'I'm blue', 'I'm green'.
It says,
'These don't pertain to what I am, actually.
Why? Because I have returned
through contemplation
to my original light,
the light of consciousness.' OK?
That's the first great step.
From the light of consciousness
you can see all the rainbows,
but at the same time, it's not affected here.
[touches the heart]
Who has come to that space?
Then, beyond even this,
the light must come from somewhere.
So even this light,
which is called consciousness,
it itself comes from somewhere,
somewhere beyond the range of the senses.
What is it?
And that 'somewhere-ness'
is in the heart of every living being.
Your pure nature, here [touches heart],
you must realise.
You are the light of consciousness
and also the very witness to this light.
You are timeless Awareness. ~ Mooji
Our dear Shree went to the United States
to visit her family.
Meanwhile in Monte Sahaja,
the team is preparing a surprise for her.
Shree's hut and garden
are getting a surprise make-over.
[F. 1] How is it going, Guruji?
[M.] It's going real fine.
[F. 1] Do you want to say something to Shree?
She won't see it before.
[M.] I hope you're going to be very happy.
Anyway, you've got a lot of beautiful
Sahaja hearts coming together,
working to make this place
more comfortable for you.
And there's so much love.
And we love, we love, we love you.
So this is just an expression of that love.
And I hope you love it too.
So, yes, lots of people coming in and out,
but some regulars are here all days.
[Lakshmi] Do you know
what everyone was saying?
We were all here, the painters,
we were saying,
'It's so nice to do something for Shree,
as she is always doing everything
for all of us'.
[M.] That's right.
We're just saying that coming in.
'It's nice to do something for Shree
as she's doing something for everybody.
She doesn't have time
to do things for herself.'
So we want to try to make it
as nice as we can.
[F. 1] Babaji just built this railing,
Guruji and Babaki.
[Mooji] Too low. Take it up.
[F.2] Is this roof new?
[M.] Yes. This one and that one.
[F.2] Is it also new?
[F.2] She's gonna love that.
Very protective then.
[Mooji] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[Mooji] Listen.
You've got light on your path also, now.
[Mooji] Yep!
[Shree] Oh my God!
Oh my God!
[Mooji] It's nice.
[Shree] Wow. Oh my gosh! Ooh!
[Mooji] Yes. Go, go. We're also enjoying.
[Mooji] Ha, ha, ha, ha!
It's very nice, look,
I didn't see this picture.
Somebody's done that picture just now.
Who has done this?
[Friend] Pranjali.
[M.] Oh gosh!
We just want to know if you like it.
That's the thing.
You can try your chair, please. Go on.
You've got to try your chair. Nice one?
You've got your shoes on, that's OK.
[Shree] Wow!
[M.] Everybody came out and said,
'We've got to take care of that girl'.
[Shree] Wow! I just never had time
to come and do the ...
[Group] That's why we came here.
[Shree] Wow!
[M.] Sorry, we sent you to America, babes.
[laughter]
[Mooji] No, no, no. Go on. Yeah.
You have a light here. Yeah, yeah. [laughs]
[Shree laughs]
[Mooji] You've got running water.
You've got water there.
You've got your stuff here.
[Shree] Actually, it's too good! Honestly.
[Mooji] Everyone had fun, fun, fun.
And actually,
I invited them all out this evening
to have a meal at Casa at seven o'clock.
[Shree] Yeah?
[Mooji] You're invited also. [laughter]
[Shree] Guruji, oh, my gosh!
Casa Nirvana Restaurant
is a community and heart centre in the village
'Out of many, one people'
[Mooji] It's even in things like this
that I see satsang alive.
It's not only in being able to share
very high things, great knowledge,
but simple things, and the response.
'Guys, we need some help to do this.'
It just came, you know.
Even the guys with the electricity,
at the last minute,
'Can you come and do it?'
They came late in the night.
If you move with integrity,
somehow the spirit responds to it.
Amazing thing!
Life could be so simple and so beautiful.
It wants to be,
life wants to be harmonious.
But your mind, woah!
Too much conditioning and habits.
And, you know, it should not be special.
But it seems special now
because it seems rare.
Nobody's going, 'Ah! So unusual!'
No, it's just a natural thing.
But we have to relearn it.
At some point you come to see
what a great life has been offered to you.
And, hopefully, you take that opportunity.
[Mooji] Very good. Thank you, guys.
I want to tell you what happened.
The other day when we met
I went into the kitchen.
An auspicious meeting
with the Casa Nirvana team
I said, Ah! Then I realised
that outside here,
there are lots of images of the saints
and they bless the place,
they're all looking into the space.
But in the kitchen there was nobody.
Just kitchen working,
which is very nice anyway.
It felt it was important for me
to bring the presence
and the blessing and the darshan of God
in the kitchen.
So we prepared, we came,
and we put it everywhere.
And I want to tell you what happened.
[Mooji] Om Namah Shivaya
Om Namah Shivaya
Om Namah Shivaya
Om Namah Shivaya
Om Namah Shivaya
Om Namah Shivaya
Om Namah Shivaya
Shiva Om Namah
Om Namah Shivaya
Om Namah Shivaya
Om Namah Shivaya
Om Namah Shivaya
Om Namah Shivaya
Om Namah Shivaya
Om Namah Shivaya
Shiva Om Namah
Om Namah Shivaya
Om Namah Shivaya
Om Namah Shivaya
Om Namah Shivaya
Om Namah Shivaya
Om Namah Shivaya
Om Namah Shivaya
Shiva Om Namah
[Mooji] Is that good?
[Friend] It's so good!
[Mooji] We were working away, like that,
and as I came just through here,
in this place here,
the power of the darshan of God
was, 'Whoof!' Like this!
Whoa! I felt like
I had to step aside for a little bit
because I felt so flooded
with this Grace that is there.
And so, I want to tell you that
today this darshan
came here so powerfully
that the spirit of truth,
the darshan of God
and all the saints, all the sages
have come alive in this place,
even more than before.
And may that continue to pervade
the presence and the heart of everyone here,
all the people who come to visit Casa Nirvana,
and that this force will continue
to radiate from this place.
Thank you, thank you. Om Nama Shivaya.
Jai Papaji. Jai Sri Ramana.
Jai Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj.
Jai Sri Yogi Ramsuratkumar. Jai Sri Christ.
We pray to all the saints
and the holy prophets and sages of God.
Om Namah Shivaya. Thank you.
Bless you, bless you, bless you, bless you.
[F.] Thank you so much, Guruji.
I am the form and the formless.
Though time-bound is my form,
myself am the eternal. ~ Mooji
Church Fundraiser
with music and tasty treats
from the local community
[Mooji sings] A little more oil in my lamp,
I pray.
A little more oil ...
[Mooji waves to the people]
[Mooji] Thank you, guys. See you soon.
[Mooji sings] A little more oil in my lamp
to keep it burning.
Keep it burning till the break of day.
Nobody explained that.
But now I can say something.
What is a little more oil in my lamp?
A little more wisdom, a little more guidance,
so that I can ...
Keep putting a little more oil in my lamp,
in my mind, in my soul -
to keep it burning, to keep it growing.
[Mooji sings] A little more oil in my lamp,
I pray.
A little more oil in my lamp
to keep it burning,
keep it burning till the break of day.
Meaning, keep the lamp burning
until the real light comes.
Nobody explained that.
I never heard anyone explain it.
But as you grow up you realise
what these songs mean.
We all sang it as children,
or when I went to the Sunday school.
[Mooji sings] A little more oil in my lamp
to keep it burning.
A little more oil in my lamp, I pray.
[Mooji claps]
A little more oil in my lamp
to keep it burning,
Keep it burning till the break of day.
Hallelujah!
When you are empty,
love shines unimpeded.
Empty the house of you
and you will find God living here. ~ Mooji
Present Day in Monte Sahaja
Mooji and the team are watching videos
from the early days
[M.] That's inside the library.
I said, actually...
I was up this hill and I said,
We're here now
and maybe people will one day come here
and meet me, we'll have satsang here.
But if they don't come,
we sit underneath this moon. [laughter]
We never see the skies like this.
Zenji was here, Omkara,
quite a few, we're just all here.
Humble beginnings at Monte Sahaja in 2011
[Friend] [laughs] I'm filming you.
Chinese mornings
is how Guruji calls the misty mornings
[Friend] Is this a Chinese morning?
A Chinese morning you called it once.
[M.] A Chinese morning, yes.
Chai Making in the first kitchen
[Friend] Guruji is making tea in our kitchen.
In this life you must walk in the external
but abide in the internal
and thus become established
in and as—the Eternal. ~ Mooji
Online Satsang
with Sahaja Express participants
Sangha photoshoot
for the Monte Sahaja Christmas card
An unexpected arrival
during lunchtime in the tearoom
[Mooji] Did you know about this?
Jeavon
Moojibaba's son
[Mooji] Who knew about this?
[laughter]
[M.] Where was he hiding?
[Jeavon] In the storage.
[Friend] In the tent, really.
[laughter]
[Mooji] There's just a feeling arising,
now is the time to slow down.
Everyone slow down. And deepen. Mature.
I'm not asking the person,
You must mature.
But if you slow down with me,
maturity will come.
It's time. And it's a beautiful time.
It's a beautiful time.
God is taking care of all things
and that's the message I have for you today.
Slow down. Come.
And, of course, you will feel the racy mind,
the energy, the breathlessness
that comes with the aspiring soul,
because some tension comes
and some haste comes.
I say don't worry, leave it with me.
Leave it also with God.
And just put your heart,
your heart's yearning, your intention,
put your intention here.
Everything will be just fine.
Everything is just ... It is fine.
But you'll come to see how fine it is.
Allow it.
Bless you, bless you, bless you.
That's OK.
Your power is in inner solitude.
In your inner aloneness
the Lord is revealed. ~ Mooji
A powerful season of satsangs
is unfolding in Little Jamaica
[M.] In the early days of sharing satsang
I'd tell illustrations and stories.
People laughed at them
and we talked about this.
But as time went on,
it became more and more slim,
slimmer and slimmer,
less stories, less reports, less ...
To now, where we've taken away the feathers,
we've taken away the bones,
we've thrown out other things.
Only the pure is here.
[Friend] I come to meet you as I am.
[Mooji] I come to meet you as I am.
What is 'I am' and is 'I am' alive in you?
What is the biggest truth of you?
When we say reverse, don't touch anything,
don't combine your sense of self
with any action or thought
or image or intention,
so just be a witness, we are reversing.
We are coming to the place of witnessing,
not of participating,
just seeing, that as far as we can respond
to reversing,
come back, come back.
Come back means take nothing with you.
As I am speaking, this must be true.
It's not homework for later.
Reverse back and take nothing with you.
Meaning, no identity,
no object to be possessed,
no learning,
no association with anything at all.
If that is done, are you still?
This place, can it ever be 'was'?
Is it located in time and space?
Does it have beginning or birth?
Does it have any proportions?
Does it have size, this 'I am'?
[Mooji] Answer.
[Group] No.
[Mooji] Is it merely an answer or realisation?
Does it exist
or is it coming soon into existence?
Is it not from here that everything
that appears in the mind,
gross or subtle, is perceived?
And yet, it remains unaffected.
That is the Self.
We cannot come even to the beginning
of the greatness of God.
I speak about God, I'm not holding God
to some shape or a figure.
Universal consciousness, the Supreme Being,
none can exist without Him.
We say God is everywhere,
but He will only enter the heart
that welcomes Him.
It's like some kind of paradox,
He is everywhere
but He will only enter the house
where He is welcomed.
Like that.
Om, Hallelujah, Alhamdulillah, Amen.
I am nothing and I am everywhere.
Come and find me. ~ Mooji
