9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Jake: Welcome everybody. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, I'm really excited [br]you're all here today. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Tori and I are going to be,[br]co-facilitating this group and, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I just hope it's a place, that's safe for[br]all of us to come, gather, and kind of 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 just share experiences, so I just really[br]hope you're, excited to be here, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 as excited as Tori and I are, and, we[br]have a good time. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, just to start off. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Uh, I just want to tell you the purpose[br]of our group. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Basically, our purpose is to equip and[br]empower all of us. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Uh, you're all students, and we're going to[br]equip you all to empower and deal with your- 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 empower you, to deal with your stress. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Um, in some really practical ways. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And just to start off, like I said this is[br]a safe place, so we're just going to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 kind of talk about confidentiality[br]for a second. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And confidentiality is basically, just[br]where, what kind of happens in this room 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 stays in this room. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 This is a safe place, like I said. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 This is a place where we can all just[br]kind of gather. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Kind of share our different, struggles, [br]and concerns, fears, worries, and, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 kind of just talk about it. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And, it's not going to leave this place, so. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I encourage you all to not tell anybody [br]about what you talk about in this place. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Not gossip about each other, and we're[br]not going to be telling anybody 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 about what you guys talk about in this[br]space as well. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Uh, with that being said though, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 obviously if somebody mentions something[br]about hurting themselves or hurting others 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 or any kind of ideas around possibly[br]doing that, that's kind of where we 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 talk to our supervisors and just make sure[br]that everybody's safe. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And, that everything is good, and we're[br]kind of growing and progressing in that. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, that's just kind of what this groups[br]about, we're just going to be dealing with 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 our stress, and me helping you along[br]the ways, so. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Glad you're here. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Tori: So, with that I want to open it[br]up to the group, what are some rules 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 or some guidelines that you'd like[br]all of us to follow. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I know for me personally, like Jake was[br]talking about, like I don't want what I 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 talk about here to go outside of this room. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, let's just think of a few, um, [br]guidelines, or common rules that are some 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 things we want to guide our group through[br]this time. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Does anybody want to start? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Alison: Um, I think that, respect should[br]really be a big point. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Because I don't want to be made fun of[br]if somebody handles something a little 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 bit better than I have been handling it. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Tori: And your name was? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Allison: Allison. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Tori: Allison, thank you Allison,[br]thank you for sharing. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Shannon: Um, I think that, we should[br]all, come like, frequently to group. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I don't think we should skip out[br]if that makes sense. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Tori: So, attendance is mandatory[br]in class, okay. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Jake: That's a really good one. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Tori: Does that sound good to everybody? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And your name was? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Shannon: Shannon. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Tori: Shannon and Allison. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lea: And I'm Lea, and I think you should[br]be on time because I hate when people 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 are late and they interrupt what I'm doing[br]and stuff, so. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Tori: Attendance, on time, and respect,[br]confidentiality, is there anything else 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in our group? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lea: Maybe we should have to share. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Jake: Those are good ones, yeah. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Jake: Sharings good. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Tori: Participation in all aspects. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 That's really good. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Jake: And if you don't share, [br](unintelligible) so that's good. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Tori: Even if it's just encouragement [br]that's really good. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, we're going to go ahead and let Jake[br]do our game. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Jake: So, we're going to kind of just [br]start off with a really fun icebreaker. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, we're all here because we kind of have[br]stress, and we're all dealing with stress 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in some different ways. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, we're going to do what we like to[br]call the net or network. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Um, ways to deal with stress. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Or network of strains. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And this is really fun, we're just going[br]to kind of go around. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 You can kind of popcorn however you want. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 However, we're going to use a string,[br]to make our net. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And basically you're going to share some [br]way you cope with stress, something that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 helps you destress, um, or something you[br]do to prevent stress. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And then we'll kind of take note of these [br]in our minds. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And remember some really practical ways [br]to decrease stress after kind of going 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 this point too. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And it's kind of just this really fun[br]way to get an icebreaker started. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, I'm going to kind of start. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Um, something I like to do to prevent stress,[br]especially when I was in college and stuff. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Is just to make sure that I plan ahead. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The five p's of y'know, planning ahead for[br]me are, prior planning prevents poor performance. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And I think that's just a really good way[br]to prevent stress. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, that's why, um, I'm going to throw[br]it to Allison. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And you can just again say your name[br]real quick and- 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Allison: Um, I'm Allison, um, one of the[br]things that I like to do with my friends 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 like, get off campus, and we like to go [br]off and get something to eat. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And kind of just forget about all of our[br]due assignments, and all of that. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And just kind of, take a, like a good[br]hour or so to just kind of catch up, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and actually just talk. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And have a good conversation. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Jake: That's awesome, yeah. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Tori: Thank you for sharing. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Jake: So, just throw the string, and as we[br]kind of go around 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 you'll see a net starting to form,[br]which is kind of fun. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Shannon: Okay, so, I'm Shannon again, and[br]um, kind of similar to what Allison said. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I like to go to the coffee shop[br]my roommate works at. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 'Cause it's just, easy, get some coffee, [br]do a little bit of homework, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and it's more relaxing than just sitting[br]in my room doing it. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Tori: Thanks for sharing. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [Laughter] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Shannon: Golly. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [Laughter] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lea: Um, the way that I like to destress,[br]I like to work out. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And I feel like it sends a nice release[br]and it's also healthy for me so. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Tori: Thanks for sharing. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Um, one way I like to destress is, it[br]sounds like you guys all like to go 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 somewhere, I actually like to stay home[br]in my room. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And I have Christmas lights that I like to[br]light, and light, and I call my grandma. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And just get everything off my chest,[br]'cause, yeah, just kind of talk through 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 my problems and what's going on. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Jake: Something that helps me destress[br]when I have time, maybe on like a break or 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 at the end of the semester, is just to go[br]on like a really short weekend trip or 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 something, and just kind of go on one,[br]I think that's really helpful, okay. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Shannon: Ah, okay. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Um, I like to keep a calendar. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 That helps me destress. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 If I just know everything that I have[br]going on in the near future it really 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 helps to be able, like a whiteboard that[br]we write it down, so. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lea: Um, another way I like to destress,[br]I like to talk to my mom. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Like she helps me like, I don't know, to[br]process things, and to, like, strategize, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 like what's important, and what can wait,[br]and all of that. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lexi: Having a support system, that's good. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Allison: Um, kind of piggybacking off of[br]yours and hers, I like to, uh, call my family 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 back home, 'cause I'm kind of far away. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, being able to kind of talk to them,[br]and just kind of tell them everything 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that's going on, or, not even like school[br]and stuff but just like everything that's 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 going on with life just kind of helps me[br]relax and take everything in, and just, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 y'know, take a deep breath, and realize[br]like, my mom will like let me know. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I can do this, you're fine, like just [br]settle down. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lexi: That's awesome. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Jake: Sounds like your family is a good[br]supporting element. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Allison: They are. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lexi: So, the second one is kind of like[br]Shannon said. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I like to organize everything. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, I color code everything, put it in a[br]planner, put it on sticky notes, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 tell people about it. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I have reminders, everywhere for[br]everything, so. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It helps you be very organized, so you[br]can, checklist of my friends. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Jake: So, has everybody gone twice? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Okay, this is good. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, just kind of look at the string, think[br]about all the different ways that you can 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 be thinking of, possible opportunities to [br]decrease your stress, or, just kind of 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 feel a little more relaxed this week, yeah? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lexi: Yeah, thanks for sharing guys. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Alright, so with that we're going to [br]go ahead and open it up. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Um, we're going-like we talked about,[br]we're talking about some stress. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, let's go ahead and just go around the[br]room and really open it up for some things 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that have been stressing us out this week. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Some things that have been on our mind. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Something that's weighing us down. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 As we're going through this I'm sure[br]you've thought about something that's 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 really, like, burdening you. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, let's just go ahead and open it up. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Um, I can start. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Um, we have some big assignments that[br]are coming up that are due. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, having to just sit for awhile and [br]reorganize everything. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Just kind of been stressful to see[br]how many things are on my to do 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 list, so I just sat today and reorganized[br]everything. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Put it all in my planner, color coded it,[br]made sticky notes, hole punch everything, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 put it where it goes. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, working on organization was[br]stressing me out and dealt with a little bit. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But now, just seeing how much I have to[br]do in the next few weeks is really getting to me. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, that's mine if somebody else wants[br]to share. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Allison: Um, one of my biggest things is,[br]time managment. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It's really hard, because, I'm an athlete. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, we're doing a lot of traveling, and[br]since we're a spring sport, it's um, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 it really conflicts with a lot of scheduling[br]and classes and stuff, because of the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 inclement weather like everything gets[br]rescheduled, and we're trying to put all 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 these games in a matter of like,[br]three weeks. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And, it's really stressful just, y'know[br]like I'm missing class, like I don't think 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I've been to one of my major classes in [br]like probably a month. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I haven't been there, and all of the [br]sudden I'm missing like, oh my gosh, we 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 have these assignments due, we have these[br]assignments due, and all of the sudden, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I have to make up a test that I'm going[br]to miss and I have to schedule beforehand. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And then I have another quiz, and all [br]these other papers, and it's really 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 starting to get to me, because, y'know,[br]being an athlete you have to figure out 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 how to, um, what's the word, like you have[br]to figure out how to balance everything. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, you have to like, kind of like think [br]ahead and start like, okay you're like 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 'I'm going to miss this test so I have to[br]try and make it on this day'. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Plot twist, game gets cancelled rescheduled [br]for that day, so you have to reschedule 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 something that's already rescheduled,[br]and so you end up missing that and teachers 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 kind of start, or professors start, kind[br]of getting on your case because you're 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 missing so much class, and you're not[br]turning in things in like on time. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Or you're asking for extensions, or you're[br]asking for, y'know. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And it's really starting to like, be a[br]hassle with games and everything. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Like, I'm really tired, like I really[br]don't get back to campus until, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 like, like I'm leaving at like nine in the[br]morning sometimes and I'm not getting 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 back until one am with an eight o'clock [br]class the next day. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And there's literally no time to do[br]homework, and, I'm one of those people 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that get, motion, well not motion sick,[br]if I try to read or do homework on like 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 a moving vehicle, I get like sick, and I [br]can't do it. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And I'll like, this time goes away, and I[br]come back, and I'm just too tired from 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 doing like, from moving. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I'm physically exhausted, and I think[br]I'm just really starting to get to the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 point where I'm mentally tired. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And my tolerance and everything is just[br]going downhill, from like, here on out. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And I'm like stressing out because big [br]things are being due, and I have to find 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 out literally how to do all of them in[br]a matter of days. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lexi: I'm sure we all of something that[br]can really, impact Allison, and we really 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 thank you for sharing. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Really thank you for the time that you[br]have taken out to come here with us. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 'Cause like you said your schedule is[br]so busy, so, thank you for committing to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 this time, and coming to share and[br]actually getting [unintelligible] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Does anybody else want to share? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lea: Well, this last year I had something[br]change for me personally. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Like, I, last semester I was able to see[br]completely and I didn't have any issues. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And then, like, the day after our last[br]final, I went and got a minor surgery, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and when I woke up from my surgery[br]I didn't have vision. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, like, I've been having to deal with[br]losing my vision, not working, figuring 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 out if I'll ever get my vision back. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Will this ever happen again? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And on top of that like, I've become[br]almost like a burden because like I can't 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 do a lot of things for myself, so I have[br]to depend on other people that assist me. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And that stresses me out because, I was[br]raised to be very independent. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And having to be dependent, I guess it's,[br]it's beneficial because it's teaching me 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 how to need someone, but I don't[br]like needing people. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And that's just been hard for me, now,[br]plus assignments and everything. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It's really hard because now I used to[br]be able to write a whole paper in a night. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Now I have to plan three, four, nights[br]ahead of time. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Or, like, I'm doing something on the [br]computer in class and everyone else 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 is done, and, I'm still trying to figure[br]out what link they hit. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And so, it's just really stressful, and [br]like the unknown. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And, um, and like no one's really given[br]me answers, and it's scary at the same time. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I just don't know like, where to go. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And I have some people like, 'Oh, you just[br]got to have to be faithful and stuff.' 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And it's like, I've been faithful since the[br]beginning, but how faithful do you want 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 me to be? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And, what point, do I get to where I'm[br]wrong for being frustrated, and tired 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of waiting, and, so. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It's just been hard, so it's like a[br]challenge between my faith and, it all. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, it's just hard. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lexi: Thanks for sharing. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Really appreciate you being here, and[br]sharing with everybody. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Like I said about Allison, we all have[br]something to learn from you, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and us-and you from us. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, really thank you for sharing. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 That has to be hard physically and mentally. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Like you said, dealing with your eyesight[br]being gone and having to work through 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 everything like you said, has slowed you[br]down but, knowing that your still taking 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 steps to work towards achievements, awesome, [br]we're so thankful that you're here to share with us. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Thank you. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Shannon: I think what's been like the most[br]stressful thing for me this semester is 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that I've had two close family members [br]pass away, and, um, kind of like with school 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I've been busy. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And there's always people. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Like my roommates are always there, and[br]so like, I can put it on the backburner. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Like, my grades just goes away for[br]a little bit. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And I'm really stressed out about going[br]home and dealing with it. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 'Cause I know like, I'm going to go home, [br]and I spent like, especially in the first 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 month, because I nanny, and the kids I [br]nanny are still in school. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, I don't have a lot going on the [br]first month. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And so I know I'm going to have just like[br]a lot of time to just think. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And, I'm really not looking forward to that. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And it's been stressing me out because[br]like the closer we get to finals the closer 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I get to going home. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And like, I want to go home and I want to[br]spend time with my family. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But I also would like to just not think[br]about the grief that would accompany, so. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Tori: Thank you for sharing. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 We're so thankful that you're here. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Like I said, for the both of them. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 We can learn something from you, and[br]hopefully you can learn something from us. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 We really really appreciate you. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Jake: Yeah, I mean it sounds like, obviously[br]everyone is going through a lot. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It's kind of starting to wear on people[br]and be really burdensome. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But, you guys are here. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 You guys are starting to make some[br]actual steps towards really starting to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 handle that stress and dealing with that. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So I think that's really good. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Um, it's definitely a strength to sit here. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Um, trying to make a difference. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 You're all very committed ladies. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [unintelligible] so I think that's good. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Tori: So, like we said our common theme. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Or our, pretty much our purpose for the[br]group is dealing with our stress. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And we all have stress. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, we talked about some like planner[br]organization and we talked about 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 thinking ahead, and we thought about, um,[br]the stigmas that've been put on you to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 hold you back, but dealing with the[br]planning ahead. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, a lot of it sounds like, that we have[br]in common is time management. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, kind of, like you said. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The time that you have when going back[br]home, what am I going to do with this time? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, um, that's really good for you sharing. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Thank you guys, really do appreciate it. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And I think too, Lea how she was sharing,[br]how she said she's had the time that she 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 has to think about those things. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 That, um, it does take me three days now[br]to write a one page paper instead of the one day. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, really thinking forward, and thinking[br]ahead, and how Allison has to plan for 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 'Oh, this is going to happen, or this is[br]going to come up, so I have to plan this.' 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Like, you said, rescheduling and rescheduling[br]and it's, like-like Jake said, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 it is wearing on everybody. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, being here to deal with that[br]is awesome. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And I really think one thing that sounded[br]like a common thread was, you guys can 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 chime if you want, but it really sounded[br]like time management. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And figuring out not even, it's kind of[br]like, relax time management for you, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and a little bit more for you, and even[br]heavier for you. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, like, actually thinking through like,[br]what am I going to do when I go home. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 What are some things I can do to figure[br]out. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 That's awesome that you guys are here[br]and sharing. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lea: You see that bird? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It's like a really pretty. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Shannon: Wow. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lea: And I like can't see it good[br]but like. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Shannon: The color reminds me of[br]Allison's shoes. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Allison: Dude aren't these like so cute. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Shannon: Yeah, they're so nice. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Allison: I got them from Nike the[br]other day. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Jake: That bird, I think it is actually[br]a blue jay. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Um, but, maybe we can, let's try and[br]redirect everything, let's try to stay 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 focused on our stress for awhile. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Like Tori said, time management is[br]and issue. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And I know for me, the biggest problem [br]with time management is getting things 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 tracked and, so, let's just try to[br]redirect things, um. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, like we were saying we're going to[br]talk about time management. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Tori: Does anybody want to, um, share[br]their testimony of anything, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of time management, or how something[br]that is a strength that you've done, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that can possibly benefit any of us? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Shannon: Uh, I always, at the very[br]beginning of the semester. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I go through and I take my syllabus,[br]or my syllabi? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And I write like all of the papers and[br]assignments and tests into that. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And that way like, I can open my[br]planner and like look at the next week 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and go, okay I have this paper and this[br]project due, so I need to like start 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 working on those. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And I feel like, yeah, especially for like[br]these two, they don't have, Allison's 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 schedule is like always crazy, like if she[br]had something like that she might be able 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to just look at it and be like, okay so I[br]have to figure out where to fit these 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 assignments, and yeah. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lexi: [unintelligible] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lea: Um, well, with my situation like,[br]I think it's beneficial. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Because I've always been a procrastinator,[br]so, it's teaching me now how to plan ahead 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and how to make time for things that I[br]need to be doing. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, I feel like when I get back to some[br]what normal, like, it's something that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I learned how to do, like I'll be able[br]to continue to do. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Help myself in the long run. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lexi: [unintelligible] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Allison: That kind of goes off of what[br]Sharron said. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I guess, one of the things that I've [br]learned, knowing how hectic seasons 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 can be, um, to kind of, look ahead and see[br]what's on the syllabi and kind of, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 start worrying about when it is due. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Like, am I going to be busy? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Slash how to separate that and get to[br]know in advance. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Just in case, y'know [br]things like this do happen. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lexi: Realizing that about yourself is[br]hard to admit, and we really appreciate it. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Thank you guys for all being here. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Turn to you about one more time so we[br]can, alright. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Jake: Uh, yeah, we can do that one[br]more time. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And so for this last-last one, let's[br]think of. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 We, we all kind of talked about some[br]meaningful examples. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Um, but, let's just maybe come up with[br]one more idea that we have for 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 time management that we can apply [br]to this week. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Obviously our goal is to deal with stress[br]as well in our lives. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But we can kind of partialize that and[br]break it up a little bit, and just come 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 up with maybe like one easy step[br]this week that we can try and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 decrease stress a little bit. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, we'll just go around once. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And come up with a really simple[br]plans for this week. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I'll start the web. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Um, I plan just to decrease stress this[br]week a little bit. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Um, we're all a Christian school, so for[br]me, I think spirituality is a really 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 important, and um, just kind of like[br]refocusing yourself, um, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 praying a little bit. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I know that can always just helps me,[br]feel a little bit at ease. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, [mumbling] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lexi: Um, I think one thing we all talked[br]about was working on our planners. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And kind of like Jake said too, um,[br]because I do schedule everything. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So I think um, talking about my own, uh,[br]faith, I feel like I want to start taking 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in more to what God has for my life. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And what steps I need to be taking. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, making those decisions through[br]prayerful actions and that kind of stuff, so. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Allison: Um, I think this week, I'll try[br]and work a little bit harder on using 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 my time wisely, whenever I have like[br]free time to get something done, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I can start working on it in advance to, [br]chill myself out a bit. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lea: Um, I think this week I'm going[br]to try to be more positive. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And not be stuck on the things that[br]I can't do, but look at the things I have 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 overcome and that I am able to do. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Shannon: Um, this week, since it's [br]the weather's getting nicer, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 um, I actually have a hike planned. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, like the third of the month since the[br]weathers gotten nice. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And it really relaxes me. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I just love being in nature and seeing[br]God's creation and everything. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lexi: Well we all thank you for[br]being here and sharing and opening up. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It's hard to open up, and let's just[br]remember the confidentiality. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And also let's remember the skills that[br]we learned today to get us thorugh these 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 next few weeks. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Thank you all for sharing,[br]I'll see you again. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Jake: Excited to see you guys again.
