Hello, my name is Sean Richards, 
and I work for the British Deaf Association.

I'm based in Derby.

Last year, I met with Stand Guide who 
spoke about their services in the East Midlands.

During September last year, I sign 
posted a couple of people to Stand Guide

to help themselves or their 
children to find employment.

In January this year, I received a 
wonderful video from a mother who said

that she was so pleased with how Stand Guide 
have supported their deaf customers.

They ensured that their CV’s were 
up to scratch, provided interpreters to

allow for access in their own language 
and helped them to find employment.

So far, I'm aware of 3 or 4 people who 
have successfully obtained employment

through Stand Guide and 
I'm sure that there are more.

This is really great!

I spoke to someone who got a job 
through Stand Guide to see what

their feedback was. They were nothing 
but full of praise for Stand Guide.

They said that their services were great, 
the staff were awesome and supportive,

they were understanding and encouraging 
them to find confidence in getting a job.

This is really pleasing to see that there
is support out there for the Deaf community

and Stand Guide is just one of 
the wonderful shining examples.
