This is the Heijokyu Izanaikan Museum. Your gateway to the Nara Palace Site. Exhibition Room 1 introduces the entire Nara Palace Site and some of the nice places to see. As you go on to Exhibition Room 2, you will take a timeslip back to the 8th century. You can enjoy a recreated model of the entire Nara Palace at the time . You can even see tiny little people! Exhibition Room 3 holds many hands-ons, and a structure model that shows fascinating wood working techniques. You can try on an ancient clothing, and experience being a person from the Nara period. It is easy to put on, and free of charge. Take a photo in front of the Daigokuden Hall Panel! The Nara Palace Site has many different roof tiles with such elaborate designs. You can try rubbing the design with a pencil. It would look nice if you framed it at homeļ¼ You can experience roofing techniques by laying the tiles in order. You can also try tracing Kanji characters, particularly the ones used at the time. You will find excavated items in Exhibition Room 4. The wooden items can be found incredibly well-preserved, as the underground water level is high in this site. There are so many mysterious things! The entrance fee is free.
