We deliver Discover Dance sessions on tour

it's a great way for young dancers,

families and schools to get a quick taste

of what it's like being a dancer; and also

to get the experience of dancing on a stage with us.

As part of a Discover Dance session

you get to see the Company do a sample class

either ballet or contemporary, as we would

do every day in the studio.

The young people get the chance to join

us on stage and try some of the warm up

exercises that we do.

We also teach snippets of the pieces of dance

that we tour around Wales, the UK and the world.

We then perform a short piece at the end

of the session with full lights, costume

and sound, so they get the full

NDCWales experience.

After we have performed one of our pieces

we hold a question and answer session Q &A session

where the audience can ask us anything they want like.

We get some really interesting questions

ranging from 'Who was your inspiration

when you were dancing?' to

'Have you ever fallen over on stage?'

and its really nice for the young people

to ask and discover what it's really like for dancers

and hopefully be inspired

to venture out on a dance journey themselves.

Discover Dance is a brilliant way for audience members

to experience dance in a different way,

not just a spectator but as a participant as well.
