There's a lot of beautiful fish in the sea, but this one is the ugliest. I'm Alex Farnham and this is animalist breaking news. The Blobfish was just named the world's ugliest animal by the Ugly Animal Preservation Society. This endangered species floats off the coast of Australia. It's jelly-like flesh keeps it afloat just above the ocean floor, and it's not edible. Simon Watt of the Ugly Animal Preservation Society states, "We've needed an ugly face for endangered animals, for a long time." The Blobfish beat out a bunch of endangered animals that are very ugly, and funny looking. Clearly because it's face looks like this: To find out how the public is reacting to this news, we asked a few animal lovers their opinions. (Alex Farnham): So, how do you feel about the Blobfish being named the world's ugliest animal? (PERSON A): I think that's just terrible. (PERSON B): That's a disgrace, all creatures are beautiful (Alex Farnham): I pondered the question myself: if being deemed the ugliest animal in the world is a moment of despair, or a moment of great accomplishment?
