And home to some of the countries most dangerous and violent offenders. After 5 years of negotiation and for the very first time the hospital has allowed cameras in to meet the man, who live behind these walls [screams from inside the building] [inaudible] [grunting] [slams door shut] Broadmoor's [inaudible] learning history about people being all these monsters here, basically but you can be violent but that don't mean you're a bad person because sometimes you don't, you're not intending it. Broadmoor's an institution of lot's of people But not all rapist, pedophiles or murderers There's people in there for self-harming in prison. [Music] First built is a Victorian lunatic asylum for the criminally insane. Today Braodmoor is an NHS hospital. Over its 150 year history, it's been a secretive and mysterious institution. Staff are under strict instructions not to discuss patients outside the hospital walls Many won't even admit to working here.
