a place where a pike over 16kg
have been caught

where it's full of rainbow trout

perfect food for a predator

But last time in the fall the pike
where slow and hard to catch

It almost felt like they laughed
at us from the deep

Now we're back, it's almost summer

warmer water, more activity

and a new plan

we're gonna fish both day and night

but during the middle of the day
we're gonna try and catch some rainbow

To see what the pike eat

that might only eat once a month

We've arrived here in Smedjebacken

We put my boat in the water

filled with really cool fishing gear

And in one of the calendars
there are a golden ticket

he brought Khalid with him then

But this time it was Mattias from Borås
who will bring his friend Linus

but an accident has occured

So he cannot be with us fishing today

but this time Edvin and I are alone

out on this river where
some huge pikes live

I haven't been this stoked in a long time

it's been months planning this

and now we're here and just about
to start fishing

I can see a lot of baitfish on the surface

My gut feeling is much better
than last time we where here

To reduce the risk of stepping
on all the rods

we have some new rod holders
from Q-ergo

a new company from Poland

with high quality gear

we can show you later how they work

Now we need to have our lures in
the water to catch the big fishes

My girlfriend and I designed a lot
of hot new colors in photofish

I rigged this one before

I think it will be extra hot today

a fatnose that suppose to look
like the bait fish in here

I've actually caught some fish
on it before

a perfect lure during spring

most small fishes are close to
the edges

so this one is gonna be great

I've packed my lure box with
all the hot lures

and colors that I believe
extra strong in

Tobbe start with a fatnose so
I'm gonna try a flatnose

I've caught so many big fishes on it

It has some wider profile
and more round

The lure is rigged and the rod is
in my hands

so we're gonna cover as much space
as possible

If we get a bite in one spot

But now we just need to search for them

In the fall pikes are often gathered
in a deep hole together

this is totally different when the water
Is much warmer

I think they are spread out, along the
edges and hiding

so now we're fishing a lot of area

And we probably find a pattern
on where they are

The sun decided to join us behind

It's not so great when fishing
for big pikes

During fall they often bite
during the whole day

But in the summer I think it's best to fish
in the morning and evenings

so we keep on grinding with our
lures in the water

You can find some new angles to cast

and you're not scaring the fish

when there are some really big pikes

It was super easy, the only thing I needed
was a wrench

you can angle them the way you want

The big pikes aren't that active in
the middle of the day

a good time to have a look at
all the bait fish

It's supposed to be so much
rainbow trout in here

If we can catch some bait fish
we know that the pikes have food

If we don't catch any, has the pikes
already eaten them?

day 2 gave us finally some better fish

and something happened with our confidence

we took a pause, changed focus and
managed to catch 2 rainbow trouts

we got a glimpse in to what the
pikes are hunting for right now

and sometimes it's the small details
that makes all the difference

the weather has changed slightly
and a low pressure has occured

The rain is not far away

it really feels like something is
about to go down

we decide to give it one last try

biggest fish so far

in water with strong current

It's important with good gear

I have a new rod
a Swim Buster from CWC

paired with a thick braided line
on 0,3mm

with a baitcaster called VXM300
from Kaperlan

I prefer baitcaster reels when you
fish with big lures

With a spin it's tough for
your finger to cast
