Scott Barnes' Message to Aggie Fans

  • 0:00 - 0:02
    Hello Aggie Nation,
    Scott Barnes here.
  • 0:02 - 0:06
    Wanted to just,
stay in touch with you and let you know
  • 0:06 - 0:08
how excited we are about our fall
    sports.
  • 0:08 - 0:09
They're competing at a very high level
  • 0:09 - 0:12
    in this inaugural season
    in the Mountain West.
  • 0:12 - 0:16
And thank you for your attendance
    at soccer, volleyball and football.
  • 0:16 - 0:21
    As you know, football has,
set some records in terms of season ticket
  • 0:21 - 0:26
base over 10,000 now, as well as back
to back to back, capacity crowds.
  • 0:26 - 0:28
    So, thank you for that.
  • 0:28 - 0:31
We appreciate that and are excited
    that we have some more
  • 0:31 - 0:35
    home games left in this
    fall sports season coming up.
  • 0:35 - 0:37
So we hope to see you back there.
  • 0:37 - 0:40
I'd like to take the opportunity as well
    to maybe squelch,
  • 0:40 - 0:44
a rumor or two and as well,
tell you about, some future planning.
  • 0:45 - 0:48
    There's been talk about,
    potential funding and,
  • 0:48 - 0:52
    commencement of stadium renovations
    at Romney Stadium...
  • 0:52 - 0:53
    That is not true.
  • 0:53 - 0:58
But I will tell you this,
that as we look to the future and
  • 0:58 - 1:01
look at our vision statement for football,
understanding that we want to be,
  • 1:01 - 1:04
    Uh...
at the top of the mountain West
  • 1:04 - 1:08
    and beyond,
we do need to address stadium renovations.
  • 1:08 - 1:13
At this point, what we have done
is contracted with CSL, to help us conduct
  • 1:13 - 1:19
    a feasibility study to determine
    the potential for stadium renovations.
  • 1:19 - 1:24
Part of that survey will be coming out
    November 4th.
  • 1:24 - 1:27
You'll see that, we would hope
that you would engage in that survey
  • 1:27 - 1:31
process, this, eight to ten minute survey
    that'll help us determine,
  • 1:31 - 1:35
    your preference for premium seating
    in Romney stadium.
  • 1:35 - 1:39
    This survey instrument
will be part of a larger
  • 1:39 - 1:43
market study to determine our ability
    to create a funding model,
  • 1:44 - 1:47
    for potential renovations
    at Romney Stadium.
  • 1:47 - 1:50
So I hope you'll join us.
    Again, November 4th.
  • 1:50 - 1:53
That survey, instrument will come to you
    via email.
  • 1:54 - 1:57
We're also excited about, winter sports,
    as you know,
  • 1:58 - 2:01
we will face one of the best home
    schedules in our history
  • 2:01 - 2:05
    in men's basketball, coming up,
    both non-conference and conference.
  • 2:05 - 2:06
    We're excited.
  • 2:06 - 2:08
    Season tickets still on sale.
  • 2:08 - 2:11
If you haven't, purchased yours yet,
    please do.
  • 2:12 - 2:15
Also want you to know how excited we are
    about the progress
  • 2:15 - 2:17
    of the Estes Center.
  • 2:17 - 2:21
    The Estes Center
is, on track to open in April.
  • 2:21 - 2:25
    It's a beautiful practice
venue for men and women's basketball
  • 2:25 - 2:28
    and a competitive volleyball venue.
  • 2:28 - 2:31
    Couldn't be more excited about,
what that will bring to our student
  • 2:31 - 2:33
    athletes and fans.
  • 2:33 - 2:35
Want to end this by telling you.
  • 2:35 - 2:38
Thank you for getting us to where we are.
  • 2:38 - 2:42
    You have been tremendous fans,
as shown by your attendance at our events.
  • 2:43 - 2:44
    Keep it up.
  • 2:44 - 2:46
Let's get ready for some more success.
  • 2:46 - 2:47
    Go, Aggies!
