-
Hello, I am Sean Richards (sign name),
from the BDA.
-
I'm Robin Ash from SignHealth.
It’s good to be here!
-
We previously had the AIS
Part 1 workshop at Derby Deaf Club,
-
and we're now going to have a Part 2
workshop. Robin, if you can explain why?
-
I would like to thank all of you who
attended the AIS Part 1 workshop.
-
We had interesting discussions, and I explained
about the Accessible Information Standards (AIS).
-
Unfortunately, we didn't have enough
time to talk about everything,
-
hence why we're doing a Part 2.
-
In this workshop, we are going to have the
opportunity to do a quiz to see whether
-
you can remember your
rights surrounding the AIS.
-
If you don't remember, don't worry!
I will reinforce the information for you.
-
I will then go on to explain about:
how you can record your communication needs,
-
whether it's BSL or if you need a
BSL Interpreter, how you'd prefer to
-
be contacted, how you want
to access written resources.
-
I will explain how you can notify this
information to your GP, the hospital,
-
dentist, or opticians.
-
If it is apparent that despite this
information being shared, the right support
-
isn't being provided, or you're still being
discriminated against, and you don't
-
know what to do?
-
I will explain the process of how to
complain using our SignHealth resources.
-
I'm going to share these with you and
it's so important that you come along
-
to Part 2 to have a greater
understanding around this topic.
-
It is paramount that you come along to the
Part 2 workshop to ensure everybody is
-
equipped and aware about how to complain.
We are here to support you with that,
-
so please come along to the workshop.
See you there! When is it, Sean?
-
Tuesday 25th March, 6pm-9pm.
It will be at Derby Deaf Club.
-
I am looking forward to
seeing you all there!
-
Interpreters and refreshments will be
provided for the event,
-
we hope to see the community come
along to an important topic that affects
-
their future.
-
Thank you, bye!
