moving to new york! & living alone for the first time... ㅠㅠ

  • 0:00 - 0:05
    [music]
  • 3:04 - 3:06
Okay, so I definitely need, like, a moment
  • 3:06 - 3:10
to process everything because I haven't
  • 3:10 - 3:12
had a whole lot of time to do that.
  • 3:12 - 3:15
I was so busy moving out, packing up,
  • 3:15 - 3:17
finishing up my finals, saying all my
  • 3:17 - 3:19
    goodbyes.
I'm also on like two hours of
  • 3:19 - 3:22
sleep right now and I really need to get
  • 3:22 - 3:24
    something to eat.
So I think I'm going to
  • 3:24 - 3:25
unpack a little bit, throw my sheets in
  • 3:25 - 3:28
the wash and get something to eat.
  • 3:28 - 3:30
(I'm) Definitely going to try not to take
  • 3:30 - 3:32
any naps because I want to get adjusted to
  • 3:32 - 3:35
the time difference as soon as I can.
  • 3:35 - 3:36
    [laughter]
  • 3:40 - 3:42
One of the reasons why I decided to come
  • 3:42 - 3:44
to New York for the summer, not only for
  • 3:44 - 3:46
my internship, was because I potentially
  • 3:46 - 3:49
want to move here in the future, and so I
  • 3:49 - 3:50
feel like this is kind of a good
  • 3:50 - 3:53
opportunity for me to do a trial run and
  • 3:53 - 3:56
see if I will actually like living and
  • 3:56 - 3:58
    working here.
    I'm super excited to share
  • 3:58 - 4:00
    this journey with you guys!
  • 4:30 - 4:32
Alright, so I'm finally back home.
  • 4:32 - 4:34
I'm looking real rough right now, but I
  • 4:34 - 4:35
    got some food in me.
  • 4:35 - 4:37
    Honestly, the bagel was mid.
  • 4:37 - 4:39
    I think it's because I went to, like a
  • 4:39 - 4:40
    tourist-y place.
  • 4:40 - 4:43
And I also got my sheets washed.
  • 4:43 - 4:45
It was my first time going to like, a coin
  • 4:45 - 4:48
laundromat, and I didn't know how to use
  • 4:48 - 4:49
    any of the machines, so.
  • 4:49 - 4:51
The employees were really nice, and after
  • 4:51 - 4:53
my sheets were done drying, um, I was like
  • 4:53 - 4:55
trying to take it out of the dryer, but
  • 4:55 - 4:57
then there was this lady who was next to
  • 4:57 - 5:00
me and as I was taking it out she like,
  • 5:00 - 5:02
started to grab the blanket from me.
    And I
  • 5:02 - 5:03
    was like "?"
  • 5:03 - 5:06
I don't think she spoke English, but then
  • 5:06 - 5:07
she went like this [swatting] to me.
    And
  • 5:07 - 5:10
then I realized she was trying to help me
  • 5:10 - 5:12
    fold the blanket!
    Even though she like,
  • 5:12 - 5:13
    didn't know me at all.
  • 5:13 - 5:15
And so I was like "oh, ok!"
    And so we
  • 5:15 - 5:17
just like folded all the blankets
    together
  • 5:17 - 5:19
She seemed like a mom because she was
  • 5:19 - 5:20
    folding like, kid's clothes, and
  • 5:20 - 5:22
    that was really nice!
  • 5:39 - 5:43
So I just took a very much-needed shower,
  • 5:43 - 5:47
and I'm feeling much more refreshed.
  • 5:47 - 5:49
[sigh of relief] I'm gonna do a face mask
  • 5:49 - 5:54
because my skin is so dry from the flight.
  • 5:54 - 5:57
(I'm) Surprisingly still like, not super
  • 5:57 - 5:59
tired yet, or it hasn't like, really hit
  • 5:59 - 6:02
    me.
Honestly, I don't even know how I am
  • 6:02 - 6:05
    still functioning right now.
I think I have just been like purely
  • 6:05 - 6:08
running off of adrenaline for the past
  • 6:08 - 6:09
    couple of hours.
  • 6:19 - 6:21
Honestly though, I feel like all face
  • 6:21 - 6:23
    masks kinda feel the same.
  • 6:48 - 6:50
So I ordered some cleaning supplies and a
  • 6:50 - 6:53
clothing rack off of Target because this
  • 6:53 - 6:55
room actually doesn't have a closet.
  • 6:55 - 6:57
    [music]
  • 8:27 - 8:29
    [music]
  • 8:51 - 8:53
[in meeting] Hi Abby! Good morning, how
  • 8:53 - 8:54
    are you?
  • 8:54 - 8:56
[person in meeting] I'm doing good how
  • 8:56 - 8:56
    are you?
  • 8:58 - 9:00
I just got done with my second meeting of
  • 9:00 - 9:04
    the day.
Today is a pretty meeting-heavy day. Um,
  • 9:04 - 9:06
it's all remote, so I'm still at home.
  • 9:06 - 9:08
I have two more meetings this afternoon.
  • 9:08 - 9:12
One is in an hour, and so I'm gonna eat
  • 9:12 - 9:14
lunch because I haven't eaten anything
  • 9:14 - 9:16
    yet.
I am still in my pajamas right now.
  • 9:22 - 9:24
    [music]
  • 9:57 - 9:59
[friend, Alicen] It was really fun though!
    Yes.
  • 11:23 - 11:25
[British accent] This is my dinner.
  • 11:31 - 11:34
[normal accent] Reminds me of the bean and
  • 11:34 - 11:35
cheese burritos I used to eat back in
  • 11:35 - 11:38
    like, elementary school.
    [laughter]
  • 12:04 - 12:05
    [music]
