Everlasting Benefit of Mosque Builders

  • 0:00 - 0:03
    As-Salāmu ‘alaykum wa-raḥmatu Llāhi
    wa-barakātuh.
  • 0:03 - 0:06
    A‘ūdhu bi-Llāhi mina sh-shayṭāni r-rajīm.
    Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm.
  • 0:06 - 0:09
    Aṣ-ṣalātu wa-s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā
    Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-awwalīna
  • 0:09 - 0:12
    wa-l-ākhirīn. Madad yā Rasūla Llāh,
madad yā Sādātī Aṣḥābi Rasūli Llāh,
  • 0:12 - 0:15
    madad yā Mashāyikhanā,
    dastūr Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh
  • 0:15 - 0:17
    al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistānī, Shaykh Muḥammad
    Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad.
  • 0:17 - 0:21
    Ṭarīqatuna ṣ-ṣuḥbah,
    wa-l-khayru fi l-jam’iyyah.
  • 0:23 - 0:30
There are beautiful sayings of our Holy
    Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.
  • 0:31 - 0:32
    All of them are beautiful.
  • 0:33 - 0:40
Each time, we hear some, we read some,
and some come to our minds.
  • 0:41 - 0:44
One of those beautiful sayings is:
  • 0:45 - 0:48
    Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm.
  • 0:48 - 0:53
    “Innamā ya‘muru masājida Llāhi man
    āmana bi-Llāhi wal-yawmi l-ākhir” (9:18).
  • 0:53 - 0:57
The ones who build the houses
    of Allāh ﷻ, the mosques,
  • 0:57 - 1:02
    are those who believe in
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, in the Prophet ﷺ,
  • 1:02 - 1:04
    and in the ākhirah.
  • 1:04 - 1:10
Those to whom this is granted
  • 1:11 - 1:14
    are very lucky people.
  • 1:14 - 1:20
    Their luck is that this
    good deed continues.
  • 1:20 - 1:23
It continues while they are alive,
  • 1:24 - 1:28
and remains the same until Qiyāmah.
  • 1:29 - 1:34
This is because many people built mosques.
  • 1:34 - 1:38
    A hundred years, fifty years,
  • 1:38 - 1:43
    sometimes two hundred years
    after they passed away,
  • 1:43 - 1:46
    something happened and
    the mosque was removed.
  • 1:46 - 1:49
Something else was built in its place.
  • 1:49 - 1:54
But Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla still gives them
  • 1:54 - 1:58
the same reward as when it was built.
  • 1:59 - 2:02
Therefore, building a mosque or a masjid
  • 2:02 - 2:06
    is a great blessing for
    the one who does it.
  • 2:07 - 2:09
Of course, not everyone can do it.
  • 2:09 - 2:15
The one who builds it is
a lucky servant of Allāh ﷻ.
  • 2:18 - 2:22
    Everywhere, our Ottoman ancestors,
  • 2:22 - 2:26
and those before and after them,
  • 2:27 - 2:29
have built many mosques and masjids.
  • 2:30 - 2:33
    This island of ours is
    indeed a blessed island –
  • 2:35 - 2:40
    blessed for those who
    live upon it, let’s say.
  • 2:41 - 2:46
    As our Holy Prophet ṣallá
    Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said,
  • 2:46 - 2:49
    it is Jazīratu l-Khaḍrā’ –
    the Green Island.
  • 2:49 - 2:51
It is a blessed and sacred land.
  • 2:52 - 2:56
    Countless millions have
    come and gone upon it.
  • 2:57 - 3:00
The good came, the bad came.
  • 3:01 - 3:02
    All of them left.
  • 3:03 - 3:06
    What remains are righteous deeds.
  • 3:07 - 3:10
They remain for those who performed them.
  • 3:10 - 3:16
    Otherwise, the value
    of this island lies in
  • 3:17 - 3:23
that which our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu
    ‘alayhi wa-sallam pointed to –
  • 3:27 - 3:31
those mosques, dergahs, and houses built
  • 3:31 - 3:34
    for the remembrance
    of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla.
  • 3:34 - 3:40
    By their barakah, barakah
    comes to those who visit.
  • 3:40 - 3:45
    No matter how many people
    living on it now say,
  • 3:46 - 3:49
“We believe,” or “We do not believe” –
  • 3:49 - 3:53
believe if you want, or don’t.
  • 3:53 - 3:55
    When your time comes,
  • 3:56 - 3:59
    you’ll be swept away,
and others will take your place.
  • 3:59 - 4:04
Allāh ﷻ places whomever He ﷻ wills,
and removes whomever He ﷻ wills.
  • 4:04 - 4:10
Not everyone is granted that blessing.
  • 4:11 - 4:13
Therefore, we must recognise its value.
  • 4:14 - 4:19
Our people have become deprived of this.
  • 4:21 - 4:24
They think the dunyā is something.
  • 4:24 - 4:26
The dunyā is nothing. As we said,
  • 4:27 - 4:30
    millions of people have
    come and gone here.
  • 4:30 - 4:33
    What remains are good deeds.
  • 4:34 - 4:38
    They are never lost
in the sight of Allāh ﷻ.
  • 4:38 - 4:41
In shā’a Llāh, tomorrow again –
  • 4:42 - 4:44
    near Hala Sultan in Larnaca,
  • 4:45 - 4:50
    there is a blessed mosque
from the time of the Ottomans –
  • 4:50 - 4:54
    its reopening will take place,
    in shā’a Llāh.
  • 4:55 - 4:58
Even in the days it was not used
  • 4:58 - 5:03
    Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla has granted
that reward to those who built it.
  • 5:03 - 5:07
    Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla has given
the reward for that good deed.
  • 5:07 - 5:12
May Allāh ﷻ grant all of us
  • 5:13 - 5:16
the ability to build such mosques
    and do good works.
  • 5:17 - 5:20
May they benefit people, in shā’a Llāh.
  • 5:21 - 5:23
May their barakah reach us all.
  • 5:23 - 5:29
    For reviving our ancestors’
legacy is a benefit for all of us.
  • 5:29 - 5:34
When such a structure, a mosque
or a masjid, falls into ruin,
  • 5:34 - 5:36
its reward still reaches its owner.
  • 5:36 - 5:44
But when it is revived – with prayers,
dhikr, tasbīḥāt, and all such acts –
  • 5:45 - 5:50
it brings barakah to that place.
  • 5:50 - 5:53
    It becomes a means for
    guidance and light to descend.
  • 5:53 - 5:55
    May Allāh ﷻ increase them.
  • 5:58 - 6:05
And may Allāh ﷻ soon reopen
    the ruined ones as well.
  • 6:05 - 6:09
    Because sometimes obstacles arise.
  • 6:09 - 6:12
There are obstacles we can control,
    and those we cannot.
  • 6:12 - 6:17
In shā’a Llāh, may Allāh ﷻ remove
    those obstacles, in shā’a Llāh.
  • 6:19 - 6:22
    Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi
    wa-sallam, his
  • 6:22 - 6:25
    every word is like
  • 6:26 - 6:29
    treasure, jewel. Precious
  • 6:31 - 6:35
    thing, what Prophet ṣallá Llāhu
    ‘alayhi wa-sallam saying.
  • 6:36 - 6:39
One of them, he ﷺ said about
  • 6:41 - 6:44
    who, in Qur’ān also saying,
  • 6:44 - 6:48
    "Innamā yaʿmuru masājida l-lahi man
    āmana bil-lahi wal-yawmi l-ākhir" (9:18).
  • 6:48 - 6:51
Allāh ﷻ praise them, who build
  • 6:52 - 6:57
mosque or prayer place for believer.
  • 6:57 - 7:03
This people, they are believer. They
    believe in Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla,
  • 7:04 - 7:07
in Prophet ﷺ, and for next life.
  • 7:07 - 7:10
    Yawmu l-ākhir, meaning next life.
  • 7:10 - 7:17
They build this to, according to Prophet
    ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam saying:
  • 7:17 - 7:23
    when somebody die there is
    good deed can be
  • 7:24 - 7:27
given for him, if he build something
  • 7:28 - 7:30
    for benefit of Muslim, or
  • 7:32 - 7:38
make some book or something knowledge
    for people, or good generation.
  • 7:39 - 7:44
So this, one of them, to build mosque.
  • 7:44 - 7:46
    When they build mosque,
  • 7:47 - 7:51
    Allāh ﷻ reward them. For
    everybody they coming there,
  • 7:53 - 7:56
Allāh ﷻ reward them for this also.
  • 7:56 - 7:59
    Al-ḥamdu liLlāh, there is
    many in whole world,
  • 8:00 - 8:04
many mosque, and many mosque what
  • 8:05 - 8:10
some of them destroyed, some of them
    collapsed, some of them
  • 8:12 - 8:15
nobody know about them what happen.
    But all this, what,
  • 8:16 - 8:21
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla reward who build
    this, until Qiyāmah,
  • 8:21 - 8:26
    until end of time,
  • 8:26 - 8:31
as [if] it is people coming for this.
  • 8:31 - 8:35
    Because thousands of mosque, some
  • 8:37 - 8:41
    hundred, tens maybe.
  • 8:43 - 8:46
    When coming, some people,
  • 8:47 - 8:49
they not like Islām, they destroy.
  • 8:50 - 8:55
Or they don't love religions, they
    destroy everything.
  • 8:55 - 8:58
But this also, Allāh ﷻ reward
them as [if] it is there
  • 8:59 - 9:02
and people they are worshipping inside.
  • 9:02 - 9:06
Al-ḥamdu liLlāh, this is big chance,
    big luck,
  • 9:06 - 9:09
for, lucky who done some mosque
  • 9:10 - 9:14
or good for benefit of people.
  • 9:15 - 9:19
    Al-ḥamdu liLlāh, tomorrow,
    in shā’a Llāh, also,
  • 9:19 - 9:22
old people they was building –
    small, big,
  • 9:23 - 9:25
as much they can do – mosque.
  • 9:25 - 9:33
And this is Island, Cyprus, which
  • 9:34 - 9:37
    Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi
    wa-sallam praise this.
  • 9:38 - 9:41
    And since beginning of Islām,
  • 9:42 - 9:46
    it was Muslim, they,
    Muslim, they conquered
  • 9:46 - 9:50
here, and it was whole Muslim.
    But after, of course,
  • 9:51 - 9:54
    sometimes Muslim, sometimes not. But
    they was building
  • 9:55 - 9:58
many mosques, many thing in this island.
  • 9:59 - 10:01
    And this giving barakah for
  • 10:02 - 10:05
land, and the place where it is around it.
  • 10:06 - 10:09
So one of them, al-ḥamdu liLlāh,
    tomorrow, in shā’a Llāh,
  • 10:09 - 10:12
    they rebuild it.
  • 10:12 - 10:15
It was old I think, maybe
    more than, look like
  • 10:16 - 10:20
two hundred, three hundred year old
    small mosque in Larnaca.
  • 10:20 - 10:23
In shā’a Llāh, tomorrow we will open it,
  • 10:24 - 10:27
    re-open it, in shā’a Llāh,
    for worshipping.
  • 10:28 - 10:32
Because, you know, it is difficult to
  • 10:34 - 10:37
do what you like. "I will build mosque."
  • 10:37 - 10:40
You cannot build if you, without
    permission, without this.
  • 10:40 - 10:44
    Al-ḥamdu liLlāh, this one,
    al-ḥamdu liLlāh, it will be
  • 10:44 - 10:48
re-open for worshipping, in shā’a Llāh.
  • 10:49 - 10:53
We attend for this occasion there,
    in shā’a Llāh.
  • 10:56 - 11:00
Thank for Allāh ﷻ to make it for us, to be
  • 11:00 - 11:03
opening this, in shā’a Llāh, Allāh ﷻ
    reward us.
  • 11:04 - 11:07
And it is for barakah for
  • 11:08 - 11:11
    every place around it.
  • 11:11 - 11:14
And this, one more mosque, more barakah,
  • 11:14 - 11:17
more hidāyah, in shā’a Llāh, for people.
  • 11:17 - 11:21
Because people, we see now, maybe people
  • 11:21 - 11:24
    they are seeing this people,
  • 11:26 - 11:27
    non-believer,
  • 11:29 - 11:33
our Turkish side, worse than Greek side.
  • 11:33 - 11:36
Greek side at least they are have church,
  • 11:36 - 11:37
they are more believer than ours.
  • 11:37 - 11:42
Ours, completely, no belief for our side.
  • 11:43 - 11:46
But it is no problem, because this is,
  • 11:47 - 11:50
they will be not... When Allāh ﷻ want,
  • 11:51 - 11:53
    they change them, bring better.
  • 11:54 - 11:58
    And again, the important,
  • 11:59 - 12:02
    the land to be for
  • 12:04 - 12:06
believer, for Muslim, in shā’a Llāh.
  • 12:06 - 12:10
And this is what our praying:
  • 12:11 - 12:14
Allāh ﷻ make hidāyah for them also.
  • 12:15 - 12:20
As much every more, mosque more
  • 12:21 - 12:24
dargah, takyā' or good thing for
  • 12:25 - 12:28
to make this people to thinking about
  • 12:29 - 12:30
    what they are living,
  • 12:31 - 12:34
what the purpose of the living for them.
  • 12:34 - 12:38
in shā’a Llāh, Allāh ﷻ give them hidāyah,
    give them good thinking,
  • 12:38 - 12:41
to come back to Islām, to come back to
  • 12:42 - 12:45
humanity, to come to their root,
  • 12:45 - 12:48
    the good root they have.
  • 12:49 - 12:54
Allāh ﷻ bless you and make us,
    in shā’a Llāh, to,
  • 12:54 - 12:57
can make, as Mawlānā Shaykh said,
  • 12:57 - 13:00
    we make forty thousand dargah.
  • 13:01 - 13:05
    Dargah meaning all,
    everything with mosque,
  • 13:05 - 13:11
with host for feeding, for helping people.
  • 13:11 - 13:15
All this when we say dargah, it
    is not only dargah.
  • 13:16 - 13:20
    Beginning, the first, it is
    mosque and around it.
  • 13:20 - 13:24
    What for teaching people,
    for helping people,
  • 13:25 - 13:29
for spreading goodness, in shā’a Llāh.
  • 13:29 - 13:32
    Allāh ﷻ make it easy,
  • 13:33 - 13:35
and to happen quickly, in shā’a Llāh.
  • 13:35 - 13:38
    Wa-min Allāhi t-tawfīq, al-Fātiḥah.
