-
There are beautiful sayings of our Holy
Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam.
-
All of them are beautiful.
-
Each time we hear some, we read some,
and some come to our minds.
-
One of those beautiful sayings is:
-
Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm.
-
“Innamā ya‘muru masājida Llāhi man
āmana bi-Llāhi wal-yawmi l-ākhir” (9:18).
-
The ones who build the houses
of Allāh ﷻ, the mosques,
-
are those who believe in
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, in the Prophet ﷺ,
-
and in the ākhirah.
-
Those to whom this is granted
-
are very lucky people.
-
Their luck is that this
good deed continues.
-
It continues while they are alive,
-
and remains the same until Qiyāmah.
-
This is because many people built mosques.
-
A hundred years, fifty years,
-
sometimes two hundred years
after they passed away,
-
something happened and
the mosque was removed.
-
Something else was built in its place.
-
But Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla still gives them
-
the same reward as when it was built.
-
Therefore, building a mosque or a masjid
-
is a great blessing for
the one who does it.
-
Of course, not everyone can do it.
-
The one who builds it is
a lucky servant of Allāh ﷻ.
-
Everywhere, our Ottoman ancestors,
-
and those before and after them,
-
have built many mosques and masjids.
-
This island of ours is
indeed a blessed island –
-
blessed for those who
live upon it, let’s say.
-
As our Holy Prophet ṣallá
Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said,
-
it is Jazīratu l-Khaḍrā’ –
the Green Island.
-
It is a blessed and sacred land.
-
Countless millions have
come and gone upon it.
-
The good came, the bad came.
-
All of them left.
-
What remains are righteous deeds.
-
They remain for those who performed them.
-
Otherwise, the value
of this island lies in
-
that which our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu
‘alayhi wa-sallam pointed to –
-
those mosques, dergahs, and houses built
-
for the remembrance
of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla.
-
By their barakah, barakah
comes to those who visit.
-
No matter how many people
living on it now say,
-
“We believe,” or “We do not believe” –
-
believe if you want, or don’t.
-
When your time comes,
-
you’ll be swept away,
and others will take your place.
-
Allāh ﷻ places whomever He ﷻ wills,
and removes whomever He ﷻ wills.
-
Not everyone is granted that blessing.
-
Therefore, we must recognise its value.
-
Our people have become deprived of this.
-
They think the dunyā is something.
-
The dunyā is nothing. As we said,
-
millions of people have
come and gone here.
-
What remains are good deeds.
-
They are never lost
in the sight of Allāh ﷻ.
-
In shā’a Llāh, tomorrow again –
-
near Hala Sultan in Larnaca,
-
there is a blessed mosque
from the time of the Ottomans –
-
its reopening will take place,
in shā’a Llāh.
-
Even in the days it was not used
-
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla has granted
that reward to those who built it.
-
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla has given
the reward for that good deed.
-
May Allāh ﷻ grant all of us
-
the ability to build such mosques
and do good works.
-
May they benefit people, in shā’a Llāh.
-
May their barakah reach us all.
-
For reviving our ancestors’
legacy is a benefit for all of us.
-
When such a structure, a mosque
or a masjid, falls into ruin,
-
its reward still reaches its owner.
-
But when it is revived – with prayers,
dhikr, tasbīḥāt, and all such acts –
-
it brings barakah to that place.
-
It becomes a means for
guidance and light to descend.
-
May Allāh ﷻ increase them.
-
And may Allāh ﷻ soon reopen
the ruined ones as well.
-
Because sometimes obstacles arise.
-
There are obstacles we can control,
and those we cannot.
-
In shā’a Llāh, may Allāh ﷻ remove
those obstacles, in shā’a Llāh.
-
Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi
wa-sallam he is
-
every word is like
-
treasure, jewel, precious
-
thing what Prophet ṣallá Llāhu
‘alayhi wa-sallam saying.
-
One of them he said about
-
who in Qur’ān also saying,
-
'Innamā yaʿmuru masājida l-lahi man
āmana bil-lahi wal-yawmi l-ākhir' (9:18)
-
Allāh ﷻ praise them who build
-
Mosque or prayer place for believer.
-
This people they are believer. They
believe in Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla
-
in Prophet ﷺ and for next life.
-
Yawmu l-ākhir meaning next life.
-
They build this to, according to Prophet
ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam saying,
-
when somebody die there is
good deed can be
-
given for him if he build something
-
for benefit of Muslim or
-
make some book or something knowledge
for people or good generation.
-
So this one of them to build Mosque.
-
When they build mosque,
-
Allāh ﷻ reward them for
everybody they coming there,
-
Allāh ﷻ reward them for this also.
-
Al-ḥamdu liLlāh there is
many in whole world,
-
many Mosque and many Mosque what
-
some of them destroyed, some of them
collapsed, some of them
-
nobody know about them what happen.
But all this what
-
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla reward who build
this until Qiyāmah,
-
until end of time,
-
as it is people coming for this.
-
Because thousands of Mosque, some
-
hundred, tens maybe.
-
When coming some people
-
they not like Islām, they destroy
-
or they don't love religions, they
destroy everything.
-
But this also Allāh ﷻ reward
them as it is there
-
and people they are worshipping inside.
-
Al-ḥamdu liLlāh this is big chance,
big luck
-
for lucky who done some Mosque
-
or good for benefit of people.
-
Al-ḥamdu liLlāh tomorrow,
in shā’a Llāh, also
-
all the people they was building
small, big,
-
as much they can do Mosque.
-
And this is Island, Cyprus
-
Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi
wa-sallam praise this.
-
And since beginning of Islām
-
it was Muslim, they call
Muslim they conquered
-
here and it was whole Muslim.
But after of course
-
sometimes, sometimes not. But
they was building
-
many Mosque, many thing in this Island
-
and this giving barakah for
-
land and the place where it is around it.
-
So one of them, al-ḥamdu liLlāh,
tomorrow, in shā’a Llāh,
-
they rebuild it.
-
It was old I think maybe
more than look like
-
two hundred, three hundred year old
small Mosque in Larnaka.
-
in shā’a Llāh, tomorrow we will open it,
-
re-open it, in shā’a Llāh,
for worshipping.
-
Because you know it is difficult to
-
do what you like. I will be build Mosque.
-
You cannot build if you without
permission, without this.
-
Al-ḥamdu liLlāh, this one,
al-ḥamdu liLlāh, it will be
-
re-open for worshipping. in shā’a Llāh,
-
we attend for this occasion there,
in shā’a Llāh,
-
thank for Allāh ﷻ to make it for us to be
-
opening this, in shā’a Llāh reward us.
-
And it is for barakah for
-
every place around it.
-
And this one more Mosque, more barakah,
-
more hidāyah, in shā’a Llāh, for people.
-
Because people, we see now, maybe people
-
they are seeing this people
-
non-believer,
-
our Turkish side worse than Greek side.
-
Greek side at least they are have Church,
-
they are more believer than ours.
-
Ours completely no belief for our side.
-
But it is no problem because this is
-
they will be not, when Allāh ﷻ want,
-
they change them, bring better.
-
And again the important,
-
the land to be for
-
believer, for Muslim, in shā’a Llāh.
-
And this is what our praying
-
Allāh ﷻ make hidāyah for them also.
-
As much every more, Mosque more
-
dargah, takyā' or good thing for
-
to make this people to thinking about
-
what they are living,
-
what the purpose of the living for them.
-
in shā’a Llāh, Allāh ﷻ give them hidāyah,
give them good thinking
-
to come back to Islām, to come back to
-
humanity, to come to their root,
-
the good root they have.
-
Allāh ﷻ bless you and make us,
in shā’a Llāh, to
-
can make, as Mawlānā Shaykh said,
-
we make forty thousand dargah.
-
Dargah meaning all,
everything with Mosque,
-
with host for feeding, for helping people.
-
All this when we say dargah, it
is not only dargah.
-
Beginning, the first it is
Mosque and around it
-
what for teaching people,
for helping people,
-
for spreading goodness, in shā’a Llāh.
-
Allāh ﷻ make it easy
-
and to happen quickly,in shā’a Llāh.
-
Wa-min Allāhi t-tawfīq, al-Fātiḥah.
