Q&As for School Children - Who is the Sikh God?

so what do we believe in you guys have

studied siki a little bit yeah in your

school

okay so the first bit should be quite

straightforward that you know that we

believe in one creator yeah but we don't

believe this creator is outside the

world and separate from it we believe

this creator is right here right now all

around us so in a way we are inside

God god's not outside us and separate

from us we're inside God cuz for us God

is like energy yeah and there's nothing

but God so we believe that in the

beginning there was just God yeah and

God from within themselves created this

illusion that we're in yeah and in the

illusion God put lots of little souls of

themselves little little souls yeah

which became which are actually part of

God but they became they started to

think they were separate yeah and that's

where we are now all of us that's how we

believe it that we all think we're

separate from God but in fact we're

inside God and we are part of God yeah

and the whole of Siki is about waking up

to that realization so anybody seen a

movie called The Matrix

you have yeah i'm surprised cuz you

these guys are quite young so the Matrix

is like a favorite movie of mine yeah

and what happens in Matrix is the guy

wakes up doesn't he and realizes is an

illusion so we it's a bit like what we

do as a seek you're supposed to meditate

and you wake up and realize oh I'm

actually inside God and all around me is

God and God's inside me and I'm actually

part of God yeah it's like a waking up

process
