-
Okay, so first I use some paté.
-
And I cut the paté
into four portions,
-
just to make it easier to plop
out just a smallish amount
-
of the paté because I don't really
want her to have very much food
-
that she has to clean her plate with
for getting all of the medicine consumed.
-
So, I only give her a
quarter of a can of paté.
-
And what I do is
I mash it down flat.
-
I just realized I set this up
as if I'm a left-handed person
-
and I'm not, so this will be a little
harder for me to not bump the camera.
-
So, I mash it down flat,
-
and then I always keep the--
What's it called? Telmisartan.
-
I always store it upside down
because it's kinda thicker
-
because they suspend
it in marshmallow,
-
so it kinda clings to
the sides of the bottle.
-
So, you'll find it when I have it,
it's kept upside down in this jar.
-
That's what I do, is I keep
it upside down in the jar.
-
And telmisartan she gets 0.5.
Also, I also check the back
-
and see if there's any air bubbles,
and there kind of is really big
-
air bubble right up here,
so I'm just gonna push it out.
-
What I do is I pull down
and I push really fast
-
and it kinda knocks
the air bubble out.
-
You can't really see the air
bubble on the video right now.
-
If you hold it up to the light you can
see there's a really big air bubble.
-
And the air bubbles in the telmisartan
with the marshmallow suspension
-
don't really-- I can't really tap
the thing to get them to bubble up.
-
You just have to use a fast push
and push it back into the bottle.
-
It's a little bit weird.
Anyways...
-
Now what I do is I kinda
distribute it in dots all around
-
just so there's no big
chunk of it anywhere.
-
She doesn't like the
flavor of the telmisartan--
-
or it's probably the marshmallow
suspension that she doesn't like.
-
I don't know what it is,
but this is the one
-
that's always been hardest
for me to get her to eat.
-
So, I keep it in little tiny dollops
everywhere and then what I do...
-
...is I take a tube of Delectables,
and I don't use very much of this,
-
but I squeeze a little
dollop of it in the middle.
-
And then I have something
I can ball up around,
-
so then all these little dots
of telmesartan are going to
-
kinda come up and stay
separated by the Delectables.
-
And then I'm going to...
-
...add a little more because
I can see some white dots
-
of the telmesartan
around the rim,
-
so I'm just going to cover them
with some tasty Delectables.
-
Okay, and then I have some paté--
or some-- Sorry, not paté--
-
Gravy. I have this Fancy Feast
Naturals in gravy she really likes.
-
And I'm just gonna
take a little bit of that.
-
Put it on top, and now I'm
going to add her other food--
-
Or her other medicine.
-
And so this is
the methimazole.
-
The methimazole is much
easier to shake, it's looser.
-
And the methimazole is 0.25,
-
so I can pull it back to 0.25.
-
Actually, I usually pull it further,
and then I hold it upright
-
and I tap any bubbles out.
-
Because this one's
bubbles you can tap out.
-
And then I push it back up--
Oh, there's a lot of bubbles
-
in there this time.
I think it's getting low.
-
I'm going to be ordering a
new bottle before we leave,
-
so then you don't have
one that gets bubbly.
-
And then I'll push it out to 0.25.
-
And that is the methimazole.
-
And this she doesn't mind
the flavor of this as much,
-
so I just kinda swirl it on
top of the gravy food.
-
And then I put more
gravy food on top of there.
-
I'm just going to use
my fingers to make sure
-
it doesn't fall off the little
mountain of food I've made.
-
Just cuz that would
defeat the purpose and
-
I'm just using my fingers to
touch the food, not the medicine.
-
There you go. And that
is what I give to Blanche,
-
who is excitedly waiting
to get this right now!
