  • 0:00 - 0:02
    JANIS: Hi, everyone.
  • 0:02 - 0:02
    It's Janis here.
  • 0:02 - 0:06
And in this video, we will
    explore what is sensemaking.
  • 0:06 - 0:10
    Sometimes in our life,
    we'll face a decisions that
  • 0:10 - 0:11
    doesn't seem to make sense.
  • 0:11 - 0:14
    But oftentimes, it's important
    to take action anyway,
  • 0:14 - 0:18
as deep inside, you know that
it's the right thing to do.
  • 0:18 - 0:20
    If this is your first
    time on this channel,
  • 0:20 - 0:22
    then make sure you subscribe
    and hit the bell icon
  • 0:22 - 0:24
    to get updates on
    my latest videos
  • 0:24 - 0:27
    about time management
    and productivity.
  • 0:27 - 0:29
    Sensemaking is the
    process by which
  • 0:29 - 0:33
    people give meaning to their
    collective experiences.
  • 0:33 - 0:37
    It's the ongoing retrospective
    development of plausible images
  • 0:37 - 0:41
    that rationalize what
    people are doing.
  • 0:41 - 0:44
    We all take actions and
    make decisions every day.
  • 0:44 - 0:46
    But you might not have
    noticed, that every time you
  • 0:46 - 0:48
    do something, you
    verify in your mind,
  • 0:48 - 0:51
if it makes sense to do that.
  • 0:51 - 0:54
    Sometimes it happens before you
make a decision or take action,
  • 0:54 - 0:56
    while other times,
    it is something
  • 0:56 - 0:58
    that you do afterwards.
  • 0:58 - 1:01
    For example, you might
    want to start a business.
  • 1:01 - 1:04
But before you do that, try to
make sense of why you do it,
  • 1:04 - 1:06
    and what you will achieve.
  • 1:06 - 1:07
    If you can't make
    sense of it, then you
  • 1:07 - 1:10
    will most likely
    overthink the process
  • 1:10 - 1:14
    and eventually not go ahead
    with starting your own business.
  • 1:14 - 1:16
    Other times, when we are
    under the time pressure,
  • 1:16 - 1:18
    we make rush decisions.
  • 1:18 - 1:20
    But that doesn't mean
    that the sensemaking
  • 1:20 - 1:22
    part gets left
    aside, we simply try
  • 1:22 - 1:25
to make sense after the event.
  • 1:25 - 1:27
    For example, you might
    make a rush decision
  • 1:27 - 1:30
    to invest your money in
    Bitcoin, but after you
  • 1:30 - 1:32
    have done that still
try to make sense of it.
  • 1:32 - 1:35
    In his book Be
    Obsessed or Be Average,
  • 1:35 - 1:38
Grant Cardone said, how do you
    make sense from things that
  • 1:38 - 1:40
doesn't make sense in our life.
  • 1:40 - 1:42
    We often face situations
    where it doesn't make sense
  • 1:42 - 1:45
    to do something, but it
    might be the very thing
  • 1:45 - 1:46
    that you have to do.
  • 1:46 - 1:49
    Sensemaking is a natural
    thing to everyone,
  • 1:49 - 1:51
and we have to see things
    from a bigger picture,
  • 1:51 - 1:55
if we want to make the
    right decisions in our life.
  • 1:55 - 1:56
    I hope that you
    enjoyed this video,
  • 1:56 - 1:58
and I was able to give
    you a quick summary
  • 1:58 - 2:01
    of what sensemaking
    is and how it works.
  • 2:01 - 2:03

    video, I would really
