-
- Hey! Finally, we have
the vivo V50.
-
Previously with the vivo V40,
we've been delighted
-
with its performance.
-
The camera was really great.
-
And I'm probably looking forward
for some improvements
-
on the V50.
-
Powered by the Qualcomm
Snapdragon 7 Gen 3,
-
together with a big battery
at 6,000mAh
-
that has 90W Flash Charge support,
-
and ZEISS all main cameras inside.
-
More details
after this quick intro.
-
(introduction music)
-
The vivo V50 5G
has three variants here
-
in the Philippines.
-
8GB/256GB is priced
at Php26,999.
-
Its 12GB/256GB is priced
at Php27,999.
-
Its 12GB/512GB is priced
at Php30,999.
-
For me, the sweet spot
is the 12GB/256GB
-
because with only
Php1,000 difference,
-
you'll get 4GB more memory.
-
Go with the 12GB/256GB.
-
And right now, it's still
under early product launch,
-
so you can buy the 8GB/256GB
for Php24,499.
-
More details
on the description box below.
-
One of the things I liked
about this is its color.
-
This color red is more
of a maroon shade which I love.
-
The color on the back
looks beautiful
-
and I really like
its camera ring here.
-
It's kind of different compared
to the vivo V40
-
and of course,
its Aura Ring is still there,
-
or you can call it Aura Ring Light.
-
One of the things I like
about it here is its back
-
is matte finish
and it's quite smooth.
-
It feels great to touch it,
plus it has a grip.
-
Its back case is quad curve,
as well as the front.
-
Its curve is symmetrical
so it feels good on my hands.
-
One of the good things here
is its glass back,
-
plastic frames.
-
Its front is a Diamond
Shield Glass protection.
-
- It has IP68/IP69
dust and water resistance.
-
This phone is running
Funtouch 15 inside Android 15
-
and it has three major
Android OS update,
-
so you should be updated
up to Android 18.
-
Now this phone is being powered
by the reliable
-
Snapdragon 7 Gen 3
and honestly, for me,
-
it's quite okay for daily usage
because this phone
-
is more focused on the camera,
-
not too much on the gaming.
-
So getting an 805,000 points
in AnTuTu Benchmark
-
is not so bad.
-
And this is the breakdown score.
-
It's got 1,444 loop score
on Wild Life Extreme
-
and it has 98% stability.
-
This is the score we got
on Geekbench CPU benchmark
-
and GPU benchmark.
-
Probably one of the rare few phones
that I've tested
-
without thermal throttling detected
on its thermal test.
-
And by the way guys,
it's also got 360°
-
Omnidirectional Antenna 2.0
and Signal Bridge technology,
-
that's why the signal
on the phone improved
-
by up to 45%
and it has a wider coverage
-
on low signal areas
by around 30%.
-
Now this phone has
a silicon-carbon battery.
-
It has 6,000mAh which is,
for me, quite huge.
-
And it also comes together
with a 90W Flash Charge.
-
Charging speed is definitely fast
and you won't have
-
a problem to let this phone
last for a whole day
-
without charging.
-
As long as you're using it normally,
you won't have
-
any problems,
the battery of this phone
-
is long-lasting
because it got me
-
a 22 1/2 hours screen-on time
when I put this
-
under the PCMark
battery stress test
-
under 60Hz of screen refresh rate
and 50% brightness.
-
This vivo V50 probably has
one of the better screens
-
that I've used.
-
Probably not the best
but one of the better ones
-
out there.
-
It has 6.77-inch AMOLED display
-
with 120Hz of screen refresh rate.
-
Its peak brightness is 4,500 nits
and it has a good
-
quad-curved display
-
having an 89%
screen-to-body ratio.
-
And it's being protected
by a Diamond Shield Glass.
-
If you're browsing
through your socials a bit,
-
expect it to be a good
browsing experience
-
and you won't have
any problems with it.
-
As long as you have
a good internet connection,
-
browsing on Facebook,
TikTok, Instagram,
-
there's no problem with it.
-
You'll have
a very smooth experience.
-
If you're watching HD content
on YouTube, Netflix,
-
or on any other
online streaming platforms,
-
expect to give you
a really good experience
-
because it has very punchy colors.
-
You'll be definitely satisfied
with it.
-
We just want
to quickly test its speakers.
-
It has a loudspeaker
on the bottom
-
and the other one
is hiding in its earpiece.
-
Let's just max out the volume.
Let's check it out.
-
(Abracadabra by Lady Gaga)
-
Well, honestly, it's average.
-
Not the loudest that I've heard
but for me, it's quite good.
-
Earlier, I said that
this is definitely not
-
a gaming phone
if you're looking out
-
for a gaming phone.
-
This is more
of a camera-centric phone
-
but I just want to show you
how powerful it is on gaming.
-
And I did play three games here:
-
Call of Duty Mobile,
Genshin Impact,
-
and Farlight 84.
-
On Call of Duty Mobile,
you won't have
-
any problems here,
it's very smooth
-
because it's 7 Gen 3
and it's capable to run CODM,
-
giving me a really nice
graphics here.
-
It was able to give me
a good gaming experience.
-
The touch response
is really good
-
and the hottest temperature
it reached was around 41°C
-
after 30 minutes.
-
On Farlight 84, we put it
to medium graphic settings.
-
And along the way,
the gameplay was fine
-
for the first 15 minutes.
-
But the game progresses,
I noticed that
-
there were just
some few minor frame drops
-
along the way.
-
And there are times that
when you're clashing
-
on a certain point,
you'll also notice
-
that it kind of slows down.
-
Though the sounds are good
and the touch response
-
is great, the hottest temperature
it reached was 44°C.
-
It was kind of hot.
-
On Genshin Impact,
expect that you can only set it
-
to medium graphic settings.
-
And I put it to 60 FPS.
-
Playing this game,
I would say, okay,
-
I enjoyed it,
though at times you'll notice
-
it's not that smooth,
and you'll notice
-
there are some few frame drops.
-
It's not too much,
but if you probably lower down
-
the graphic settings,
you might play it
-
a little bit smoother compared
to medium graphic settings.
-
But one thing to warn you
is that it's a bit hot at 46°C
-
after 30 minutes of gameplay.
-
One of my recommendations
is to get yourself
-
a phone cooler
so it will be cooler.
-
Now probably we'll talk
about one of my favorite topics.
-
Of course, this is
a camera-centric phone.
-
vivo V50 has all ZEISS
on all its cameras.
-
Many of you are confused
with ZEISS being a camera sensor
-
but it's not.
-
ZEISS is a manufacturer
of lenses so the lenses here
-
are made from ZEISS.
-
But I know there's only
three manufacturers
-
of camera sensors:
Sony, Samsung, and OmniVision.
-
Let's talk about its camera.
-
Its main camera sensor
is a 50MP with OIS.
-
This one is an OmniVision OV50E.
-
Together with it
is a 50MP ultra wide lens
-
which gives you a 119° FoV.
-
And this one is
a Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor.
-
Both of these sensors
can let you shoot
-
up to 4K and 30 FPS.
-
Its front-facing camera
is also a 50MP sensor
-
which is also ZEISS optics,
by the way.
-
And it can also let you shoot
up to 4K and 30 FPS.
-
One of the things I like
about the camera of the vivo V50
-
is its collaboration with ZEISS.
-
So it will give you
a pretty good image output
-
just simply like this one.
-
On outdoors, you'd see
that the shots you get
-
would be great.
-
It's very bright,
the sky looks great,
-
the details you'll capture here
are good.
-
Without a doubt,
this is probably one
-
of my favorite cameras
for early 2025.
-
Being able to capture this one,
I would say
-
that it's okay,
it's not saturated.
-
It maintains its natural look here.
-
'Cause I love to capture
some greens on outdoors
-
just to be able to see
how much its saturation is
-
but this camera of the vivo V50,
I would tell you that,
-
honestly, it's more
of the natural feel.
-
And when you take
some flower shots like this one,
-
when you zoom it on its petals,
-
you'll really get
some nice details on it.
-
Even simple shots like this one,
you'd see that
-
it looks kind of dramatic.
-
I also played
with the different lenses on it,
-
starting with the ultra wide.
-
This is an ultra wide shot,
by the way.
-
This is the normal shot,
-
2x,
-
5x,
-
10x,
-
and zooming it all the way
to 20x.
-
We can see that after 20x,
it's a little bit blurry
-
but you'll still see some details.
-
One thing to notice is that
the color of the ultra wide
-
is kind of different,
the sky looks like a lighter blue
-
if you'll notice it,
and a little bit more
-
of a darker blue approach
on the normal lens.
-
If you're walking like a tourist,
being able to take
-
some of these shtos
on your vicinity
-
to keep as a memory,
I would tell you
-
that the camera output
on the vivo V50 is really great.
-
It's sharp and very detailed.
-
When it comes to indoor lowlight,
on food photography,
-
expect the vivo V50
to give you some really nice shots.
-
Even simple food shots,
you'd be able to get
-
some really nice snaps on it.
-
Even without lighting,
when you zoom it in,
-
you'll see a lot of details on it,
you'll see some oil.
-
And even pepper,
you'll see it on this food
-
which is really amazing.
-
If you're taking pictures
of wedding gowns,
-
you'll be able to get
some nice details on its beads
-
on this wedding dress.
-
And equally said
on this red version.
-
If we're going to talk
about LED lights,
-
the shot on this one
also looks good.
-
I focused on the lights
and it was able to get quite
-
a dramatic shot.
-
If you like apparel shots,
this vivo V5 is also good
-
at product shooting,
not just for portraits.
-
Speaking about portrait shots,
this camera would be able
-
to perform because
its front-facing camera is great.
-
I was impressed with almost
all of these shots
-
that we got on outdoors.
-
The shots were great,
it's very detailed on my face.
-
It was able to satisfy me
basically.
-
And even the sun was harsh,
it can still give
-
a good selfie photo.
-
If you go indoors,
as long as your lighting is good,
-
you'll be able to score
some really nice shots
-
like this one.
-
This is what we've got.
-
These are mostly well-lit.
-
Even lowlight on selfie shots,
it's still okay.
-
Though it's going to be
a little bit softer
-
but overall, the shots
are still very decent.
-
One thing I noticed
on its front-facing camera
-
if you're taking a vlog,
its resolution is very nice
-
except that it's
a little bit shaky.
-
But overall, the quality is good.
-
You just need to use a gimbal.
-
Looking at its rear camera,
the transition is smoot.
-
Even if you don't have a gimbal,
you just use your bare hand
-
like what I did.
-
You'll be able to get
some really nice video
-
out from its rear camera.
-
One of the good things here
is that it comes with AI.
-
One of the things I'm looking for
on a midrange phone
-
these days is the AI capability,
especially AI erase.
-
Let's say we want
to remove this person.
-
So all I need to do
is just encircle the person
-
and he'll disappear
in a little while.
-
Now, he's removed.
-
The edit looks great.
-
And honestly,
you'll be surprised with it.
-
Let's do another sample.
-
The person will also disappear.
-
It's just like a Thanos snap.
-
Even this trash can will be removed.
-
Then, yeah, all the people
that you want to be removed,
-
just encircle them
and your photo's clean.
-
That's the power of AI
on the vivo V50.
-
Now guys, what can I say
about this vivo V50?
-
Honestly, its improvement
from the vivo V40,
-
it's not that huge,
but there are some significant changes
-
on it and you'll see
that some of the pictures
-
that I've captured tends
to be a little bit better
-
than the vivo V40.
-
Plus, its design,
I kind of like its design here
-
this time around,
especially its red shade,
-
it's more a maroon color.
-
Plus, one of the good things
is that it's lightweight
-
and it has a quad curve display.
-
Plus, its early bird rate
is below Php25,000
-
so I think if you're out there
in the market
-
looking for a phone
below Php25,000
-
that can really shoot you
some good photos,
-
this is definitely the one
that you should buy,
-
the vivo V50,
its 8GB/256GB is currently
-
just priced at Php24,490
for its early bird rate.
-
So if you want to know
where you can buy this,
-
I'll post the official links
