so I just want to pray for us lord help

us every day to be disciplined to read

your word to speak it out to hear

ourselves

there is a second half to his mission

and that he will not come as a suffering

servant but as a conquering king he will

not come as a meek lamb but he will come

as a roaring lion and when he comes the

second time it will not be to die for

our sins but it will be to judge the

world of their sins and to establish his

kingdom upon the earth

good morning everyone

when I started thinking about our

meeting today this morning with God

[Music]

I was thinking of this upcoming weekend

which is Passover

and every family in the people of Israel

are busy cleaning out their home taking

out the yeast the leaven scrubbing every

room

they work so hard to get deep into it

[Music]

but I thought we have a gift we have a

privilege

[Music]

and I remembered what King David wrote

in Psalm 51 verse 12

he spoke about the true cleansing

and that's what I feel the Lord wants to

speak to us

today elohim

it says "Create in me a clean heart oh

God and renew a steadfast spirit within

[Music]

me." King David isn't asking for an

external

cleaning but this is after he sinned

with Basha and he wants a true inward

deep cleaning

and that's what God wants us to ask from

him in this

season that's what God wants the people

of Israel to ask a true

[Music]

cleansing so Father in heaven thank you

for your

grace thank you that you only can do

true cleansing in our hearts

this morning we ask for a true deep

cleansing in each and every one of our

lives and we ask for true cleansing and

forgiveness of sins for the people of

Israel

we call on you this morning and we ask

for forgiveness of sins

that this Passover would be a Passover

of deep deep true cleaning and cleansing

thank you Lord that you hear prayers

it's also so clear that David saw he

couldn't do it himself

he said "Create it create it

it's something we can't do on our

own it's too deep of a clean

we could clean maybe a half on our

own but the full job is something that

only he can do cuz it has to be created

doorpost of our ancestors before leaving

Egypt oh God as our people celebrate the

Passover which seems more real the

Exodus Passover story more real to us

this year than in at any other time in

our lives where our people are crying

out to you where many are desperate for

you where the hostages are surely

desperate for you those who can identify

with the Exodus story Lord as probably

none of us uh otherwise can oh God would

you begin Lord to remove that veil

that's described in 2 Corinthians

chapter 3 where you say that there is a

veil over the eyes and hearts and minds

of the Jewish people when Moses is read

but if anyone turns to the Lord the veil

is removed and so God as hearts and

minds are turning to you let there be

now in this land a uh a piercing a uh

tearing apart of that veil even as there

was a tearing apart of the veil in the

temple of God after the crucifixion let

the veil be torn over the minds and

hearts of our people as never before

that they may behold the lamb of God who

takes away the sins of the world and we

are in agreement before your throne of

grace for the truth of your word that

there is no other name given to us under

heaven by which we must be saved reveal

oh God the true face of Yeshua to our

people to your people for in his name

and for his glory amen

just want to continue on that prayer

that Father the time of the Exodus you

didn't

just remove the slave people you

demonstrated to the whole world your

power your power Lord your glory you

brought plagues upon the kingdom of evil

you brought to their knees the evil

kingdom Lord you brought out you let so

that everyone in the whole world heard

the story and father we pray that we're

going to come out of this season that

your hand Lord we ask you yes rescue the

hostages but Lord we're asking you for

your mighty arm to be shown that every

single nation Lord from China from India

from Russia to America to Europe to

Africa lord we pray for every nation to

know that there is a God in Israel that

he is all powerful that he is the only

God he is the only true God and he

brings justice and punishment and

destruction to the forces of evil in

Yeshua's name

God for Messiah is the end of the law

for righteousness to everyone who

believes

father as your son said it's not the

healthy that needs a doctor but the sick

and we ask Lord God as Lord many are

believing whether Jews and Muslims and

maybe even some Christians that through

their religious works that they can be

saved we ask God that Lord you would

Lord as that uh tax collector came

before you and said God have mercy upon

me a sinner god I ask for conviction

release the spirit of fear of the Lord

God upon Jew and Arab and others Lord

God in this city in this land lord that

Lord that Yeah apart from your son Lord

like that Pharisee that prided himself

in prayer and fasting giving alms and

looking down at others seeing himself as

more righteous you resist the proud but

give grace to the humble and so we cry

out "Father have mercy for every

spiritual pride in this city god we ask

for conviction of sin and only that in

your son's righteousness will our sin be

atoned for only by his blood many call

upon the name of Yeshua in this Passover

and we know that is the culmination of

allow Israel to enter the promise fully

Lord and as they look upon the lamb Lord

that eyes would be opened hearts would

be opened that your spirit of grace and

supplication would be pouring out poured

inhabitant of Jerusalem and all Israel

and we would look upon you who was

pierced Lord and mourned for your son as

one mourns for a firstborn let this your

spirit the same wind of your spirit that

parted the Red Sea do that for our

that Israel had had a spirit of harlotry

within her that they did not know the

Lord moreover the pride of Israel

testified against her and Lord you said

"I will go away and return to my place

until my people acknowledge their guilt

and seek my face." In their affliction

they will earnestly seek me says the

Lord israel responds "Come let us return

to the Lord for he has torn us but he

will heal us he has wounded us but he

will bandage us he will revive us after

two days he will raise us up on the

third day that we may live before him so

let us know yes let us press on to know

the Lord his going forth is as certain

as the dawn he will come to us like rain

like the spring rain watering the earth

aba I'm asking in this time Lord in this

season that you would respond to

Israel's cry Lord the seeking and the

searching Lord that you would come to

this nation like rain that you would

fall Lord that you said in the last days

that you would pour out your spirit on

all flesh lord we ask that in this last

days era Lord that you would pour out

the Holy Spirit on Israel that you would

pour out the spirit on Jews and Arabs

Lord the nations that are here in this

country Lord that in the midst of the

harlotry in the midst of of the turning

aside from the Lord that now there would

be a turning now there would be a

turning yes let us seek the Lord let us

know him bashim

Yeshua hallelujah well um thank you for

the wonderful worship i want us to pray

one more prayer before we end right now

as we're here praying there's a very

heated discussion going on in the

Supreme Court which is right

there and uh it's so loud I can hear

them from my apartment i can hear them

screaming uh but uh anyway there's about

four or five issues uh here in which

there's a clash between the Supreme

Court and the um and the executive

branch and uh they're they're coming

they all come up over the next few

months and they really will determine a

lot what happens in Israel they're very

complex issues the one issue today that

they're talking about is whether

Netanyah has the right to fire the

previous uh Shabbach leader Ronin Bar

and but there's several coming up after

that and u we as the believers here

sometimes are on one side of the issues

and sometimes on the other side of the

issue so uh we just really need to pray

for righteousness this is a key issue

and it's kind of a domino effect on a

lot of different things we don't want to

go into all the politics but we can pray

for righteousness so let's just reach

out our hands it's right about right

over there right on the other side of

the kitchen right there father we just

thank you Father uh as in with the

Supreme Court of Bagots they're

discussing right now uh the authority of

the government to fire the um chabbak

the internal security uh uh forces

leader Lord and whether to switch him

Lord we pray for righteous decision Lord

righteous decision Lord righteous

decision Father God we thank you Lord

for a a true checks and balances in this

nation Lord God for uh freedom of

religion Lord of righteous standards of

righteous uh uh moral values we thank

you Father and clear functioning of this

government Lord the right balance

between the executive the judicial and

the legislative thank you Father God

we're praying today for the right

decision concerning Ronin Bar Lord and

then the four or five next decisions are

going to have to come over this next two

months we thank you for that happening

Lord in Yeshua's name righteousness

wisdom and justice righteousness wisdom

and justice righteousness wisdom and

justice upon the Supreme Court of Israel

in Yeshua's name amen

there's a few points I want to bring in

closing that I was thinking

about the power that each and every one

of us have here

and we said earlier it's by the power of

the blood of Yeshua

and sometimes we make light of that

power we don't think of its power

that each and every one of us here

hold that we have forgiveness of sins

what mo many people in the world don't

have

we have a covenant

we have life

true life

we've received such mercy and

[Music]

grace and the most powerful thing that

we have victory at every point in time

[Music]

and we have unity with God oneness with

him and peace with him what many people

don't have

and one last powerful thing we have is

an access into the holy of

holies so Father thank you for reminding

us of this today

thank you for reminding us of your grace

and your victory

father we are children of God

we are beloved

and we are overcomers

thank you for your grace in Yeshua's

well it's good uh to see all of you some

faces people who were away away for the

weekend at a youth camp teaching away uh

in different places people back from New

Jersey from New from New England from

traveling wonderful uh we're continuing

today uh in what will be a three-part

series today's the second one on uh

discernment really is the title uh from

Yeshua's temptations in the wilderness

in Matthew chapter 4 okay and uh the

title of the series is discernment

equals three things if you remember

first one is identity knowing who you

are in God and the second one is of

course the word the voice of God

understanding and discerning when is God

speaking and how and of course obeying

obeying that that word and then the

third thing is the supernatural

discerning what's happening in the

spirit in the spiritual realm in the

supernatural realm so we talked last

time about I'm just going to do a really

quick review like in a minute if you

remember out of the first

temptation Yeshua's finished 40 days of

fasting after he was baptized after he

heard the voice of the father say "This

is my son 40 days are finished it's time

to eat he's hungry and he hears a

voice." And remember I said uh

that went on is that all right

sh I'll just hold

on that's a good reminder to turn off

phones right uh and he we said that um

Yeshua was tempted and tested it's the

same word just like we are remember that

picture I showed you it's not like the

devil came to him in a red suit with

smoke coming out of his nose and talking

like the devil okay because that doesn't

require a great deal of discernment most

5-year-olds who have watched enough

cartoons can discern that that's the bad

guy okay he came he he I believe he came

the devil came to him just as he comes

to us which is through the spirit

through our soul into our mind okay so

that he heard a voice not like a radio

voice in his head but in his mind that

said "If you're really the son of God

speak to this stone and turn it into

bread." Right we remember the test he's

got to go through everything that Israel

and Moses went through 40 days in the

wilderness for him is equal to the 40

years of Israel in the wilderness um

he's going to go through tests just like

Moses did just like the people of Israel

did if you are the son of God this voice

is like you have to prove it remember we

talked about ego if you there's

something of the ego in there i've got

to prove who I am as the son of God wait

a minute i just heard 40 days before the

father said it i don't have to do

anything do I uh holy scripture we

talked about how Yeshua learned for 30

years and we don't it's just 30 years of

his life is we get one or two verses of

summary that's it he lived a normal life

no Harry Potter no magic no supernatural

moving things nothing just a good Jewish

boy sinless who learned the Torah and

the word of God and memorized the whole

thing so that when this time came the

Holy Spirit I was saying the Holy Spirit

is kind of like a browser you know it's

like your internet browser right there's

all this material out there and the

browser just goes and finds it and puts

it together and connects things that's

what the Holy Spirit does but if you

don't have the scriptures if you haven't

done the work of filling up your datab

bank with the scriptures the Holy Spirit

doesn't have much to work with okay and

I told you my story how when I was first

my first year as a believer when I

didn't have much scripture because I

hadn't grown up with it and I didn't you

know I didn't uh learn it I had to have

a lot of supernatural communication from

God directly but then he said go and

learn the scriptures and things changed

okay so that's something else we learned

from that first uh first temptation uh

we learned about where how waiting on

God that the speech of God is not most

of the time we don't hear God speaking

we see the result of his

speech when God God said let there be

light nobody was there to hear that and

he he had to tell Moses thousands of

years later on Mount Si that's how it

happened right but the proof that God

spoke is there was light right the proof

of God providing or speaking mana to the

people of Israel in this Passover season

when they're on their way out of Egypt

uh is nobody heard God say or nobody got

a word or Moses didn't have to command

the mana to come down from heaven god

apparently spoke and there it was a new

thing uh so we have to wait on God

learning to wait on God to change our s

praying waiting for God to change

circumstances and then he's that's how

he speaks most of the time um then we

learned about how also the the

supernatural Yeshua knew from his

reading of scripture and also from the

character of God that there's no

examples of people in the scriptures

doing supernatural things just for

themselves just for fun just to prove it

just cuz they're hungry that all of

Yeshua's signs to feed people were all

in ser in ministry signs that he gave to

help others okay um so we learn we just

we're going through process of

discernment just like he does and it's

all about God testing what's in our

heart and that's where Yeshua finishes

with Deuteronomy 8:3 remember he humbled

you and let you be hungry and fed you

with mana which you did not know nor did

your fathers know this is a new stage in

in history at the Exodus okay and at new

stages in history god does supernatural

things but he does them right um that he

might make you understand that man does

not live by bread alone but man lives by

everything that proceeds out of the

mouth of the Lord and Yeshua's

conclusion

was if God wants to provide supernatural

food for me he would do that and speak

it i don't see it it hasn't happened god

has not spoken i'm going to walk a few

kilometers into the nearest village i'm

hungry i finish my fast i'll ask for

some bread i'll

say I'll pray and thank God for the

miraculous bread that we eat every day

and I'll be a normal human being okay

that's last time now with that

background okay we come to the second

temptation and this is where it gets

really I mean this was I mean he's

tested at a level that none of us are

ever going to be tested okay at that

level there's similarities but this is

really

really

nasty and clever what the devil does by

the way remember we talked about this

last time we know from the beginning of

the first verse of chapter 4 Matthew

tells us that it's the

devil okay we know but the whole point

of the testing is that Yeshua doesn't

know at the beginning he's in a process

of discernment as the son of God as our

high priest he has to go through

everything that we that we go through uh

so here we are the next temptation the

second one that's what the focus of

today's message is is going to be verses

5-7

then the devil took him there again we

know the devil took

him into the holy city and had him stand

on the pinnacle of the temple yeshua

said to him "Oh I'm sorry i I chopped

off that in my copy paste." And he hears

the v the the in his mind the verses

quoted from Psalm 91 11 and

12 cast yourself down the angels will

gather you in their hand they'll save

you okay jesus said to him "On the other

hand it is written you shall not put the

Lord God your God to the

test."

Wow we don't know exactly what happened

but remember Yeshua is somewhere down

there towards Jericho he's pretty far

from Jerusalem he's in the Judean

wilderness okay suddenly he's at the top

of the temple right over there

we're not told was that a total physical

experience was it in the spirit in other

words it could have been that his body

was still down there near Jericho but he

was but it whatever it is it's

real it's a real test by the way I

checked according to most researchers

the second temple the height the

pinnacle was about 50 m which is about

17 stories 16 17 stories so when you

look out the window here that's about

the height Yeah of the very top of the

temple and you can see down you can see

people it's not like people are little

ants you can see the people and if they

looked up they could see him okay but

it's a height that if you jump and you

know nothing miraculous happens splat

that's it you can call you're you're

going straight to wherever

um so that's where he is well this must

mean that God has spoken cuz it happened

right didn't I say that from the

previous

temptation if if if it happens and it's

super then then God has spoken

right maybe maybe not okay he's really

there he can feel the wind he can hear

the voices down there

and he that same place that same thought

comes to him and says

jump test God okay because it's

written the devil knows the

scriptures oh that's tricky he's been

around a long time he reads them i don't

know in what language Hebrew Greek

Chinese whatever but he can quote them

apparently and use them and mi and

misuse them all right that's what we'll

see so this is a big test right okay you

you say you're not you live only by the

word of God okay only by what God really

does here I'll give you a

supernatural there we are in Jerusalem

they Yeshua knew if he's the Messiah his

ultimate destiny is Jerusalem the temple

and supernatural things are going to

happen there all right this is really a

big test okay as we last time we went

through said okay as Yeshua would knows

the scripture the Holy Spirit helping

him he saw what Moses did at Mibba with

the rock and he instead of speaking to

it he whacked him in the book of numbers

and he got angry we talked about Elijah

and the ravens you remember supplying

him with supernatural food bread and and

meat morning and evening things that

happened supernaturally by way of

provision that neither Moses or Elijah

had to command to happen god did it

right we think okay if the Holy Spirit

is helping Yeshua go through the spir

sort of the the Tanakh the Old Testament

to tell okay what about this what about

is there any precedent for people

testing God in this way and the answer I

couldn't find anything i mean people I

don't know Moses tried to jump off Mount

Si or something i don't think I you know

people doing really dangerous things

intentionally and then expecting God to

just send the angels and save them no I

don't i mean it's it's hard to kind of

find a reference for that that's part

that's one thing is you this is

not this is not biblical this is not

what Moses did this is not what Elijah

did this is not what David did okay and

he and then he answers with this verse

from Deuteronomy 6 and I want us to go

there if you have the Bible remember

we've talked so much also when I was

teaching Romans 9:101 about when the

when there's these quotes in the New

Testament it's just one verse you got to

go back to the

original context and start reading and

you'll find oh this is referencing not

just that one verse but a bunch of other

things so if you go to Deuteronomy 6

okay which of course is also the Shama

and this is after the Shama um

Deuteronomy

6:10 I'll start

then it shall come about when the Lord

your God brings you into the land which

he swore to your fathers Abraham Isaac

and Jacob to give you great and splendid

cities which you did not build and

houses full of all good things which you

did not fill and huned sistns which you

did not dig vineard vineyards and olive

trees which you did not plant and you

eat and are

satisfied then watch yourself that you

do not forget the Lord who brought you

from the land of Egypt out of the house

of slavery you shall fear only the Lord

your God Yhovah your God and you shall

worship him and swear by his name you

shall not follow other gods any of the

gods of the peoples who surround you for

the Lord your God in the midst you in

the midst of you is a jealous God

otherwise the anger of the Lord your God

will be kindled kindled against you and

he will wipe you off the face of the

earth you shall not put the Lord your

God to the test that's what Yeshua

quotes okay as you tested him at

Masa Masa okay you should diligently

keep the commandments etc etc this is

referencing the similar event not the

one in Numbers but the first one in

Exodus 17 when the people complained

bitterly to Moses about the lack of

water they were really really thirsty

and they said "What did you bring us out

here to die in the wilderness?" Okay and

Moses and Aaron cry out to God this time

all right and he says "Take your staff

and go." And he the Lord says "I will

stand on the rock of of Hobb and water

will come from the rock." Okay and it

does and the people are

uh their thirst is quenched okay and

they're happy this is the test and now

this is really different than being at

the top of the temple and thinking of

jumping off okay

but the people think about it was just

the lack of faith god brought us out of

Egypt remember all the signs and wonders

the parting of the Red Sea you read in

Deuteronomy 6 he's promising us the

promised land he's going to take us in

there we're going to have victory we're

going to take over the land people have

prepared it for us miraculous things are

going to happen we're going to have a

great life just believe just keep on

going he's not going to let us die of

thirst that doesn't make sense right so

but they tested God because of their

lack of faith and that's what Yeshua

quotes okay now think we'll think about

that we'll talk about it a little bit

more as uh we go on but that was the the

test of the people of Israel which they

failed and now Yeshua is being tested

and he's going to pass and he's going to

pass with flying colors as we say

because he knows or we don't know how

much he knew exactly at this point

because you see a development in the

gospels of Yeshua starting to announce

what is going to happen at the end his

crucifixion and his

resurrection

okay

yeshua is going to go he's going he's

not testing God he's obeying God but

he's going to do something far more

miraculous than a few angels catching

you falling off a building and that's

that's pretty good what is Yeshua gonna

do what is he going to

do 3 years later he's going to die he's

going to allow himself to be

killed listen to this this is Matthew

27:39 yeshua on the cross

and you'll hear some similar language

from the temptations in the wilderness

at that time two rebels were being

crucified with him one on the right hand

and one on the

left and those passing by were speaking

abusively to him shaking their heads and

saying "You who are going to destroy the

temple and rebuild it in 3 days save

yourself if you are the son of God."

Have we heard that

before come down from the

cross do something

miraculous in the same way the chief

priests also along with the scribes and

elders were mocking him and saying "He

saved others he can't save

himself he's the king of Israel you're

the king of is if you're the king of

Israel come down from the cross and then

we'll believe in you

he's trusted in God let God rescue him

now if he takes pleasure in him they're

quoting scripture for he said "I am the

son of God." And the rebels who had been

crucified with him were also insulting

him in the same way think about

it yeshua who know he in his spirit he

knew this was coming so he's

saying Jerusalem the temple yeah that's

my destiny to to to destroy the temple

and start a whole new temple in my body

my resurrected body after three days but

it's not going to be like this it's not

going to be by jumping off and the

angels saving me and a few may How many

people are going to notice down there

maybe they'll notice maybe they don't no

no no no there's no quickies here we're

going into the land there's an

inheritance it's going to take some time

there's a process i've got to walk it

out and let God don't get ahead of God

let the Father do it he's going to do

some new things just like he did the

time of Mount Si the Exodus the

mana i don't have to work it up i don't

have to do anything

crazy sorry no thanks all right let's um

just look at some of the lessons okay

that we can learn for our own

discernment our own process of

discernment that we learned from this

incident from this second temptation the

first one is not all that glitters is

gold you've all heard that and not

everything supernatural is from

God

ah 2 Thessalonians 2 uh verse 10 then

the law or is it it says 8 through 10

but it's one verse i'm not sure which

one it is uh no it's 8 then that lawless

one will be revealed whom the Lord will

slay with the breath of his mouth and

bring to an end by the appearance of his

coming that is the one whose coming is

in accord with the activity of Satan

with all power and signs and false

wonders it's interesting he's going to

have power especially as we get towards

the end there's going to be signs and

false wonder what's a false wonder i'm

not sure does that mean it actually

happens but it's it's Satan did it and

so you got to be careful or it's a trick

that's not really happening but it's

like smoke and mirrors i don't

know but he's going to have power to

deceive a lot of people by supernatural

or things that look supernatural and we

have to be able to discern that that's

not God um then

um 2 Corinthians 11:14 no wonder for

even Satan disguises himself as an angel

of light angels angels we'll talk about

that in a little bit okay we've we are

not Satan can remember he doesn't come

to us with those like with the pitchfork

and the red suit okay that's not that's

too easy to discern he comes to us as an

angel of light power signs and wonders

he can quote scriptures all kinds of

things um you know I've when I talk

about this um I've noticed over the

years that a lot of where people get

mixed up with the prophetic which is a

supernatural thing uh and especially

people who are coming from a less

charismatic background who aren't used

to it and then they go to some meeting

where there's a prophet or a prophetic

person maybe it's their first time and

the person points them out and says

Um I see I I see you when you were 5

years old and you and your family got in

that car accident right and you

go right that's like supernatural

knowledge a person doesn't know anything

about me and they're pointing out

something that's true right when I was 5

years old I'm not me i'm just saying for

example I was this car accident there

was a traumatic thing in our family and

d

um and people then

assume because that's a

supernatural knowledge that then God

must be speaking and whatever the person

is going to say next to you must also be

from

God i've seen a lot of people get messed

up this way in the prophetic because

guess

what um people you know there are uh

I've spent a lot of time in the Far East

uh there's a long traditions there of

palm reading and uh tarot card reading

and all kinds of other you know

soothsayers and people we here even at

our house in downtown Jerusalem right

across our the alley is a yeshiva

synagogue and there's a a rabbi rabbi

Brener who teaches there um regularly

and people come from all over Israel and

he reads their palms he reads their

palms and prophesies and some people

believe that he has healing powers what

okay um you know now those people and

the ones who who are really good at it

and makes make big money you find them

on the internet horoscopes and all kinds

of do you think it's all

fake a lot of Christians think "Oh it's

all fake cuz it's demons it's not God."

No that people with a little intuition a

little prophetic sort of knowledge can

read sometimes what's happening in the

soul realm that's how I understand it

all right especially if this is why in a

lot of houses of prayer and pro

prophetic places they one of the things

they say is when you people come you

don't know them no prophesying about or

no words of knowledge about with women

especially about having children or

about marriage with men as single men

and women why because the people who

have a woman who is wanting for years

can't get pregnant can't have a child

there's a deep deep soul cry the prayer

that's been going on all for years in

that woman's soul like Hana okay and if

you're just a little you don't need a

lot of training okay you can be

intrigued believer unbeliever you can

pick you can you can sense that okay so

uh we have to be careful okay about how

what what kind of what we do with when

people have that kind of knowledge about

us so they see something it can be a

prophetic word from God it can't how do

we know we have to discern it you have

to listen to it record it write it down

um I

I always when I teach on this on on the

prophetic maybe the most important

scripture in all of of the New Testament

is Revelation 19:10

uh where John has there's a this huge

angel who's been showing him incredible

things and then it says I John fell at

his feet to worship him and he said to

me don't do that I'm a fellow servant of

yours and your brethren who hold the

testimony of Jesus worship God for the

testimony of Jesus is The spirit of

prophecy that means that whatever

prophetic word or insight someone brings

to you if it if what they do with it the

application of I saw this I see your

accident age fin and the trauma it went

through and they start preaching healing

in Jesus's name according to the

testimony of the

gospel of who Jesus is what he did what

he's doing what he does for us in our

lives according to the word of God then

it's kosher then it's from God okay

that's how you judge it if what they

that prophetic knowledge comes or or

that prophetic insight and then what

they do with it

is something speaks something that maybe

is bringing some comfort to you but it's

not according to the testimony of Yeshua

meaning it's a kind of comfort that says

you don't have to

suffer that's not the testimony of

Yeshua

yeshua had to go to the cross we have to

take up our cross we have to deny

ourselves this is the problem with the

what we call the prosperity gospel you

know what I'm talking about where a lot

of the messages God did he did it all

now you can just enjoy enjoy enjoy enjoy

all the blessings without any

suffering that's not the testimony of

Yeshua that's not a proper spirit a

prophetic spirit you know what I'm

talking about okay so that's just one of

the one of the examples you think of

where there can be something that is

supernatural

and that's okay someone sees something

but what the application what the the

message is is something you have to

discern and be careful of okay that's

the first lesson the second one is

Jerusalem

syndrome

remember Yeshua knows he He's grow he's

read the scriptures 40 days before he's

declared the son of God he hears that he

knows as the

Messiah he's going to be doing things

for a few years he maybe doesn't know

exactly how long but it's all going to

end up here in Jerusalem and at or near

the temple okay it has to because

Jerusalem is Jerusalem it's Zion the

promises of God there's so much in

scripture and we love preaching about it

and sharing about it here we are in

Jerusalem high up over Jerusalem and we

will share that with the world but you

know there's there's a flip side it can

also be a little bit dangerous it can be

like a drug actually in Zechariah it

says in the end of days he will make

Jerusalem a cup of trembling like a drug

to the nations okay a rock of rock of

stumbling as well

um that uh you know here in Jerusalem

we've got to be careful uh cuz it can it

can do some weird things have you ever

heard there's actually a

semi-csychotic experience that they call

Jerusalem syndrome it's on the

psychological books i did a little

research on it it was kind of

interesting there's the people who come

who already have been diagnosed with

some kind of

psychotic thing and then they just it

kind of gets worse that's we're not

talking about that we're talking about

regular normal people they said about

it's like 50/50 between Jews and non-

Messianic Jews and Christians um who

come here usually as part of a group

okay and they actually who's we have

tour guide here too you've been to tour

guide school did they teach you about it

it was saying that they made Yeah they

make sure the tour guides know what to

look for okay because the same it's like

clockwork it's the same thing happens

yeah it's against us okay um is a person

they're in a group and the person starts

to get a little anxious a little start

to act a little differently and then

they want to go separate they want to go

I've got to go pray i've got to go do my

thing right that's the first sign okay I

I need to the group's going I I have to

do something else right and then it h

then they the people become uh kind of

obsessed with purity and cleanliness

they start cutting their nails and

washing and showering all the time and

then they take the bed sheets from their

hotel and they make some kind of white

robe and again nobody's it's not like

they're watching it on YouTube and you

know someone you know oh this is how you

do it it's been happening for years few

people I don't know how many every year

right and they get and then they begin

to have delusions that they're a

biblical character right john the

Baptist Virgin Mary is a big one you

know my son

Jesus and it usually happens to single

it was interesting said 90 something%

it's single men or women i used to think

it was mostly women but actually the

stat says no it's evenly divided um by

the way you know it's interesting it

happens mostly to single single people

you know

inidiced Judaism they have a kind of

rule that is you're not allowed to study

Cabala which is mystical Judaism until

you're married and have one kid at least

one kid then of course they have 10 more

right but you know the the thinking is

if you're you know you got to be rooted

something about marriage family children

keeps you rooted in this world before

you go and start studying the mystical

charismatic stuff right uh so anyway

that's what happens Jerusalem syndrome

and then the people begin to have these

weird experiences and usually it's pre

they you know they take them away they

don't

there's a psychiatric hospital here for

a day just give them a little tranquil

little drug and they send them home and

they're fine and they come out of it

they're not it's not like a but it

happens now I'm not suggesting that's

happening to any of we have to be

careful and you know as things go on and

here in our group people we have all

kinds of people who come here You know

and I just say the people out there if

you're thinking of coming to Jerusalem

if you're alone and as this is

especially if you're alone as soon as

God is telling me to go and intercede it

may be but make sure you've got a group

your pastors leader people are blessing

you people are praying for you don't

come alone you know come with a group

cuz this is the universal center of

spiritual warfare here and weird things

can happen and we don't want them to

happen have it happen to anybody but

there's a good Jerusalem syndrome and

that is we're here we believe in God's

promises to Zion Jerusalem and we're

doing everything we can to hasten his

coming right over there to the Mount of

Olives hallelujah and he's going to be

in dressed in white whiter than the bed

sheets of any hotel hallelujah all right

shining like the sun

amen um that's so that's the the second

one the third lesson here from this this

temptation is rightly understanding the

word of God in

context now if anybody's been to

seminary in these modern times you learn

that historical grammatical contextual

interpretation of scripture in other

words you have to understand scripture

in its original context as best we can

the languages the culture the

archaeology all that kind of stuff okay

it's not something new it's what Yeshua

did right here with Psalm 91 or what the

Holy Spirit helped him to do with Psalm

91 okay so let's look at the kind

remember Psalm 91 11 and 12 that the

devil quotes to him in his mind that you

know just the angels are going to catch

you okay and he quotes accurately the

scripture here are the first two verses

of Psalm 91 when by the way in Hebrew in

those times they didn't have numbers on

the on the Bible there were no chapter

verse numbers they recognized the Psalms

by usually by their first line okay that

was like the title and so they would say

"Hey go to go to they wouldn't say go to

Psalm 91." They'd say go to

beton okay that's the the first line the

first words in Hebrew all right

the one who sits dwells in the secret

place or the secret of Eljon of the

highest and abides in his in Elshadai's

shadow and the one who says to

Jehovah this is verse two my stronghold

my fortress

Elohai my God I trust in him

all right that's the beginning of the

psalm the one who's seated and abiding

in the secret place of God you know this

whole thing about sitting Yeshua where

is he

today he's sitting down where at this

throne at the right hand of the father

in this the huge black hole in the

center of the universe that's what I

believe right we don't we have the

address by

prayer and he's bringing that throne

here the tabernacle of God will be with

men the new Jerusalem okay so he's there

he's sitting he's not standing what does

that

mean he's resting it's

done he's remember how confident he was

remember this is all about

identity if you're the son of God yeah

I'm the son of God i'm going to be

seated at the right hand of the father

okay the one who sits in the secret

place of the most high the one who is so

confident of his relationship with God

of his sunship of the adoption who's

seated that's how this starts for that

person for us as we stay in that place

of being children of God of grace not

needing to prove anything remember not

getting our ego involved then you read

the rest of Psalm 91 there's all kinds

of wonderful promises what he's going to

how he's going to save you and protect

you jumping off the top of the temple to

prove that God is going to save you come

on that's not that's not what this psalm

is about that's not the context of the

psalm who wrote this he wasn't writing

promises that you could just sort of

pull here and there and proof text and

put them on and go "Oh now here it says

I can just jump off and the angels are

going to catch

me." That's not how you read the

scripture

okay

um 2 Timothy 2:14 and 15 Paul says to

Timothy "Mind them of these things and

solemnly charge them in the presence of

God not to wrangle about words which is

useless and leads to the ruin of the

hearers be diligent to present yourself

approved to God as a workman who does

not need to be ashamed accurately

handling the word of

truth brothers and sisters we have to

study and it's not just proof text you

know what proof texting is you get an

idea and you take one verse and you say

sometimes that works sometimes you may

be taking the verse out of context and

making it say something that it's not

really saying he said people who wrangle

about words you know people get all

mixed up sometimes about the uh well the

Greek says this and the way and we need

to study that stuff and sometimes you

can miss what do they say miss the

forest for the trees you get focused on

details and words and you miss the whole

context of what the scripture is trying

to tell us that's what the devil was

trying to do to Yeshua he says "Okay we

want to talk about the word of God here

but I don't think Satan can properly

accurately quote the word of God he can

only lie." Okay but he can use the

scriptures and so we have to know and

understand that's why we study theology

what's the relationship between the old

and new and law and grace and the

gospels and the letters and all these

things okay we need to study we need to

know how to accurately handle and divide

the word of God so that we don't so that

the voices or whatever will not will not

deceive us the last thing the lesson

that I learned from this one I call it

the gospel over the

angels you know in the second temple

period there was a lot of stuff about

angels and there's all kinds of other

extra biblical Jewish literature about

all kinds of angelic stuff there was a

lot of angelic activity and peop and

Jewish people there were people who were

connecting with different angels and all

kinds of stuff and prayers to angels we

have one that's left over it's been left

with us for kabala Shabbat for Friday

night in Jewish tradition

shalom we sing this song which is the at

the beginning of Shabbat dinner or the

service in the synagogue where you're

welcoming it says we welcome the angels

to come maha say who make peace right

with the angels of the most high we say

come stay and then we say go okay we

sing that I in our house sometimes but I

also have to be a little careful with it

okay because we don't talk to angels we

don't need to they're there we don't

need to command them there's nothing in

the New Testament that tells you to

command angels right why because we we

have direct access to the King of Kings

and the Lord of Lords who sits at the

right hand of the throne he's the one he

he does he send the angels to do stuff

that we don't have to know about or see

some people have a gift for singing okay

um at the end of the third temptation in

verse 11 Matthew chapter 4 it says the

devil left him and behold the angels

came and began to minister to him yeshua

didn't invite them he didn't look for

them god sent them to minister to him

the son of man this is the other thing

people back in the second temple they

kind of worship the angels like we're

below the angels like they're higher

than us no psalm 8 he made us

temporarily it looks like we're made a

little lower than the angels but

actually because a son of because a man

is the son of God and we're human beings

we are higher than the angels it says in

the Corinthians that in the age to come

we are going to judge angels right so we

don't need to get mixed up trying to get

angels to you know that like they're

high like John when he saw in in

Revelation 19 he worships the angel the

angel says "No no no don't do that we're

just servants like you

guys." Um says Revelation 19 uh in

Hebrews 1:14 this is a verse I always

read or declare at the end of Shalom

after we sing that on on Friday night in

of Shabbat are they not all ministering

spirits it's talking about the angels

sent out to render service for the sake

of those who will inherit salvation

that's us god made the angels to serve

us not the other way around all right

um let's end with this i'm going to read

from 1 Corinthians 2

uh

6-10 and just keeping in mind what

Yeshua knew again we don't know how much

he knew at this stage but his knowledge

grew that he had to obey God and he was

going to obey God in Jerusalem he was

going to do things at the temple and he

was going to be

crucified the king of Israel crucified

the ultimate obedience the ultimate test

if you will of God okay a human being is

dead three days he can't there's no

formulas there's no prayers there's

nothing he can do you're dead and he's

saying "I I trust God i trust God i will

follow him unto death even the death of

the cross." And God raised him from the

dead among the mature however we speak a

message of wisdom but not the wisdom of

this age or of the rulers of this age

who are coming to nothing no we speak of

the mysterious and hidden wisdom of God

which he destined for our our glory

before time began none of the rulers of

this age understood

it if they had they would not have

crucified the Lord of glory rather as it

is written no eye has seen nor ear has

heard nor heart has imagined what God

has prepared for those who love him but

God has revealed it revealed it to us by

his spirit in other words Satan there in

the wilderness he's trying to tempt

Jesus he's trying to get Jesus to sin

he's trying to bring Jesus

down he

thought that when he crucified that was

it he didn't this was a

secret god had kept this secret satan

didn't know about it it's in the

scriptures but it's hidden right

and then when Yeshua rose from the dead

after he had descended into hell Satan

said

"Uhoh he won he won we didn't see it

coming."

Hallelujah so let's pray

lord it says in first Peter that the

prophets of old

searched by the Holy Spirit the time and

to know about your suffering and what

what the Messiah would do and it says

that they did these things by the Holy

Spirit things which the

angels want or long to see

into the mystery of the gospel this

hidden wisdom and Lord we thank you that

we have it that Yeshua knew it and he is

the author and finisher of our faith and

he was

obedient even unto death a terrible

death when they mocked him and and and

screamed at him just like Satan if

you're the son of God if you're the king

of show us something prove it come down

from the cross he said "No I know what

I'm doing i'm going to obey God until

the end." Lord help us to be such people

who do not love our lives even unto

death who have the blood of the lamb and

the word of our testimony which is how

we also overcome him and we thank you

that we can trust Lord help us to be

discerning people Lord in these times to

be first and foremost so confident

because of the word of God because of

the deep dwelling indwelling presence of

the Holy Spirit that we're so confident

in who we are as children of God that we

don't need to prove

anything and our ego is not and ego is

not involved in discerning your will

help us to study your word and to go

deeper and deeper thank you for Yeshua

the pioneer the author and finisher who

has just gone before us and was tested

at such a level Lord that none of us

could have survived but he did and by

his grace and by his spirit in us we can

overcome his will bishm Yeshua

on um can you comment on a popular

charismatic teaching car in the

charismatic community of which we are a

part um that we are to command angels to

do things i mean there are many people

that I have prayed with that have prayed

along those lines do you see any

scriptural authorization

said in in message I don't and I would

say this yeah I would say that we are

and from the example of Yeshua here um

we

generally as a doctrine do not do that

and don't need to do that because again

we're our prayers are directed to the

king of kings and he will speak and he

will change and he will send the angels

and they will do things um however I do

There is room for exceptions and people

can be led by the Holy Spirit to do

things usually one

time but what the problem with us is

that we tend to make we make a system

out of it yeah we make a dash like oh he

led me to do that once so that means now

I can do it all the time that's my

automatic thing and it's not and then

and then you're against the doctrine of

scripture all right another one is pray

is praying to the Holy Spirit for

charismatics this is very important um

the the general tendency of prayer in

the New Testament is to the father and

through Yeshua okay the worship in the

book of revelation is to the father and

to Yeshua you don't see people

worshiping the holy spirit or talking to

the holy or or praying holy spirit do

come holy spirit holy spirit that's a

doctrine okay so in our pray if someone

once here and there feels led to say

holy spirit holy spirit come okay but

we've watched I remember I was early

early on in my uh walk with the Lord

um I don't want to mention any names but

you'll know who it is uh someone wrote a

book a great charismatic healing

evangelist wrote a book called Good

Morning Holy Spirit i remember reading

the book and

going no that's not what the that's not

what the New Testament it teaches the

apostles didn't pray that way he didn't

relate to actually Derek Prince at the

end of his life said this was his

greatest concern about the in the move

in the charismatic movement of which he

was one of the the fathers and pioneers

was that the doctrine of the Holy Spirit

was getting weird and that they were

saying okay you can just relate to

because it's three persons it's like you

you know it's almost like you sort of go

okay in the morning holy spirit for

lunch the father and dinner I'll pray to

Jesus you know so like you pick them no

it's that's not that's not how they

prayed or worshiped So it's it's a

similar thing that they don't Yeah we're

not I don't see making commanding angels

as a as a regular thing that we do but

again if God leads you and you think and

it and there's some proof that it

happened great just don't make a a thing

out of it don't make a repetitive you

know on YouTube here I am i'll help you

command angels just like I do which is

what people

do yeah anybody else uh John you got

there you're just I've got two questions

but I'll ask my important one first um I

It's interesting i'm I'm kind of

flipping through while you're speaking

it's interesting to me that right when

Yeshua received the word from heaven

from the father you are my son that that

word was tested by the enemy three and

there's three if you are the son of God

exactly but then after that throughout

his ministry he gets those same

temptations so John 6 he says to the

people you you don't really want signs

you just want me to feed you again

basically you want me to make you more

bread miraculously miraculously and then

the Pharisees and Sadducees they've come

to test him show us a sign do these

things and it's the last temptation

about Yeshua bowing and worshiping Satan

the flip of that is the people want him

to succumb to their demands that you'll

overthrow Rome and be our king so we can

worship you and so it's just interesting

to me i I wonder if there's any

precedent to when we receive a genuine

word from the Lord about our identity

about who we are if it's first going to

be tested by Satan himself or the

demonic realm and once we've passed that

test we'll have more tests with men and

people i just I don't know it was

interesting to me that it happened in in

that flow of Yeshua's life any thoughts

to that um well I'd say yeah that yeah

the the p the pattern or the template of

Satan's temptations are are repeated the

same kind of things that's what I showed

at the end you know he's on the cross

and there they are screaming if you're

the son of God so yeah the same kind of

things happen for him and happen to us

um the second part about you know word

of God about our identity or who who we

are is that what I I think I mean

there's two there's the dimension of the

gospel truth to all of us which is your

the adoption as sons and daughters of

God that's what that's at the highest

level and that that we're constantly

tested on on how do we really believe

that are we willing to live that

confidently and what does that mean

right terms of the other things about

maybe our identity and calling in the in

the sort of lower maybe um but uh those

things you know I think you got to those

are prophetic things that we have to

discern and my experience is mostly

that if you you just have to walk out

your your life and faith and if it's

true it will it you'll see it happen you

know anyway this here John you want to

questions one is uh I was just talking

to a friend and he was talking about the

tabernacle in Moses tabernacle

And he was saying he was concerned that

people went uh just to the holy place

rather than holy of holies that is they

stop at Yeshua or holy spirit in manura

and the showbread but sometimes they

just stop there and they don't enter

into the father's presence they didn't

or or

now cuz in back then they couldn't only

the high priest once a year could yum

kipur could go into the holy is that

what you're talking about or more

prophetically spiritually for us now

I guess um yeah one thing is uh what I'm

hearing from him is that people stop at

Yeshua and Holy Spirit but not wait for

the father's glorious presence so so

yeah so that I found that was very

fascinating that maybe you know we have

been given access to the holy of holies

but maybe we stop premature you know um

and so I guess one of the questions I

have is

like how are we supposed to glorify the

father and the son we're supposed to

glorify both and it's like Yeshua came

to glorify the father but then the

father glorifies the son you know you

know at the mount of transfiguration and

baptism and so um I don't know any

comments on that sure well that come I

was I didn't wasn't part of the message

today but it relates to how I was

answering Sandy's question that yeah it

is in general the direction of biblical

prayer is to the father in the name of

which means through Jesus and again it's

not that the name is not the important

thing it's not how you pronounce the

name or like it's a magic thing you can

just God give me a million dollars in

Jesus's name you know like it's going to

happen because of the name it means who

he gospel it's the whole identity of who

he is and what he's done what he's doing

what he's going to do and and who I am

in that and that's how we pray there is

room and examples of glorifying and

worshiping Jesus but as I was saying the

Holy Spirit says Jesus said of the Holy

Spirit he glorifies me he reveals me

he's the Derek Prince said he is the

Holy Spirit is God the

servant who does not draw attention to

himself right um but he just reveals you

know the Holy Spirit has been there when

we're in worship and there's that sense

of the presence of God and the

revelation of Jesus that the holy that's

the holy the Holy Spirit did that but he

doesn't go

Prince one one more question maybe from

a I'm sorry I just have one other

question really quick two at the

beginning but this would be three but

it's all right we love you come a long

way yeah um there was a charismatic um

preacher he said that he saw in the

spirit realm he said when he spoke about

himself the angels would leave but when

the he spoke about Yeshua the angels

would come you know um and I feel like

you know one thing is that uh Lucifer

for he worshiped initially God but then

that turned toward self gaze or self-

worship and I feel like that's so

dangerous that you know that we could

all be vulnerable for that yeah and that

the spirit of antichrist is not to get

against Christ but replacing Christ with

something else or someone else and so

like I feel like that's yeah very

important to discern yeah of Satan was

his pride and his his pride also his

sense of competition with Yeshua i think

that's I mean you read in Ezekiel and

Isaiah you know this prophecies of the

king of Ty and that

that this Lucifer Satan was a maybe the

highest of all the angels and leading

the heavenly worship

but when he saw that there was Jesus the

son of man

receiving praise and worship he he got

jealous because he's as an angel you

can't worship the angels they can't be

worshiped and other than the father the

father said there's only one there's one

being in the universe who can share my

glory and I've committed everything to

him and you can worship him and that's

my son Yeshua that's it anything else

anybody else forbidden one more from

saying how no prophet did a miracle for

themselves and so I was wondering about

the example of Elijah and Elisha where

right before Elijah's taken up to heaven

he hits the Jordan River and it splits

correct i think I got that right and um

and then they go through and so I'm

thinking like oh that's very convenient

they didn't have to swim they didn't

have to find a bridge but it doesn't

seem like necessary or for the people it

was kind of for themselves even though

or for it was for

Alisha that's what you're saying they

were together right eli Ela of Elisha

were together

yes right so I would say that Eli Yahu

did things

to increase to demonstrate to Elisha to

pass it on to him but yeah that's that's

the closest example maybe of being but

there he's not alone he's not in other

words there's not Eli if Elijah is just

alone he comes to the Jordan River and

says I don't want to

swim you know or I'm hungry you know we

this we don't we don't see the examples

of that so there's at least there's one

other person that he's doing something

to to serve to build up to pass on to

his his uh

successor by himself to the other

prophets yeah there you go there you

his mother and she told everybody there

especially in Luke in Luke yeah in Luke

there's all they developed that from the

book of Luke that it seems like they had

to interview Mary but which makes sense

it could have
