Roppongi Station Local Guide & New teamLab in Azabudai Hills, is it Worth Visiting? Ep.503

Hey guys! Today, we are in
Tokyo Metro Roppongi Station.

We are heading to the new teamLab today.

We have visited the teamLab in Odaiba,
and it was amazing.

So, new teamLab will be amazing as well.

We still have time until the
reservation time.

So firstly, let's go to Roppongi Hills,
and let me show you Roppongi.

if you are heading to Roppongi Hills,
you need to use the Exit 3.

There is a sign in the station.

By the way, if you are heading to
Tokyo Midtown, Exit 7 & 8.

That's a different exit though.

If you are heading to the Mori Art
Museum, also this is the way to go.

There is a coin locker in the station.

However, seems like all the big
coin lockers are already occupied.

Smaller one still available though.
But it's weekday.

So probably, on the weekend,
all of them will be occupied.

If you get out from the Exit 3,
this is how it looks like.

There's a Roppongi intersection.

And if you heading to the Mori Biru,
this is the way to go.

This is the signature spot of Roppongi.
Roppongi intersection.

There is a sign of Roppongi.

Yes. One of the picture spot.

By the way, Tokyo Midtown
is located in North part.

And also, Azabudai Hills, which is the
new teamLab located in south.

You see the tall building in front
of you, next to the Tokyo Tower?

That's Azabudai Hills.

That's the place we are heading to later.

Firstly, let's walk toward to
Roppongi Hills.

Roppongi is one of the most popular
travel spot in Japan.

However, compared to Shinjuku and
Odaiba, it is a bit different.

Shinjuku and Shibuya, there are many
stores and restaurants. Also, buildings.

However, in Roppongi, there are several
very popular buildings.

And there are so many stores
inside the building.

But except that, there are only
restaurants and drinking bars.

So for me, Roppongi is more like
drinking place

with the fancy shopping street.

Entrance of Roppongi Hills,
this is the way to go.

There is an elevator, too.

So even you are with luggage,
you don't have to worry.

And yes, that's Roppongi Hills.

Speaking of Roppongi Hills, Mori Biru,
it is an office building.

There are many finance, IT,
and gaming company inside.

It is a very popular anime in Japan.

Yeah, I believe whoever grew up in Japan,
grew up with this anime, Doraemon.

And it's one of the signature spot
of Roppongi, the spider.

Also... Ooh! Look at that!

I totally didn't realize...

There are so many Doraemons here.

Maybe they are doing some
anniversary of Doraemon.

Haha... So cute.

Haha... Usually, this spider sculpture is
the most popular picture spot

in Roppongi.

But seems like today,
Doraemon is more popular.

Anyways, let's keep walking.

Oh, I see.

So today, seems like they are having
TV station's summer festival.

That's the reason why so
many Doraemons is here.

No wonder.

If you are heading to the Mori Art Museum
or Observatory, there is the entrance.

Speaking of Observatory, entrance fee
cost 1,800 Japanese yen.

You can see the nice view from there.

Oh, seems like they are having
the Monster Hunter event.

We can see Azabudai Hills from here.

It looks super close,
but little bit far though.

Today, we don't have ticket,
so we can't enter until here.

In the busy season, there's a line.

But seems like today,
not that many people here.

Oh, what's that?

Seems like there is a temporary new store.

That's a beer stand.

There are so many cute Doraemon food.

And also, there are many interesting
pro wrestling, "pro resu," food.

There are tatami and also many tables.

Very nice atmosphere.

And this place, because of AC,
feels much cooler.

Let's go inside.

Inside, they are many luxury shopping
place and nice atmosphere.

I'm not a big shopping person, so...

Let's go to the next spot.

Ah, interesting.

They are having the burger festival.

there are so many different
kinds of burgers.

Look at this wagyu 100% burger.
That looks good.

And with beef patti. Looks good, too.

The price is good, too,
3,800 Japanese yen.

Oh, really? They have the uni burger.

I'm not sure about the taste though.

And I guess this is the
most unique burger.

It's a Summer French Burger.

festival in Azabudai Hills, too.

This A5 wagyu steak burger with truffle,
3,800 Japanese yen.

That sounds interesting as well.

However, already, we spent 4,000
Japanese yen for the teamLab ticket.

So... It is just too fancy for today.

Except the shopping place,
there is a nice park here.

It's the Mori Garden.

By the way, "garden" in Japanese, "teien."

It's the fancy park.

For Mori Garden, we can
just follow the sign.

It's located in basement floor.

Oh, sweet. Here's another Doraemon here.

I said it's in the basement floor.

But it is the... Basically,
the ground level.

You know, this kind of places, always
the level of the floor, confusing.

This Mori Garden named after the
astronaut Dr. Mamoru Mohri.

There is space medaka (killifish) here.

By the way, "space" in Japanese
called "uchu."

Well, I always try to find
space medaka here,

but always they're hiding pretty well.

Well, even though without medaka,

this place's atmosphere, pretty nice,
so I like this place.

And here, there is a TV Asahi building.

It is one of the biggest
TV station in Japan.

Okay, seems like they have the
summer festival around here.

By the way, they have the beer
with 400 Japanese yen.

Compared to other place,
it's a nice price, huh.

Let me introduce Tokyo Midtown Roppongi.

From Roppongi Hills to Tokyo Midtown,
it takes about 10 minutes by walking

So, let's keep walking.

Since there are so many tall buildings
in Roppongi,

in the backstreet, there are
strong wind with many shades.

So, it's much easier to walk.

Well, I'm not sure maybe because of
there are so many tall buildings

or maybe because it's just a windy day.

I love this kind of day.

Now, we are walking back
toward to the intersection.

That's where we were.

And this is the street
next to the main street.

So, if you want to walk this street,

just go to the one street away
of the main street.

Now, we came back to the station entrance.

And the intersection is over there.

From Roppongi intersection,
we need to walk north.

From this side, there is a sculpture
with Roppongi sign.

And also, you can see the Mori Biru.
So, maybe better picture spot.

Speaking of Roppongi area,

basically, all the restaurants
are expensive.

However, if you come to this street,

there are many cheaper
chain restaurants as well.

For example, this place, you can eat
the soba with tempura

as cheap as 480 Japanese yen.

And 630 Japanese yen for
soba and tempura bow.

If you want to have the shrimp tempura,
it's 790 Japanese yen.

Still, I think it's a pretty good price.

Also, there is Hidakaya,

which is a really popular Chinese food
chain restaurant.

They have Chinese food with
very reasonable price.

Plus, beef bowl restaurant, Matsuya.

It's like Yoshinoya.

And here is another exit of Roppongi.

And we arrived to Tokyo Midtown building.

basically it's a fancy shopping

street like Loni

Hills but this place they have a bigger

Park so I like this area better and

downstairs there are many restaurants as

well it has nice atmosphere with nice

bamboo tree sweet well to be honest this

shopping mall for me it's just too fancy

so I always just come up over here for

walking and enjoying the

atmosphere yep look at this

Fountain yes it is something

fancy I saw there is some small event in

the garden so let's walk in the

garden the entrance is right next to the

building here we

entrance during the Christmas season

this place lighted up with Christmas

lights very beautifully so I love

walking here during winter as well oh

reasons why this place is so popular for

iconic spot that you can see the Tokyo

Tower so you can take a nice photo and

two usually this South part of area of

Tokyo in many restaurants you can use

English this minat area there is a big

english- speaking Community here so

people whoever comes to Japan for work

who doesn't speak Japanese much usually

people live around here there is a

discounted store donkey Hotel here too

well I said it is a really popular area

to live in Tokyo but at the same time it

is one of the most expensive area to

live in Tokyo here we go we are already

in front of the assapai hills it took

about 15 minutes by walking from rongi

intersection last time when we were here

it was a time when this aabu Hills just

opened still there are many stores are

under construction however it's been a

while so I believe there will be a many

new store well last time when I was here

there are so many people here but today

seems like not that many though how

pretty similar compared to the other

shopping malls nice atmosphere with

floor there is a nice fancy

books maybe you can come over here there

in Japanese

though interesting there is a famima but

this family Mark is a bit different

compared to the other place the one

unique thing about here there is a free

water refill bar and you can refill the

free sparkling water yes free sparkling

water it's nice they also sell the nuts

other Cafe it's much cheaper so I like

here and also we can see the Tokyo Tower

beauti fre from here too well I usually

didn't come over to this aab Hills much

but uh

huh I think this place is a my new

hidden spot well it is a very popular

spot but you know since no one is here

so and is a hit

better View From The Observatory so

when I was here it was closed and I

couldn't go to the observatory hopefully

today it is open though you can enter

from this office area we can go from

expensive compared to the toyos team

love aab team love was amazing as well

however if you haven't visited the toyos

team love yet I definitely recommend you

to go to the toyos team love first well

asaba Hills team love is Big too but

compared to toyos team lab I feel like a

little bit smaller also the team lab in

toyosu there was a water and uh you know

you can walk over there and you can

enter to the water as well well until

the needle well so maybe if you don't

want to get wet probably you can go to

the asab team love because it's located

in a very useful place right next to the

rongi anyways either one it was the

amazing experience so if you visit Japan

maybe you can try the team love planet
