Hello, I'm Allison and welcome to
-
Pechanga Resort Casino.
-
Today, we're going to learn how to play
-
pai gow poker.
-
The object of the game is for the player
-
to create two poker hands with the seven
-
cards. They've been dealt
-
a two card low hand and a five card high
-
hands.
-
What makes this game stand out from
-
other poker games is that a 53 card deck
-
is used.
-
A standard plus one joker the joker can
-
be used by players to complete a hand
-
such as a straight
-
flush straight flush or as nace
-
it can be used as the highest ranking
-
card that is needed.

-
Another thing to note is that the
-
players are not playing against each
-
other. They are playing against the
-
dealer.
-
Players will begin by placing their
-
desired bets in the designated betting
-
circle.
-
These two rectangles are where players
-
will place their two hands.
-
A two card low hand and a five card high
-
hand.
-
Dice are used to determine where the
-
cards will begin to be dealt.
-
Each seat on the table is assigned a
-
number the dealer is seat one.
-
The counting will continue
-
counterclockwise. For example, if the
-
dealer rolls a six, then seat
-
six will get the first hand dealt to
-
them and the rotation will continue
-
counterclockwise. Cards are dealt on all
-
betting spots, so don't think the dealer
-
is losing it because they're placing
-
cards where nobody is playing
-
after all the hands have been dealt the
-
dealer will collect the cards belonging
-
to the empty spots.
-
The players may now look at their cards
-
and create any two poker hands.

-
Note that the low hand can either be a
-
high card rank or
-
a pair. Once a player has set their cards
-
they are no longer allowed to touch or
-
alter them.
-
After the dealer has assembled their two
-
poker hands, according to the house way
-
they will now compare their hand to that
-
of each players. Both the low and the
-
high hand
-
must be a win to be considered a winner,
-
and vice versa,
-
it is important to note the ranking of
-
the high hand must be higher than the
-
low hands.
-
If you don't follow this rule, it will be
-
considered a foul hand
-
and will result in an automatic loss.
-
If one hand loses while the other wins
-
regardless of which does which
-
the hand will be declared a push money
-
is neither lost nor won here,
-
winning hands are paid even money minus
-
a five percent commission.
-
You will notice a circle labeled fortune
-
bonus which is a side bet that pays
-
based on the value of the player seven
-
cards.
-
If you choose to place a fortune bonus
-
at the start of play and win,
-
you will be paid odds on the highest
-
winning hand.
