Speaking on the CBS segment Face the Nation on Sunday, Save the Children CEO Janti Soeripto said that the organisation had been unable to get any aid into Gaza since the full blockade began on 2 March because Israel had refused to give them authorisation.

Soeripto also called US efforts to distribute aid through sites run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) rather than through aid organisations "completely ineffective and inadequate", warning of the pending possibility of "mass starvation".

Her words come as Palestinians across the Gaza Strip are starving amid the failed launch of the GHF distribution scheme, amid several cases of Israeli forces opening fire on Palestinians seeking aid.
