  • 0:09 - 0:14
Bett is wonderful. For schools and school leaders, also students, also for teachers.
  • 0:15 - 0:18
Bett is brilliant, we've been attending for few years.
  • 0:18 - 0:21
I've had a very busy day, I've done a lot of presenting, talking
  • 0:21 - 0:26
but it's fantastic and often not so much the technology but actually the conversations with people
  • 0:26 - 0:30
and picking up tips from people is, and the network, and it is what is all about.
  • 0:31 - 0:33
Technology is important in pretty much everything.
  • 0:33 - 0:37
Education is a part that's been left behind for quite some time.
  • 0:37 - 0:42
It's time now to take in the technology to enable the students to actually get things done
  • 0:42 - 0:46
the different way and it's not just about the students but about the teachers as well.
  • 0:46 - 0:51
Using that technology in the best way so the students can actually get out there
  • 0:51 - 0:57
and get the best out for themselves rather than the traditional method where the teacher actually just provides the information.
  • 0:57 - 1:03
It's more about teachers enabling students through technology to get the information.
  • 1:03 - 1:08
So for us the iPad and technology is a tool. And like any tool it does nothing but let you use it,
  • 1:08 - 1:12
but if you use it properly we see it as a catalyst to deeper learning
  • 1:12 - 1:17
It's not a magic wand it won't solve the world's problems. It won't make students bully to everything,
  • 1:17 - 1:22
but we do think it's a catalyst used to speed up their acquisition of key ideas.
  • 1:22 - 1:27
It will improve their learning, you know, it's used to develop better teaching
  • 1:27 - 1:31
One of the key things with the teachers at the moment, especially in the UK
  • 1:31 - 1:35
is that they have very little time to do the kind of cool stuff they want to do.
  • 1:35 - 1:39
They've got an awful lot of work to actually do
so Explain Everything allows them to kind of
  • 1:39 - 1:43
minimize the amount of time they spend on
preparing for lessons. With it's organic nature
  • 1:43 - 1:47
the ability of taking photos in the lesson
the ability to really quickly record
  • 1:47 - 1:53
and create wonderful presentations. Putting all of that inside a lesson saves them time
  • 1:53 - 1:58
and reduces their workload, and it means that they can focus on the cool stuff, like preparing and making
  • 1:58 - 1:59
    interesting lessons.
  • 1:59 - 2:03
It allows you to do things that you weren't able to do before
  • 2:03 - 2:07
and I think that's powerful. It's the tool of the future, you know?
  • 2:07 - 2:10
It amplifies your ability to do things.
  • 2:11 - 2:14
We're a very large academy in the UK and Explain Everything is one of the
  • 2:14 - 2:18
very first apps that we bought. We don't buy many paid apps for the students.
  • 2:18 - 2:22
Only two or three, but that is the main one that we do buy. We also love
  • 2:22 - 2:27
technology, particularly things like Explain Everything as a way to develop student's independence.
  • 2:27 - 2:33
We use Explain Everything in my school and I believe it's a fantastic tool for learning. Both from a
  • 2:33 - 2:36
teacher perspective and from a student perspective as well.
  • 2:36 - 2:47
Of course I was familiar with Explain Everything. I love it. We use it a lot and we use it to create and to visualize knowledge.
  • 2:48 - 2:54
The fact that students can speak, and they can write, and draw and be able to kind of tell their story.
  • 2:54 - 3:01
I think that's a really powerful thing. I think it allows us to measure the cognitive development of children.
  • 3:01 - 3:06
Because you can't just cut and paste something from somewhere. You've really got to be able to explain.
  • 3:06 - 3:14
I think it's one of the few tools that allows students to focus on their academic abilities,
  • 3:14 - 3:24
but at the same time is developing their creativity. Of course for teachers, it's a fantastic tool of making videos in a simple and reliable way.
  • 3:24 - 3:26
I think it's really really powerful.
  • 3:27 - 3:34
Being able to get to the core of it and be able to explain others. The cool thing about teaching, me being a teacher,
  • 3:34 - 3:40
the one thing that drives me is passing on that knowledge. And if students can do that, that's absolutely awesome to me.
  • 3:40 - 3:45
And especially through an app like this that's so simple to pick up and easy to embed within schools.
  • 3:45 - 3:46
    It's a brilliant app.
  • 3:46 - 3:54
Especially the last four years we are using Explain Everything in our schools.
  • 3:54 - 3:56
It's our fifth grade, sixth grade, seventh grade,
  • 3:56 - 4:05
and eight grade. And also our high schools. Explain Everything is in the center of our iPad projects.
  • 4:06 - 4:12
I like very much the search, to search online and then add it inside the web browser
  • 4:12 - 4:19
that you can put it inside. It gives you all kinds of opportunities. It's actually like, the mother of all apps.
  • 4:19 - 4:23
You can do almost anything with this.
  • 4:23 - 4:27
I'm in love with Explain Everything.
