The Los Angeles Riots Were Well Planned

  • 0:00 - 0:03
    Los Angeles is on fire
  • 0:03 - 0:04
    again.
  • 0:04 - 0:08
But who’s really behind these protests?
  • 0:08 - 0:10
Welcome to America Uncovered, I’m Matt Gnaizda,
  • 0:10 - 0:12
    filling in for Chris Chappell,
  • 0:12 - 0:15
who is currently trapped in his
    car surrounded by angry protesters.
  • 0:15 - 0:17
    Before we begin,
  • 0:17 - 0:22
in 2025, more than half of
    companies are already using AI.
  • 0:22 - 0:24
    Microsoft, Amazon, Google —
  • 0:24 - 0:26
    they’ve
all laid off thousands of people.
  • 0:26 - 0:30
And 40% of people fear AI
will take their job this year.
  • 0:30 - 0:34
    It sounds scary. But here’s
    what you’re not seeing:
  • 0:34 - 0:36
These same companies are also hiring.
  • 0:36 - 0:40
    Hiring people who understand
AI and can use AI tools.
  • 0:40 - 0:44
If you have a job, run a business, freelance,
or are building something of your own,
  • 0:44 - 0:48
knowing how to use AI is not optional anymore.
  • 0:48 - 0:51
    The people who learn AI
    will outrun those who don’t.
  • 0:51 - 0:53
So if you want to stay ahead,
  • 0:53 - 0:56

recommend you start learning AI today.
  • 0:56 - 1:00
    Specifically, I recommend you join
    this upcoming 2-day AI training.

    session for the 2-day Training
  • 1:54 - 1:57
happens this Friday at 10 am
eastern time, so don't miss it.
  • 1:57 - 1:58
    Back to the show.
  • 1:58 - 2:03
    Over the weekend, Los Angeles
    erupted in civil unrest.
  • 2:03 - 2:08
It started on Friday when ICE began
    conducting raids across the city.
  • 2:08 - 2:10
    Almost immediately, protestors
    flooded the streets,
  • 2:10 - 2:13
    with massive protests breaking
    out in different areas.
  • 2:13 - 2:16
So far, nothing too out of the ordinary.
  • 2:16 - 2:19
And a bit of looting. Can’t have
    a proper protest until you’ve
  • 2:19 - 2:24
smashed through a door and swiped a few cases
of Modelo from your local convenience store!
  • 2:24 - 2:27
    Still, nothing out of the
    ordinary for Los Angeles.
  • 2:27 - 2:31
But as confrontations with agents and
LAPD really started to really pick up,
  • 2:31 - 2:35
    protesters upped their game and
    started making molotov cocktails.
  • 2:35 - 2:37
By the way, this is not Home
    Depot product placement.
  • 2:37 - 2:41
    Meanwhile, ICE agents outside the
    entrance to a detention center
  • 2:41 - 2:44
were forced to deal with protesters for hours.
  • 2:44 - 2:48
It got so bad that even moving
    through the city became dangerous,
  • 2:48 - 2:52
with one protester being run over as he
attempted to block a government convoy.
  • 2:52 - 2:57
Man, we got real life GTA 5 before we got GTA 6.
  • 2:57 - 2:59
    And that was just between
    protestors and the authorities!
  • 2:59 - 3:02
Let’s not forget all the violence
    committed against businesses and
  • 3:02 - 3:04
people just trying to live their lives!
  • 3:04 - 3:07
We saw protestors burning Waymo cars…
  • 3:07 - 3:09
Which forced them to suspend services in LA.
  • 3:09 - 3:12
As one local news station reported:
  • 3:12 - 3:13
    “It could turn very volatile
  • 3:13 - 3:16
    , if you move
law enforcement in there the wrong way,
  • 3:16 - 3:20
turning what is just a bunch of
people having fun watching cars burn,
  • 3:20 - 3:24
into a massive confrontation and altercation.”
  • 3:24 - 3:27
    Yeah, a bunch of people
    having fun watching cars burn.
  • 3:27 - 3:29
    It’s nothing to worry about,
  • 3:29 - 3:31
    as
long as police don’t get involved!
  • 3:31 - 3:34
The media assures us everything is fine.
  • 3:34 - 3:36
“Most of those demonstrators were very peaceful.”
  • 3:36 - 3:39
Are the people who write the
    news on strike or something?
  • 3:39 - 3:41
I’m getting really sick of reruns.
  • 3:41 - 3:44
In any case, Trump wasn’t buying it.
  • 3:44 - 3:46
Being a man known for his calm demeanor,
  • 3:46 - 3:49
the president put out a plan to
bring peace back to the city.
  • 3:49 - 3:50
    “I have a little statement.
  • 3:50 - 3:54
They say, ‘they spit, we hit.’”
  • 3:54 - 3:56
Well, that’s one way of putting it.
  • 3:56 - 4:00
That’s why on Saturday, Trump called
    on the California National Guard,
  • 4:00 - 4:04
    ordering 2,000 troops into
the city to end the riots.
  • 4:04 - 4:07
    Additionally, federal pressure triggered
    the Los Angeles Police Department
  • 4:07 - 4:09
to step up its own operations,
  • 4:09 - 4:13
    with LAPD officers
taking a more active role in keeping the peace.
  • 4:13 - 4:16
So with all this chaos going
    on, you might be asking,
  • 4:16 - 4:17
    “Who’s behind all this?
  • 4:17 - 4:20
    Are
    these just spontaneous protests?”
  • 4:20 - 4:22
For a lot of middle class Angelinos who joined in,
  • 4:22 - 4:25
yeah, it might have felt spontaneous at first.
  • 4:25 - 4:27
    ICE is deporting illegal immigrants,
  • 4:27 - 4:31
and they’re not treated to the same
due process that American citizens get.
  • 4:31 - 4:33
What could be better than taking to the streets
  • 4:33 - 4:36
with your friends for a good
    cause on a sunny afternoon?
  • 4:36 - 4:37
And then it just got out of
    hand.
  • 4:37 - 4:39
    Nobody’s fault, right?
  • 4:39 - 4:40
    Well, no.
  • 4:40 - 4:44
These protests were anything but spontaneous.
  • 4:44 - 4:45
    Have you considered, for instance,
  • 4:45 - 4:49
who had the forethought to print out
all the glossy signs and hand them out?
  • 4:49 - 4:50
    Well, that’s an easy one - .
  • 4:50 - 4:54
    the Party
for Socialism and Liberation, or PSL
  • 4:54 - 4:55
Stop me if this sounds familiar:
  • 4:55 - 4:58
    PSL
    is a revolutionary communist party
  • 4:58 - 5:04
    which seeks to abolish capitalism
and usher in a new socialist utopia.
  • 5:04 - 5:08
    Its leadership is deeply
    intertwined with outfits like
  • 5:08 - 5:11
    the ANSWER Coalition, Breakthrough
    News, and The People’s Forum.
  • 5:11 - 5:14
And those groups get a large
    part of their funding
  • 5:14 - 5:17
    from multimillionaire tech mogul
    Neville Singham.
  • 5:17 - 5:18
    Remember him?
  • 5:18 - 5:20
    Our sister channel, China Uncensored,
  • 5:20 - 5:21
actually did a whole episode on him ,
  • 5:21 - 5:24
    and
his involvement with the Gaza protests
  • 5:24 - 5:26
    which took over American campuses.
  • 5:26 - 5:30
To keep things brief, Singham made his
millions by selling his tech company,
  • 5:30 - 5:33
Thoughtworks, and later served as a
    consultant
  • 5:33 - 5:35
for the Chinese tech giant, Huawei.
  • 5:35 - 5:40
He went on to form a network of shady
nonprofits that spike tensions within the US,
  • 5:40 - 5:42
    while at the same time,
  • 5:42 - 5:44
    shilling
    for the Chinese Communist Party.
  • 5:44 - 5:46
    Now, that’s pretty bad.
  • 5:46 - 5:49
    But we
can’t blame everything on the CCP.
  • 5:49 - 5:52
    I know, Xi, I know.
  • 5:52 - 5:57
The thing is, some of these groups are merely
inspired by the Chinese Communist Party!
  • 5:57 - 6:02
Take Refuse Fascism, which has also
    been organizing protests within LA.
  • 6:02 - 6:07
Refuse Fascism is itself a branch of the
    Revolutionary Communist Party, or RCP.
  • 6:07 - 6:13
The RCP was formed in 1975 as an
    anti-revisionist Maoist party.
  • 6:13 - 6:17
Because, you know, Nikita Kruschev just
wasn’t bloodthirsty enough for their liking.
  • 6:17 - 6:20
Guess all that Pepsi he was
    drinking quenched his thirst.
  • 6:20 - 6:24
    Refuse Fascism was created in
    2016 for the explicit purpose
  • 6:24 - 6:27
of driving President Trump out of office.
  • 6:27 - 6:29
But seeing as Trump is back in office,
  • 6:29 - 6:31
I don’t see the reason for all the hate.
  • 6:31 - 6:37
I mean, if your entire organization
exists just to oppose this one guy,
  • 6:37 - 6:40
    you’d think they’d be happy he’s
    giving them something to do.
  • 6:40 - 6:44
It’s like your favorite show getting a
reboot after years of being cancelled.
  • 6:44 - 6:45
Guess we’ll have to wait and see if the King of
  • 6:45 - 6:48
    the Hill reboot garners an
    equally violent response.
  • 6:48 - 6:52
    Now there’s a whole constellation
of groups fueling these LA riots,
  • 6:52 - 6:54
and to try and unpack the ideologies and
  • 6:54 - 6:57
funding of each of them would take hours.
  • 6:57 - 6:59
But I’ll give you one more example to show
  • 6:59 - 7:02
    you that these protests are
    not just about deportations.
  • 7:02 - 7:07
    In large part, they’re about
    overthrowing capitalism.
  • 7:07 - 7:09
Let’s talk about Unión del Barrio.
  • 7:09 - 7:13
    Imagine a sort of Latin-inspired
    Black Lives Matters.
  • 7:13 - 7:17
They put out emergency calls for protests
after ICE started making its rounds,
  • 7:17 - 7:20
referring to the agents as “terrorists”.
  • 7:20 - 7:24
    Now this one’s especially fun
because not only are they communists,
  • 7:24 - 7:26
    they’re racist communists.
  • 7:26 - 7:27
Just look at their party program.
  • 7:27 - 7:30
It claims “We are Raza Internationalists.”
  • 7:30 - 7:32
    So, what is “raza?”
  • 7:32 - 7:34
Well, that’s the Spanish word for “race.”
  • 7:34 - 7:37
But in this case, it’s a broad selection of
    Latino
  • 7:37 - 7:39
    and indigenous ethnic groups seeking
  • 7:39 - 7:43
    independence from so-called “settler-colonialism.”
  • 7:43 - 7:44
    Their manifesto continues,
  • 7:44 - 7:49
“We are La Raza, the people of these
lands, and we challenge any and all
  • 7:49 - 7:54
    manifestations of colonial,
    imperialist, and neoliberal oppression.”
  • 7:54 - 7:57
Basically, they want to create an ethnostate.
  • 7:57 - 7:59
Now, when a handful of White people in Appalachia
  • 7:59 - 8:03
whose taco night includes Old El
Paso hard shells and sour cream
  • 8:03 - 8:05
    says that, everyone’s appalled.
  • 8:05 - 8:10
But if it’s Latinos in LA who use soft
corn tortillas and slow-cooked al pastor?
  • 8:10 - 8:13
    Well, that’s social justice!
  • 8:13 - 8:14
    Now, you may be asking,
  • 8:14 - 8:16
    “But where’s the communism
  • 8:16 - 8:18
    ?” Don’t
    worry, there’s plenty of that.
  • 8:18 - 8:24
Unión del Barrio defines itself as an
“anti-colonial fight for land and socialism.”
  • 8:24 - 8:28
    And their website even celebrates
    such communist icons as
  • 8:28 - 8:32
Fidel Castro, Che Guevara, and Hugo Chavez.
  • 8:32 - 8:35
Sure, they’re some of the greatest mass
murderers this side of the Atlantic.
  • 8:35 - 8:40
But America is a land of racist White
    settler-colonial capitalist pigs!
  • 8:40 - 8:44
    Just please, PLEASE don’t
deport us to Cuba or Venezuela!
  • 8:45 - 8:47
And with all this chaos going on in Los Angeles,
  • 8:47 - 8:49
I’m sure that back in Beijing,
  • 8:49 - 8:52
    Xi
Jinping is having a good laugh.
  • 8:52 - 8:56
And don’t get left behind when everyone
else is learning how to use AI.
  • 8:56 - 9:00

  • 9:00 - 9:02
