Hi. This is a short tutorial to show you
-
how to import a video clip into Camtasia Studio 7,
-
and then get it down into the timeline
-
where you can edit it.
-
So when you first open Camtasia 7,
-
this box comes up,
-
and there are several choices of
-
things you can do,
-
and one of them is "Import Media."
-
So I'll click on that,
-
and that will take me to a box
-
where I can browse on my computer.
-
I can browse for the video file
-
I want to import.
-
So I've found the file that I want,
-
and I'll click on it and highlight it.
-
Then in the lower right of the box
-
it says "Open," and I'll click on that.
-
What happens then is that the
-
video file is loaded into this white area
-
called the "Clip Bin."
-
In order to get it down to the timeline
-
where I can edit it,
-
I'll click on it
-
and then left-mouse click on it and
-
drag it down to the timeline.
-
Then I'll release my mouse.
-
You can see it puts the clip into the timeline.
-
As I do that, a box comes up
-
asking me what size I want
-
the final produced video to be.
-
There's a default size, 640 by 360,
-
but if I click on this small arrow
-
on the right of the box,
-
a list of other sizes pops down.
-
And I'll choose this 640 by 480 size.
-
It's a good compromise between the
-
size of your final video
-
(how it shows up on a computer screen)
-
and the file size.
-
You don't want really big files because
-
it can be hard to upload them.
-
So I'll click on 640 by 480
-
and it shows up in the box,
-
then I'll click "OK," and
-
that will be the size of my final video.
-
If I want to import another video clip
-
into this same project,
-
on the upper left there is a menu item
-
"Import Media," and I can click on that.
-
The same type of box comes up
-
where I can browse through my computer.
-
So I can browse for another clip,
-
I'll click on that.
-
I'll click open, and it shows up
-
in the Clip Bin.
-
Again, I can click on it, and
-
drag it down to the timeline,
-
and insert it right after the clip before.
-
So that's how to do it.
-
That's how to import your video clips
-
and get them to the timeline
-
where you can edit them in Camtasia Studio 7.
