“Many believers today mistakenly think that God's promise is just for them to enjoy a life that is comfortable, as if our value in life was somehow tied to our levels of comfort. No! Let me tell you, people of God. God has not promised you comfort; He has promised to comfort you. Read what the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. Our God of all comfort - His promise is to comfort us, to comfort our spirits even when we face affliction in our flesh. God has never promised the journey would be comfortable. He promised to comfort us through the journey, in the journey. Whether that journey is in good times or in hard times, whether you face times of comfort or discomfort, His promise is to comfort you, to be with you. People of God, let me tell you. Sometimes, too much comfort can be dangerous. If you are too comfortable, be careful. Because comfort often comes at the cost of character. Character is forged in the furnace of affliction. It takes revelation from above to realise that pain which draws you closer to God, is more valuable than comfort that keeps you away from Him.”
