while. Especially if you're on a high dose.
So what are some positives of Venlafaxine?
  • 3:54 - 3:59
    You've heard some negatives, some
side effects, again, if your doctor, and
  • 3:59 - 4:05
you patient, maybe way worth it to put up
with some of these side effects, which
  • 4:05 - 4:09
likely you won't experience many, you'll
experience maybe a few, and a lot of them more
  • 4:10 - 4:14
day over time, positive and pros of
Velafaxine is a very effective medication
  • 4:14 - 4:18
for anxiety and depression, and it's been
around for several decades, so it's very
  • 4:18 - 4:24
well researched and can be used to great
effect. So what are some negatives or
  • 4:24 - 4:28
    cons of venlafaxine? Like other
    antidepressants it can cause sexual
  • 4:28 - 4:33
dysfunction, it can also make suicidal
ideation or depression worse and, this is
  • 4:33 - 4:35
more likely in young adults and children.
  • 4:35 - 4:41
So overall, what's our take on Venlafaxine
use? Is a well established treatment for
  • 4:41 - 4:46
anxiety and depression as well as several
other conditions and it's considered a
  • 4:46 - 4:51
second line treatment. So usually you go
to the SSI's first and then you go to SNRI
  • 4:51 - 4:58
effects are like Prisyiq, like Cymbalta,
couple others out there depending on what
  • 4:58 - 5:02
