#1 Tav Prasad Svaiye English Katha - Intro and 1st Svaiya
-
2:30 - 2:33We are very blessed today,
we're talking about Guru's service. -
2:34 - 2:38The greatest service a Sikh can do
is to become a Sikh of the Guru. -
2:39 - 2:40When we see the Guru's service,
-
2:42 - 2:45Maharaj is talking about becoming
a servant of the Guru. -
2:45 - 2:49When we give ourselves to a Guru,
then you become a servant. -
2:56 - 2:58It is very awkward to become
a servant of the Guru. -
2:59 - 3:01Why is seva of the Guru is
very awkward? -
3:03 - 3:06Give yourself and then
become his servant. -
3:09 - 3:12We get a Mantar when
we become a servant of him, -
3:12 - 3:16by taking the Guru's Amrit
that he is given us. -
3:17 - 3:19Today we are going to talk a lot
about that as well -
3:19 - 3:23because what we started now is
the Katha is now of the Svaiye. -
3:24 - 3:27And this is one of the 5 Amrit Bani.
-
3:27 - 3:32The third one that every Gursikh
must read every morning. -
3:34 - 3:38This is prescribed when people
take Amrit from 5 Pyaare, -
3:39 - 3:40they read these Baanis.
-
3:42 - 3:46We have done Japji sahib,
Jaap sahib, and now Svaiye. -
3:46 - 3:51There is only 10 Svaiye and
it is the smallest of all 5 Baani. -
3:54 - 3:57It is the path from the
'Akaal Ustat.' -
3:59 - 4:01Akaal Ustat by Guru Gobind Singh ji
Maharaj. -
4:02 - 4:04Maharaj wrote Akaal Ustat.
-
4:04 - 4:07At the same time as when they
wrote Sri Jaap Sahib. -
4:08 - 4:10You can see Jaap Sahib comes first,
-
4:10 - 4:14and then comes one part of
Akaal Ustat of the Svaiye. -
4:15 - 4:18the some people started saying stuff
like 'Oh it's not Amrit Bani. -
4:18 - 4:21If it makes Amrit,
then it is Amrit Baani. -
4:22 - 4:24It can't make
something that is not Amrit Bani.' -
4:25 - 4:28Akaal Ustat is Amrit Bani.
-
4:30 - 4:32Nowadays, we say Sikhi is
three things. -
4:32 - 4:39Many people say Sikhi is Naam Jap,
Vand Chak and Kirat Kamai. -
4:41 - 4:44But Saadh Sangat ji,
this is Giani Giaan Singh, -
4:43 - 4:46and Bhai Vir Singh made that
one up. -
4:48 - 4:50They summarize Sikhi with those 3 things.
-
4:50 - 4:52In the older days they used to say,
-
4:53 - 5:00Pooja Akaal ki, Parcha Shabad ka,
Didar Khalse ka. -
5:01 - 5:02That's what Sikhi used to be,
-
5:02 - 5:05those 3 things that how would
they describe about Sikhi. -
5:08 - 5:14First, Pooja. Pooja is worship.
Pooja Akaal ki. -
5:14 - 5:18A-kaal. Kaal means time.
-
5:19 - 5:22The one who is 'Akaal'
is outside of time. -
5:24 - 5:28Because he is outside of time
and always at the same. -
5:28 - 5:32He is not like us that every second
we move from time to time, -
5:32 - 5:34he's outside of it.
-
5:34 - 5:36The God is being true at the beginning,
-
5:37 - 5:42True when the time started and
then true now and true forever. -
5:42 - 5:43Always just true.
-
5:44 - 5:46if you look at up it's always true.
-
5:46 - 5:51There's never a situation that
he is getting old, replace him. -
5:52 - 5:57We're not true like that,
we'll come and go, we are Kaal. -
5:57 - 6:03We are Kaljug people,
we die from Kaal, but he is Akaal. -
6:05 - 6:08Kaal means not just time but death.
-
6:08 - 6:11He is Akaal and cannot be killed.
-
6:11 - 6:19To worship that which is outside
of time, immortal and cannot be killed. -
6:22 - 6:27Parcha Shabad ka, we are sitting here in
Dhan Guru Sahib ji's Hazoori. -
6:31 - 6:33The Pothi is where God is.
-
6:34 - 6:39If you look at Islam they will say
that they bow down to the Kaaba, -
6:39 - 6:41but that's not where God is.
-
6:41 - 6:44but some of them did get confused
when Guru Nanak Dev ji went there, -
6:44 - 6:48and they said, 'Oh, that's
where the house of God is.' -
6:49 - 6:51Maharaj said 'No, God is everywhere.'
-
6:51 - 6:55But a Sikh is perfectly able to say that
God is everywhere -
6:55 - 6:57and also God is in Guru Granth Sahib ji.
-
7:07 - 7:09Guru Shabad is like God to us.
-
7:10 - 7:11Why is Guru Shabad God to us?
-
7:12 - 7:16When Guru Shabad comes to our house,
if Guru ji came to our house, -
7:16 - 7:17we treat it like God came to our house.
-
7:19 - 7:21That house might never have
been cleaned as much, -
7:21 - 7:25as on that day when
Guru sahib ji to that house. -
7:27 - 7:31Everything that you don't want to have
in that house on that day disappears. -
7:32 - 7:35And those families that are
already living the Sikhi Rehat, -
7:35 - 7:39that house gets a vacuum clean and a
purification of all the stuff -
7:39 - 7:40you don't want to have there.
-
7:42 - 7:45Because God is coming in.
-
7:45 - 7:48For us, Guru Granth sahib
ji is Akaal Purakh. -
7:48 - 7:51If you were to carry God with you anywhere
where would you put him? -
7:51 - 7:52On top of your head.
-
7:53 - 7:57Guru Granth sahib ji tells to put on
top of the head of the Gursikhs. -
8:00 - 8:04Shabad we said is God, but in the written
{Shabad} form, -
8:06 - 8:14Parcha means to look inside something to
actually read it multiple times -
8:14 - 8:15and find God in there.
-
8:15 - 8:17In the end of Ardaas, we say,
-
8:20 - 8:24If you want to find God,
Maharaj says 'Look in the Shabad.' -
8:25 - 8:28A Sikh doesn't have to go anywhere,
but the Shabad itself. -
8:29 - 8:32Maharaj says Deedaar Khalse ka.
-
8:33 - 8:35Deedar means to have the vision.
-
8:37 - 8:41Who are we going to go and find?
We want to meet our Guru. -
8:41 - 8:45Where are we going to go and meet him?
We're going to find him by worshiping God, -
8:45 - 8:49find him inside the Shabad, but also,
we're going to find him in the Khalsa. -
8:50 - 8:53The Khalsa is Guru's form.
-
8:54 - 8:58Ask our Guru a question, then we
can go and ask the Khalsa a question. -
8:58 - 9:02The problem is now we talked about
last week is the Khalsa is hard to find. -
9:04 - 9:08The world wants the Deedar of the Khalsa,
the Sikhs want to see the Khalsa. -
9:09 - 9:11but the Khalsa is hard to find
-
9:11 - 9:15because a Khalsa has gone back to
being 9 to 5 jurblogs. -
9:16 - 9:18The Khalsa is no longer seen.
-
9:19 - 9:22When things go wrong in the world,
there are ain't no Khalsa Army. -
9:22 - 9:24I was talking to my little one,
I said to him, -
9:25 - 9:27The problems in the world
wouldn't it be nice. -
9:27 - 9:31Wouldn't it be nice if this Khalsa
Army went and solve those problems?' -
9:31 - 9:34He goes 'Yeah'.
I said 'Shouldn't they do that?' -
9:34 - 9:35He said 'Yeah'
-
9:35 - 9:37I said you know what,
there isn't one, -
9:37 - 9:41there is no Khalsa Army to go and
solve the problems of the world.' -
9:42 - 9:45He is a bit sad and I want
him to feel that pain. -
9:46 - 9:49because I want him to think
then he should do it. -
9:49 - 9:53When he gets older, he should feel
that Dukh, and do something about it. -
9:53 - 9:56Last week, a lot of us were quite upset
-
9:56 - 9:58about the things that are
going on in our Panth. -
9:59 - 10:01But this is called
'The pain of the Panth'. -
10:01 - 10:06To feel the pain, problems in
the Panth -
10:06 - 10:08is the first step towards
solving the problems. -
10:10 - 10:12if you've got no pain for the problems,
-
10:12 - 10:14how can you even take a step
toward solving them? -
10:15 - 10:18When you feel pain yourself,
then a person does something. -
10:18 - 10:22If it is a problem outside, you hear
about this or that has happened, -
10:22 - 10:24it is a statistic in the newspaper.
-
10:24 - 10:28When we feel that pain ourselves
then we will do something about it. -
10:28 - 10:33Maharaj says this is Sikhi.
Pooja Akaal ki. -
10:33 - 10:38Parche Shabad ka and then
finally Deedar Khalse ka. -
10:38 - 10:42If the Panth is not inspired,
-
10:42 - 10:45well we've got Shabad, but maybe
we're not looking into it -
10:47 - 10:50We have got Akaal Purakh, but maybe
we not worshiping Akaal Purakh. -
10:50 - 10:54and finally maybe we can't see the Khalsa
and that might be the problem. -
10:58 - 11:01When Bhai Nand Lal ji asked
Guru Gobind Singh ji, -
11:01 - 11:03'Maharaj, what are you?'
-
11:03 - 11:07Bhai ji asked Guru Sahib ji that,
"Tell me, what are you?" -
11:08 - 11:11Maharaj said 'I have three forms.'
-
11:11 - 11:14Sargun, Nirgun and Gurshabad.
-
11:17 - 11:18They said
-
11:18 - 11:23'Bhai Nand Lal ji, listen
carefully, these are my three forms.' -
11:24 - 11:29The one we just talked about,
because the Nirgun form is Akaal Purakh, -
11:29 - 11:31and that is a form of Guru as well,
-
11:31 - 11:34because Bhai Gurdas ji describes
Guru Nanak Dev ji Maharaj, -
11:40 - 11:41He is a form of Akaal.
-
11:43 - 11:45Guru is our Pooja because he is Akaal.
-
11:46 - 11:48He is not subject to life and death.
-
11:49 - 11:51He lived in 10 lives.
-
11:53 - 11:55Is he subject to life and death?
-
11:56 - 12:01Who in this world can say that
they've lived 10 lives consecutively? -
12:01 - 12:03Gur Nanak Dev ji can say that.
-
12:03 - 12:05They all call themselves Nanak.
-
12:09 - 12:11Guru is Shabad.
-
12:25 - 12:28Shabad is a Guru and
Guru is a Shabad. you look in Guru -
12:29 - 12:36To find Guru, you look in Guru
and find his words. -
12:36 - 12:39If we didn't search that means
-
12:39 - 12:41maybe we're not doing the
preach of Shabad as well. -
12:43 - 12:46All we want to do is join
people to Bani here. -
12:47 - 12:51That's what we bring people and say
'Learn about Bani because that is Guru.' -
12:55 - 12:59Maharaj said that he's got three forms,
Sargun, Nirgun, Gurshabad, -
12:59 - 13:03The physical {Sargun} form is Khalsa.
-
13:04 - 13:08Even Japji Sahib confirms
these three things. -
13:08 - 13:10Some people say
Guru Gobind Singh ji said it. -
13:10 - 13:13What does it says in Japji Sahib,
Maharaj says, -
13:14 - 13:15What if I find a Guru is,
-
13:26 - 13:31The primal sound
which is inside every single person -
13:31 - 13:35is actually Akaal Purakh.
-
13:36 - 13:42He is inside all of us, he's not just
inside me, you -
13:42 - 13:44and not the people out
there that are not Sikhs, -
13:44 - 13:47every single person has that Naad,
-
13:47 - 13:50the light of God, the Primal sound
inside them. -
13:59 - 14:03There is a Naad of God
in every single heart. -
14:05 - 14:09When Guru Gobind Singh ji describes
that third form of Nirgun form, -
14:09 - 14:12they say the same 2 letters,
'ghat ghat', -
14:12 - 14:15the light of God is inside
every single heart. -
14:19 - 14:22God is not just light you see,
-
14:22 - 14:24we start thinking about God
being light, -
14:24 - 14:27God is also sound {Naad}.
-
14:27 - 14:28We can't describe him as one thing
-
14:28 - 14:31somebody ask what do
you mean by light? I said it's analogy. -
14:32 - 14:34It's not actually light,
-
14:34 - 14:35when we cut the body open,
-
14:35 - 14:40we can't actually see a little shining
light inside someone, it's analogy. -
14:40 - 14:42Another thing you could say is,
-
14:42 - 14:45everybody's got the sound inside them
and that sound is God. -
14:45 - 14:49just like in the Bible they said
in the beginning was a word was God. -
14:49 - 14:52God is sound {Naad} as well.
-
15:02 - 15:07God is inside and speaks within
everybody. -
15:11 - 15:12What is Vedas?
-
15:14 - 15:18Vedas means the knowledge,
wisdom, the Shabad. -
15:19 - 15:20We have got the same thing here.
-
15:23 - 15:24Vedas means wisdom.
-
15:24 - 15:27Guru's wisdom is
written down for us in the Shabad. -
15:32 - 15:37The person who listens to
the primal sound inside them, -
15:37 - 15:42who listens to the actual
wisdom of the Guru -
15:42 - 15:44finally becomes absorbed in Vaheguru
-
15:44 - 15:48become absorbed in Guru and they
become the physical form of Guru. -
15:54 - 15:56All of this is about Guru.
-
15:56 - 16:01Gurbani is Guru, the Shabad is Guru
and Guru is in the form of Akaal. -
16:01 - 16:04We can happily say that
we worship our Guru. -
16:05 - 16:08Some people get a bit confused
outside and they start saying, -
16:08 - 16:12'Oh guys, we don't worship our
Guru, Guru never said worship me.' -
16:12 - 16:15Guru Arjan Dev ji Maharaj is saying,
-
16:18 - 16:19Guru is My Worship.
-
16:27 - 16:30Guru is all these things,
don't reduce Guru. -
16:30 - 16:34There is no need to reduce Guru to
what people say he is. -
16:34 - 16:38Make him the biggest thing in your life.
-
16:38 - 16:40Make him the most important
person in your life. -
16:41 - 16:44He is God.
He is a form of Akaal. -
16:50 - 16:52Alakh means you can't even see him.
-
16:53 - 16:56He is that deep we can't even get him.
-
17:07 - 17:10All these deities that people were
praying to before, -
17:11 - 17:13Maharaj says 'Guru is bigger
than all of those.' -
17:18 - 17:23Every single deity bows to Guru Nanak.
He is the Avatar of Kajug. -
17:24 - 17:27Yesterday we were doing street preach in
in Oxford. -
17:27 - 17:30and I said to this Hindu guy,
' Are you Sikh?' He said, 'No.' -
17:31 - 17:34I said 'Do you go to Gurudwara?'
He goes 'Yeah'. -
17:34 - 17:38He was a Hindu guy go 'I like going
to Gurudwara', so I give him the leaflet, -
17:38 - 17:41We're talking and I said
'Who is the Avatar of Kajug?' -
17:42 - 17:44He stopped.
-
17:44 - 17:48I asked him 'Do you believe in Krishna?'
He said 'Yes, believe in Ram, -
17:49 - 17:53Vishnu? Yes. But who is the Kaljug?'
-
17:54 - 17:55They haven't got an answer.
-
17:55 - 17:57They're still waiting for Kaljug Avatar
-
17:57 - 18:01but Avtar is already here is Guru Nanak.
-
18:05 - 18:07It is not the case that
we've come from Hinduism, -
18:08 - 18:12The Hindus haven't woken up
that the Avtar of Kaljug is already here. -
18:13 - 18:16Bani is telling us that,
-
18:27 - 18:28That comes in Jaap Sahib.
-
18:28 - 18:32Kalank means with some kind of mistake,
-
18:41 - 18:44ne kalank means without any
single mistake. -
18:49 - 18:53Our Guru is a very form because
he makes no mistakes, -
18:53 - 18:54he is perfect.
-
19:00 - 19:03Guru is that being, we can chant his name
and get liberated, -
19:04 - 19:07just chant his name, we could say
'Dhan Guru Nanak' -
19:08 - 19:10and if you could just chant that,
we would get liberated. -
19:10 - 19:12he's that powerful.
-
19:13 - 19:15Let's go back to Akaal Ustat.
-
19:15 - 19:18So why I go into this that Pooja Akaal ki,
-
19:18 - 19:20Parcha Shabad ka and Deedar Khalse ka.
-
19:21 - 19:24It is Guru Gobind Singh ji who
has given us this Akaal Ustat. -
19:24 - 19:26how to do praise of Akaal.
-
19:27 - 19:31When I worship Akaal, Maharaj has given us
a whole Bani about worshipping Akaal. -
19:32 - 19:33Ustat means to praise.
-
19:36 - 19:39They wrote it when they were 16 years old,
very young age. -
19:46 - 19:48Although, when they
were about 20 years old, -
19:49 - 19:52Guru Gobind singh ji said this Bani twice.
-
19:52 - 19:53Tav Prasad Svaiye.
-
19:56 - 19:58Some people call Sudha di Svaiye,
-
19:59 - 20:02or 10 Svaiye,
because there is 33 Svaiye as well. -
20:04 - 20:09This Bani was said twice on two
occasions that we should know about, -
20:09 - 20:12because Maharaj felt it
appropriate at that time -
20:12 - 20:16on a historic occasion to utter
this Bani as to answer somebody. -
20:16 - 20:19If somebody might come up
and ask you a question, -
20:19 - 20:21you might give them a Bani
that you know about. -
20:21 - 20:25Guru Gobind Singh ji said
this Bani as an answer twice. -
20:28 - 20:34It is very interesting story, it was
when somebody called Raja Ratan Ray, -
20:34 - 20:36he came to meet him.
-
20:36 - 20:38Who is Ratan Ray?
He came to Anandpur Sahib. -
20:38 - 20:43Maharaj was there with Bani in Paonta
Sahib, after then moved to Anandpur Sahib. -
20:43 - 20:47He was a son of Raja Ram Singh.
-
20:48 - 20:50Raja Ram Singh was not a Singh,
-
20:51 - 20:52like we are Singhs.
-
20:53 - 20:55There is a common certain back
for their kings. -
20:55 - 20:58Raja Ram Singh didn't have a son,
-
20:59 - 21:04and Dhan Guru Tegh Bahadur ji had come to
that place where Raja Ram Singh was from. -
21:06 - 21:09He was from Assam all the way out.
-
21:11 - 21:14He came to Guru's Charan and hope
to get blessed. -
21:14 - 21:20Now our Guru is 'Icha Poorak
sarab sukhdata.' -
21:20 - 21:22He can fulfill all our desires.
-
21:23 - 21:26When he came to Guru,
he did not ask. -
21:27 - 21:31He kept quiet as he was feeling shame
to ask Guru ji a question as a king. -
21:31 - 21:34When they put him in, Maharaj said, 'Yes'.
-
21:34 - 21:40He kept quiet and somebody said he
become old now but he hasn't got a kid. -
21:40 - 21:42He wants a child.
-
21:42 - 21:46Obviously the king would want a son at
that time and over the kingdom as well. -
21:47 - 21:50There was a stamp during the
time of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji. -
21:51 - 21:55They took that stamp {Mor} and they
put it to that guy's thigh. -
21:57 - 22:01They put it in and said 'See that mark.
You are now going to have a son -
22:01 - 22:05and he will be a Sikh.
A Sikh who take birth in your house, -
22:06 - 22:08and he will have that mark
on his forehead. -
22:10 - 22:11That is the sign {nishani}.
-
22:12 - 22:15In due course, a boy was born
to that king, -
22:16 - 22:17and they called him Ratan Ray.
-
22:18 - 22:21That was Ratan who came to
meet Guru Gobind Singh ji. -
22:21 - 22:24At the same time Ratan Ray was born,
-
22:24 - 22:27Guru Gobind Singh ji was born to
Guru Tegh Bahadur ji. -
22:27 - 22:30Guru Tegh Bahadur ji was out doing
preach by himself. -
22:31 - 22:35Their son was born in Patna Sahib.
-
22:36 - 22:38We know the story of
Dhan Guru Gibind Singh ji. -
22:39 - 22:42When Peer Bhikhan Shah travelled
to see Guru Gobind Singh ji. -
22:42 - 22:46But Sadh Sangat ji same time
Ratan Ray was born in Assam as well. -
22:47 - 22:49When he got older
his father passed away, -
22:50 - 22:52just like Guru Tegh Bahadur ji
was Shaheed in Delhi. -
22:53 - 22:54So Ratan Ray became the king.
-
22:57 - 22:59Sometimes we forget the
promises you made to our Guru. -
23:04 - 23:07His mother stopped telling him
about the sign on his forehead -
23:07 - 23:11and what it meant that he was a Sikh
who would come back into this life -
23:11 - 23:13as a blessing of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji.
-
23:14 - 23:16When he was about 20 years old,
-
23:17 - 23:20he started looking at this
mark on his forehead, -
23:20 - 23:23kept trying to rub it off,
it wasn't coming off -
23:23 - 23:25so he finally asked his mom,
-
23:25 - 23:28'Did I get into some kind of fight or
battle or something when I was young -
23:28 - 23:30why have I got this mark on my forehead?'
-
23:31 - 23:33That's when the mother said to him,
-
23:33 - 23:38'Son, it's a long story about behind
your birth, sign. -
23:38 - 23:40it was blessed to you by
Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, -
23:41 - 23:45that you are actually a Sikh and you
were born into this life by his blessings. -
23:46 - 23:50Ratan Ray then said 'I want to go and
meet the Guru who blessed me to be born' -
23:51 - 23:55But Ratan Ray found out that Guru Tegh
Bahadur ji was already Shaheed. -
23:56 - 24:00So he went to meet the tenth Guru.
-
24:00 - 24:06He travelled a long way to meet
king of kings in Anandpur Sahib. -
24:09 - 24:15Ratan Ray was a king but 'Rajan ke Raja
maharajan ke maharaja' is our Guru. -
24:15 - 24:19Ratan Ray travalled Anandpur Sahib
to meet Guru Gobind Singh ji Maharaj. -
24:19 - 24:23When he met him, he came with some gifts.
-
24:24 - 24:28Now these gifts are important because
this Bani gets read out the second time, -
24:29 - 24:31is over these gifts.
-
24:32 - 24:36He brought with him,
it is called a Prasad elephant. -
24:36 - 24:40as a white elephant, very
valued by the kings. -
24:40 - 24:43Obviously he would have found
that he has been born this way -
24:43 - 24:44so he wanted to impress Guru ji
-
24:44 - 24:46and this elephant could do Chaur Sahib.
-
24:47 - 24:49It's pretty impressive elephant.
-
24:49 - 24:58He also brought some Sandalwood,
which was made a throne over Guru Sahib. -
24:59 - 25:03He also brought a Shastar
called a 5 shastar. -
25:03 - 25:06it's like a shastar that's called
five weapons within it. -
25:06 - 25:11it so he bought these gifts came to meet
-
25:09 - 25:14Guru gobis sing G and he asked him for
-
25:11 - 25:17advice K mahaj you are the guru your
-
25:14 - 25:19father blessed me to be born give me
-
25:17 - 25:21some buttin basically when you find out
-
25:19 - 25:22you should be learning from this person
-
25:21 - 25:23you go and ask for advice right what
-
25:22 - 25:27should I
-
25:23 - 25:28do Guru go sji when they met him they
-
25:27 - 25:29recognize obviously who they were who he
-
25:28 - 25:32was straight
-
25:29 - 25:34away and then Guru said something very
-
25:32 - 25:38interesting he said look your nishani
-
25:34 - 25:41has brought you to me that that sign
-
25:38 - 25:45that nishani of the guru whever guru
-
25:41 - 25:45doesa is always a nishani we
-
25:48 - 25:55say Priceless is his and Priceless is
-
25:52 - 25:56the nishani of that Kira the sign of
-
25:55 - 25:58that
-
25:56 - 26:01Kira when you see a good s you you can
-
25:58 - 26:04see the signs of the of Guru if they got
-
26:01 - 26:04their on you can
-
26:05 - 26:13recognize they were blessed by taking
-
26:09 - 26:14Amit that's the K of guru's nishani and
-
26:13 - 26:18ra
-
26:14 - 26:22Ram was then reminded he whever gurus
-
26:18 - 26:25puts his more that coin has to come back
-
26:22 - 26:29to him more means a stamp and in fact
-
26:25 - 26:31that same word more is ex L what Guru Go
-
26:29 - 26:36sing uses when they talk about
-
26:31 - 26:38the when mahaj wrote a letter to the the
-
26:36 - 26:40here now who know about that Hama
-
26:38 - 26:43because said send
-
26:40 - 26:43aama and they
-
26:46 - 26:52said gur saying this is my stamp upon
-
26:49 - 26:55you as a sick that wherever you go you
-
26:52 - 27:00cannot hide who you are because a stamp
-
26:55 - 27:00of Guru shines out
-
27:00 - 27:05and in fact if we look at our kids now
-
27:03 - 27:08sometimes people say let the kids keep
-
27:05 - 27:10their G when they get
-
27:08 - 27:13older that doesn't make any sense you
-
27:10 - 27:14see if you're born into a seek family
-
27:13 - 27:16should keep their Cas from a very young
-
27:14 - 27:19age so that's a nishani that they belong
-
27:16 - 27:21to Guru just like ran had it on his mat
-
27:19 - 27:23then the children should have it on
-
27:21 - 27:26their head and when they get older
-
27:23 - 27:28they're going to ask the question mom
-
27:26 - 27:30why do I have this turban why do I have
-
27:28 - 27:33this butka they're going to ask their
-
27:30 - 27:36dad if they don't look different from
-
27:33 - 27:39other people outside they won't ask that
-
27:36 - 27:41question so it is a hookum from the guru
-
27:39 - 27:45and it is in the in
-
27:41 - 27:47the as well that no sick should cut the
-
27:45 - 27:50hair of their
-
27:47 - 27:52child because if other times children
-
27:50 - 27:55were prepared to be chopped into pieces
-
27:52 - 27:57and not have their haircut then how can
-
27:55 - 27:59a sick today bring their own children to
-
27:57 - 28:01the Barb
-
27:59 - 28:06if you can't keep your
-
28:01 - 28:09Cas as a parent B keep the hair of your
-
28:06 - 28:12child in the old days the Hindus would
-
28:09 - 28:15give one child to the
-
28:12 - 28:17pun now you imagine that they doing that
-
28:15 - 28:19they would keep the case of their own
-
28:17 - 28:21children for the guru to get the guru's
-
28:19 - 28:24bakes upon the whole family they would
-
28:21 - 28:26give one child to the guru because it's
-
28:24 - 28:29true if one sick if one child in a
-
28:26 - 28:31family becomes a good sick the whole
-
28:29 - 28:33family will get blessed it's not the
-
28:31 - 28:36case that
-
28:33 - 28:39oh no if one person takes am in the
-
28:36 - 28:41family the whole family will get
-
28:39 - 28:43blessed they wanted the blessings of
-
28:41 - 28:45Guru gois singj they made one sick into
-
28:43 - 28:48a g SI if we want the blessings of our
-
28:45 - 28:50Guru then let's not harm the hair on our
-
28:48 - 28:52own children's head so when they get
-
28:50 - 28:54older then when Maraj they turn around
-
28:52 - 28:56and say to gurus sa at least they will
-
28:54 - 28:57ask before they cut their hair they had
-
28:56 - 29:01it their whole life at least they will
-
28:57 - 29:05ask what is siki why should I keep it it
-
29:01 - 29:08would be easier for that child so to to
-
29:05 - 29:10remember the story of ratan R the Maraj
-
29:08 - 29:13said
-
29:10 - 29:16look this is the nishani of Guru t bahad
-
29:13 - 29:18g has brought you to become a sick now
-
29:16 - 29:22and at that time when he asked for
-
29:18 - 29:24advice then Guru Go sing read out
-
29:22 - 29:28the it's interesting because in this you
-
29:24 - 29:30will hear a lot of advice about Raji
-
29:28 - 29:32you will hear the advice Maraj gives to
-
29:30 - 29:34Kings that's an important thing to us
-
29:32 - 29:37all to
-
29:34 - 29:39remember it talks about losing the love
-
29:37 - 29:42for the world and becoming attached to
-
29:39 - 29:45the love of wuru
-
29:42 - 29:47barag barag has got two parts to it one
-
29:45 - 29:50is to understand that this world is
-
29:47 - 29:53false and Only God is real so we lose
-
29:50 - 29:56the love for the world but we get love
-
29:53 - 29:58for Guru we get love for God it's not
-
29:56 - 30:02losing love it's is gaining a much
-
29:58 - 30:02stronger Love and Other loves pale in
-
30:07 - 30:14comparison so it's about love it's about
-
30:11 - 30:15destroying our ahankar our attachment to
-
30:14 - 30:19the
-
30:15 - 30:21world and also it tells us what we
-
30:19 - 30:24shouldn't aim for just like Raja ranra
-
30:21 - 30:27was then told what he shouldn't aim
-
30:24 - 30:30for the second time this this Shabad was
-
30:27 - 30:35read out by gingi was also to another
-
30:30 - 30:36Raja Raja beem Chand Raja beem Chand
-
30:35 - 30:40because of these gifts of Guru gois
-
30:36 - 30:42singi he heard that look at this Guru
-
30:40 - 30:44he's got an elephant in his chor
-
30:42 - 30:46side not every elephant could do it you
-
30:44 - 30:49see but this one that was destined for
-
30:46 - 30:53Guru Go sing was destined to do that of
-
30:49 - 30:56Guru Go sing now beem Chand came to meet
-
30:53 - 30:58gurug Goin sing G and Mar said what do
-
30:56 - 30:59you want beem Chand cuz Mar said I'll
-
30:58 - 31:01bless
-
30:59 - 31:02youur gives to everybody that comes to
-
31:01 - 31:04his
-
31:02 - 31:07door
-
31:04 - 31:07blesses cuz they
-
31:07 - 31:12are so what happens is beim Chan says M
-
31:10 - 31:14give me the
-
31:12 - 31:17elephant what he wanted was that people
-
31:14 - 31:20would do his vava with the elephant you
-
31:17 - 31:23see Mar says I can't give you the
-
31:20 - 31:26elephant it's not for you it's a gift to
-
31:23 - 31:31me I can't give it to
-
31:26 - 31:32you so over that thing there was a there
-
31:31 - 31:35was then later that was one of the
-
31:32 - 31:37reasons why beim Chand got into a battle
-
31:35 - 31:39with gur go later on and the Battle of
-
31:37 - 31:42pangani you go to India you can see
-
31:39 - 31:45where the battle was fought that battle
-
31:42 - 31:48was over these things that those people
-
31:45 - 31:49wanted to get rid of guruji and Mar said
-
31:48 - 31:50then we're going to take we're going to
-
31:49 - 31:52have a battle we're not going to back
-
31:50 - 31:55down now that was the first battle of
-
31:52 - 31:57Guru Goji beim
-
31:55 - 32:00Chan and you can see that place little
-
31:57 - 32:03story about that place that's where gur
-
32:00 - 32:03was hit by an
-
32:06 - 32:11arrow that was
-
32:08 - 32:15there there's a tree there that was
-
32:11 - 32:17where gurug was standing i' be to that
-
32:15 - 32:20tree where mahaj was standing is at the
-
32:17 - 32:22top of a plane they had a good vantage
-
32:20 - 32:24point from there they could see
-
32:22 - 32:27everything when they were hit by the
-
32:24 - 32:30arrow on that tree a little bit of blood
-
32:27 - 32:33came out G GOI cuz they hit the kamasa
-
32:30 - 32:34and the kamaras were very strong so they
-
32:33 - 32:37stopped the arrow cuz it was a far away
-
32:34 - 32:40far away it was all that he
-
32:37 - 32:43fired mahaj because the love of that
-
32:40 - 32:45tree the love of the tree for gurug go
-
32:43 - 32:47singi cuz they stayed there that tree
-
32:45 - 32:48every single leaf in that tree has a
-
32:47 - 32:51hole inside
-
32:48 - 32:52it and I've seen this tree and I can
-
32:51 - 32:55tell you every single
-
32:52 - 32:59pa has a hole inside
-
32:55 - 33:03it the the Earth Earth loved our Guru
-
32:59 - 33:06the trees loved our Guru even now that
-
33:03 - 33:08tree 300 more years later remembers Guru
-
33:06 - 33:10Go sing G and every single one of his P
-
33:08 - 33:13has a little hole inside
-
33:10 - 33:15it so we think of our gurus doing
-
33:13 - 33:17Miracles the whole world is a miracle
-
33:15 - 33:22the whole world is a miracle worshiping
-
33:17 - 33:22our Guru so Mar says they start
-
33:26 - 33:32off the one the one who made the whole
-
33:29 - 33:35world with just a sound the one who is
-
33:32 - 33:37above he is the sustainer the Creator
-
33:35 - 33:40the sustainer and the Destroyer above
-
33:37 - 33:43all these three things the one who's
-
33:40 - 33:43inside us and is
-
33:44 - 33:49everywhere
-
33:46 - 33:51vuru let Victory belong to vuru not to
-
33:49 - 33:51just us but to
-
33:52 - 33:59vuru D the 10th King the 10th Li of G
-
33:56 - 33:59mahaj
-
34:04 - 34:06saying this
-
34:07 - 34:10is
-
34:11 - 34:19says is a it's a style like we have do
-
34:16 - 34:22yeah we have ch we have loads of
-
34:19 - 34:22different shs in
-
34:22 - 34:28B is a style and because the style has a
-
34:26 - 34:30child to singing and every single has
-
34:28 - 34:33the same child you can sing it in the
-
34:30 - 34:38same way so read the first one out in
-
34:33 - 34:38its entirety and then do quick cut of it
-
34:56 - 34:59says
-
35:08 - 35:11so you can see there's a little child to
-
35:10 - 35:13it as
-
35:11 - 35:16well we should learn that child it will
-
35:13 - 35:17make it easier to learn read that we
-
35:16 - 35:20haven't read
-
35:17 - 35:25before so
-
35:20 - 35:27says Sak means those monks out there it
-
35:25 - 35:30means Sak the word isak actually but
-
35:27 - 35:34it's written here Sak means the monks so
-
35:30 - 35:37you got monks in every kind of religion
-
35:34 - 35:40out there Buddhism jism even Hinduism
-
35:37 - 35:44you got monks they live away from the
-
35:40 - 35:47world means they keep they keep very
-
35:44 - 35:49pure if you look at monks they're quite
-
35:47 - 35:51obsessed with that kind of thing
-
35:49 - 35:54especially the ones in India obsessed
-
35:51 - 35:54with keeping
-
35:56 - 36:04clean Samu Samu means all all the every
-
36:02 - 36:07single type of Monk in the world that
-
36:04 - 36:11looks after Purity Mar seen all of
-
36:07 - 36:14them and then this word Sam is like a d
-
36:11 - 36:16deep is called means it's a word that's
-
36:14 - 36:19in between two parts of B it applies
-
36:16 - 36:21this way and that way
-
36:19 - 36:26so
-
36:21 - 36:29and Sid it applies both ways sidan means
-
36:26 - 36:35a sidas the SIDS all the SIDS in their
-
36:29 - 36:35houses Sid on in their houses M
-
36:37 - 36:43says they've means to see means to
-
36:41 - 36:49wander around they've wandered around
-
36:43 - 36:53they've seen all the houses of these um
-
36:49 - 36:55J the joogies and the jti those people
-
36:53 - 36:57who have won over their bodies they won
-
36:55 - 36:59over their senses they would never get m
-
36:57 - 37:01married they were called jti in those
-
36:59 - 37:04days jatis so they've seen all the
-
37:01 - 37:07houses houses means the dairy the dairy
-
37:04 - 37:09of these people Mar means I've seen the
-
37:07 - 37:12whole world seen all the monks seen all
-
37:09 - 37:16the jois seen all the JIS they travel
-
37:12 - 37:16around they seen these people
-
37:20 - 37:25says Sur Sur means the
-
37:23 - 37:27Warriors
-
37:25 - 37:31suran this word
-
37:27 - 37:32suran means the first word means Sur Sur
-
37:31 - 37:36meaning the
-
37:32 - 37:39de Aran means the people that hate them
-
37:36 - 37:39their enemies like
-
37:41 - 37:45says means the enemies of so who are the
-
37:45 - 37:52enemies
-
37:45 - 37:52of the Demons yeah said that they made
-
37:54 - 38:02the they made the and and and the demons
-
37:59 - 38:05and between them they made enmity so God
-
38:02 - 38:09did that so the enemies of the Sur are
-
38:05 - 38:13the so the he can mean also the de and
-
38:09 - 38:17their enemies which are the demons
-
38:13 - 38:22Sur sudik sud again people who are
-
38:17 - 38:26trying to become pure sudik sud
-
38:22 - 38:27means here not sud but sud the word sud
-
38:26 - 38:29means
-
38:27 - 38:34that's why
-
38:29 - 38:39means so the sud these people they drink
-
38:34 - 38:42they live off the so they don't eat sud
-
38:39 - 38:44they are their support is sud their
-
38:42 - 38:47support isit so they don't eat drink
-
38:44 - 38:47normal food they live
-

-
53:49 - 53:56tell you a story quick Story one minute
-
53:51 - 53:57story s Manis Singh was a UK mahur
-
53:56 - 53:59somebody from this country very
-
53:57 - 54:03spiritually high
-
53:59 - 54:06State and some lady came to him once she
-
54:03 - 54:08said I want to become a g I want to feel
-
54:06 - 54:11God I can't feel
-
54:08 - 54:15God I can't feel my spiritual State
-
54:11 - 54:15isn't going high he
-
54:16 - 54:22said she said I've done that a
-
54:22 - 54:27lot and S Singh said that means she
-
54:25 - 54:29didn't even do at
-
54:27 - 54:33all is
-
54:29 - 54:37not and we should get it by now it's
-
54:33 - 54:37about keep on doing it keep on doing
-
54:38 - 54:44it if somebody s said if somebody says
-
54:42 - 54:45that I've done enough of it that means
-
54:44 - 54:49they didn't even do it in the first
-
54:45 - 54:52place because J the person who gets that
-
54:49 - 54:54level they don't
