-
And then, finally, in this first module
-
that you're reviewing this week, make sure you take the quiz
-
about the syllabus, and make sure by Friday
-
you're doing both of these-- by Friday, the 10th,
-
that you complete the introduction discussion, all right,?
-
Then, when you're done with this, you're going to--
-
you're going to hop back over here,
-
and you're going to come down to Module One,
-
and then this is your main coursework for the week.
-
The chapter is linked right here, Chapter One,
-
and then you will open the lesson in practice.
-
And every week, this is your main coursework
-
for this-- for this online class.
-
It shares with you the videos, the articles,
-
gives you some overviews of the chapter reading,
-
and then-- I don't--
-
you're going to see my video pop in here that I'm doing right now.
-
Plus I also share my-- the slides,
-
if you want to take a look at them for, you know,
-
what I'm doing in this presentation.
-
Alright, so we've got an-- another article,
-
this wonderful presentation from Les Brown--
-
love this guy-- on entrepreneurial mindsets.
-
And then your Carol Dweck TED Talk
-
-- almost tripped on that-- [laughs]
-
Carol is an expert on what is called a growth mindset.
-
So, watch her TED Talk,
-
read this short article, and then you're going to be able
-
to complete this week's second discussion,
-
which is our topical discussion for the week,
-
which is asking you to reflect on
-
and share your understanding of what is the growth mindset.
-
And then, again, you need to post here by Saturday,
-
with three responses by next Monday,
-
and then finish the quiz by next Monday, the 13th.
-
And this will be, you know,
-
from this point on, starting in week two,
-
this is how every module is organized.
-
What are we doing?
-
What are you reading?
-
Review your lesson in practice, review all the coursework,
-
and then complete the weekly discussion, the quiz.
-
And next week we'll start your first assignment,
-
which you will have two weeks to complete,
-
and that's the entrepreneurship diary assignment.
-
Okay?
-
So this course is-- is well organized.
-
I revised this course last year,
-
and we really wanted to make sure that it--
-
it is extremely well done for you,
-
because you are my customer, when it comes to this.
-
Okay/ [laughs]
-
So I think we've-- we've gone over everything.
-
There was a nav bar change,
-
but that happened last term in D2L;
-
hopefully you're familiar with that.
-
I do have this information in my first announcement,
-
if you have any questions, okay?
-
And, again, I really encourage you to set up D2L notifications.
-
Just click on your name up in-- when you're in D2L
-
If you're someone that-- it's really helpful
-
to get those reminders of when--
-
when assignments are due,
-
discussions, quizzes, etc., please set those up,
-
or you can download the Pulse app.
-
Okay?
-
This class really revolves, even though it's fully online,
-
really revolves around you getting to know each other
-
and doing some different things together,
-
through the discussion, okay.
-
Week four, I'm going to be popping back in
-
with another video to talk about the design thinking process
-
that you're going to be doing,
-
either by interviewing someone in in your life:
-
a friend, a family member, whoever, colleague,
-
or by-- maybe you want to interview a classmate, right?
-
And so I'm trying-- this is--
-
the design thinking process is done in the real world.
-
This is what entrepreneurs actually do.
-
Okay?
-
So, yes.
-
So again, this week, you have two assignments to complete by Friday,
-
but then you have until Saturday
-
every week to review all the coursework,
-
the lesson in practice,
-
read the chapter,
-
and then get that initial discussion post in,
-
and then you have over the weekend to finish,
-
if there's an assignment, a quiz,
-
and three discussion responses.
-
So that's just how it works.
-
Every single week in this class,
-
you will get used to the schedule,
-
and, if you have any questions, just email me
-
or set up a time to meet with me.
-
Lastly, you will see me sharing a lot of resources,
-
because I want you to know that small businesses
-
and entrepreneurs, we have a community of people
-
here to help you for free.
-
Also at PCC, we have maker spaces on every single campus.
-
Just go to pcc.edu/maker, or just click "Search" and type in "maker."
-
These are free for students.
-
All of the equipment, everything is for free.
-
So I hope you'll you'll take advantage of this
-
and many of the other amazing resources at PCC
-
and in our community.
-
All right.
-
Thank you so much, everyone.
-
It's been great to talk with you.
-
I hope you have a great first week of the term,
-
and take care, reach out, stay in touch.
-
Have a great week.
