First Snow 2025 At Long Island New York Home - IMRAN™

Of course, it got milder in NY when I drove to Florida with my dog two weeks ago. That trip was delayed by the last snow of 2024, so I ended up driving all day on Christmas and the next day!

And, also of course, it immediately dropped to frigid temps when I had to be back for a quick trip to NY on New Year’s Eve. Then it dropped to -10°C / 12°F wind chills into the New Year.

Today it wasn’t that brutally cold, but we got the first snow of 2025. It’s beautiful here, but I know a massive snowstorm named Blair hammered other states that would’ve been on my route back to Florida.

Even with this mild snow, you can’t see the water at my beach, barely a 4-minute walk from my home. Fire Island is invisible where no visible horizon can be seen.

It’s far better to see this beauty of nature sitting at home doing conference calls than being stuck in its brute force at an airport or on a long road trip.
