Biggest Discoveries Found on the Moon Part 2 | Ancient Aliens
-
0:03 - 0:06November, 1966
-
0:07 - 0:10Three years before the Apollo astronauts
made it to the Moon, -
0:11 - 0:15the Orbiter 2 Spacecraft
situates itself in lunar orbit. -
0:17 - 0:20It was designed to capture
high-resolution images of the surface -
0:21 - 0:26to assist with the selection
of landing sites for the Apollo missions. -
0:27 - 0:31One image in particular
catches the eye of researchers, -
0:31 - 0:35as it shows what appear to be
the shadows of several pointed spires. -
0:38 - 0:40On November 20, 1966,
-
0:40 - 0:43the lunar Orbiter 2, NASA's probe,
-
0:43 - 0:46photographs this area on the Moon
-
0:46 - 0:49that was actually
in the Sea of Tranquility, -
0:49 - 0:51only 300 kilometers away
-
0:51 - 0:54from where Apollo 11 ended up landing.
-
0:54 - 0:56And what's so bizarre
-
0:56 - 1:00is that this area
has undeniable architecture -
1:00 - 1:04that looks like what
you would see from obelisks. -
1:07 - 1:09There're eight different spires.
-
1:09 - 1:12And scientists calculated
that the largest of these spires -
1:12 - 1:16would be an obelisk
that is 15 stories tall. -
1:18 - 1:22These do appear to be just
like an Egyptian-style obelisk. -
1:23 - 1:26But what the heck
are they doing on the Moon? -
1:28 - 1:30Of the multiple
anomalies on the Moon, -
1:30 - 1:35I think the spires are some
of the most fascinating ones -
1:34 - 1:38because astronomers have calculated
-
1:38 - 1:41that these spires are very tall
-
1:42 - 1:46for them to be exclusively
natural occurrences. -
1:48 - 1:50They have to be artificial,
-
1:50 - 1:53simply from the fact
that the Moon has been bombarded -
1:53 - 1:56in kind of an incessant meteoric rain
-
1:56 - 1:59for 4.5 billion years.
-
1:59 - 2:04There is no way that anything
bigger than a basketball -
2:04 - 2:07can be standing straight up
on the lunar surface. -
2:10 - 2:13The inference
is that NASA would have known this -
2:13 - 2:16and that one of the reasons
that they sent their mission there -
2:16 - 2:19was so that the astronauts
of the Apollo mission -
2:19 - 2:21could gain more information
-
2:21 - 2:23about these artificial
structures on the Moon. -
2:23 - 2:25(overlapping chatter)
-
2:33 - 2:37On Apollo 11, when the astronauts
were descending to the lunar surface -
2:37 - 2:39they got this very strange computer alarm.
-
2:44 - 2:46The famous "1202" computer alarm.
-
2:47 - 2:48And basically, nobody knew what it was.
-
2:49 - 2:50What it came out to,
-
2:50 - 2:54was that the computer itself
was overwhelmed with information... -
2:55 - 2:58...because Buzz Aldrin,
the lunar module pilot, -
2:58 - 3:02had turned on the radars
on the lunar lander. -
3:02 - 3:03It had two radars.
-
3:03 - 3:05It had a side looking radar
-
3:05 - 3:06and it had a docking radar.
-
3:06 - 3:09So, in other words,
you had one that pointed down, -
3:09 - 3:10and one that pointed to the side.
-
3:10 - 3:14Now, if there's nothing
on the surface of the Moon, -
3:14 - 3:16if there are no artificial structures,
-
3:16 - 3:20if there are no spires
sticking 10-20 stories up into the sky, -
3:20 - 3:23why would you turn on the side radar?
-
3:23 - 3:26There's no reason to, but Aldrin did it.
-
3:26 - 3:29And I think it's because he knew
and NASA knew -
3:29 - 3:32that there was some danger
of running into these things. -
3:33 - 3:37Is it possible that NASA actually
has knowledge of structures on the Moon? -
3:39 - 3:44In 1960, NASA officials commissioned
a report from the Brookings Institute -
3:44 - 3:49to weigh the implications of the discovery
of evidence of extraterrestrial life. -
3:50 - 3:52Due to the findings of the report,
-
3:52 - 3:56researchers believe it was determined
before the Moon missions -
3:56 - 3:59to keep any extraterrestrial findings
hidden from the public, -
4:00 - 4:02for fear of social unrest.
-
4:05 - 4:08Since the time of the very first
Apollo Moon missions, -
4:09 - 4:15researchers have pored over NASA
and Russian photos of the Moon -
4:16 - 4:19looking for structures.
-
4:19 - 4:22And they found some unusual things.
-
4:23 - 4:25You would think in fact
-
4:25 - 4:28that if extraterrestrials
are on the Moon or were -
4:28 - 4:30that they would've built
all kinds of structures. -
4:30 - 4:33And we're able to see some of these,
-
4:33 - 4:38even though NASA scientists
don't acknowledge them as genuine. -
4:41 - 4:43Huntsville, Alabama.
-
4:43 - 4:46July 24, 1969.
-
4:49 - 4:52A crowd of thousands
gathers in Courthouse Square -
4:52 - 4:56to cheer on the triumphant return
of Dr. Wernher von Braun, -
4:57 - 5:01just hours after Apollo 11's
Columbia Command Module -
5:01 - 5:04splashed down in the Pacific Ocean.
-
5:06 - 5:10The United States had achieved
what many believed was impossible: -
5:11 - 5:13putting a man on the Moon.
-
5:16 - 5:21The picture ran in newspapers
around America, the following day, -
5:21 - 5:25celebrating the genius rocket engineer
who was behind it all. -
5:27 - 5:28Von Braun is a titan, you know,
-
5:28 - 5:31he's one of the major figures
of the last century. -
5:31 - 5:34And he was way ahead of his time.
-
5:35 - 5:39Von Braun adamantly believed
that humanity's future was in space. -
5:41 - 5:46He's the greatest voice we've had
in the history of the space program. -
5:50 - 5:53Considered by NASA to be
the "Father of Rocket Science," -
5:54 - 5:57von Braun is credited
with either inventing -
5:58 - 6:01or helping to develop many
of the most sophisticated -
6:01 - 6:04aerial technologies that exist today,
-
6:04 - 6:07like the supersonic anti-aircraft missile,
-
6:09 - 6:11the ballistic missile,
-
6:11 - 6:13the first American satellite,
-
6:13 - 6:16and the first U.S. space vehicles,
-
6:16 - 6:19including the enormous Saturn V rocket
-
6:19 - 6:22that enabled man to reach the Moon.
-
6:23 - 6:27Without exaggeration,
the Apollo program has been called -
6:27 - 6:30"the greatest achievement
that mankind has ever accomplished." -
6:33 - 6:36Without Wernher von Braun,
we would have not reached the Moon. -
6:36 - 6:39To date, the Saturn V
is the most powerful rocket -
6:39 - 6:41that we've ever built.
-
6:43 - 6:46Von Braun's incredible engineering feats
-
6:46 - 6:49were matched only
by his all-consuming crusade -
6:49 - 6:51to send man into space.
-
6:52 - 6:56In the 1950s, when space travel
seemed a fantasy, -
6:56 - 6:59Wernher von Braun
teamed up with Walt Disney -
6:59 - 7:02to convince a skeptical public
-
7:02 - 7:04that putting man on the Moon
was not only possible, -
7:04 - 7:08but that it would happen
in their lifetimes. -
7:09 - 7:13In these films, watched
by an estimated 42 million people, -
7:13 - 7:16von Braun boldly predicted
-
7:16 - 7:19not only how we would
send men into space, -
7:19 - 7:22but also the use of protective suits,
-
7:22 - 7:24lunar landing vehicles,
-
7:24 - 7:26orbiting space stations,
-
7:27 - 7:30and even manned trips to Mars.
-
7:33 - 7:34If we were to start today
-
7:34 - 7:38on an organized
and well-supported space program, -
7:38 - 7:40I believe a practical passenger rocket
-
7:40 - 7:44could be built and tested
within ten years. -
7:46 - 7:48But who exactly was
this engineering genius -
7:49 - 7:52with such extraordinary visions
for the future? -
7:53 - 7:55Why did he believe so strongly
-
7:55 - 7:59that man could and should
travel into space? -
8:00 - 8:03And what did he expect to find
when we got there? -
8:08 - 8:12Wernher von Braun was born March 23, 1912,
-
8:12 - 8:15in a small town in Eastern Prussia.
-
8:16 - 8:18The second of three sons,
-
8:18 - 8:21Wernher grew up a child
of wealth and privilege. -
8:22 - 8:25But while he was born
into an accomplished family, -
8:25 - 8:29Wernher's keen intellect
and unusual passions stood out. -
8:30 - 8:32His father once said,
-
8:32 - 8:34"I don't know where
his talent comes from," -
8:34 - 8:37and stated on more than one occasion
-
8:37 - 8:39that he considered his son a mystery.
-
8:41 - 8:43Wernher von Braun was multitalented.
-
8:43 - 8:45Both sides of his brain were working.
-
8:45 - 8:49He could think about technical things
and imagine rocketry and space travel, -
8:49 - 8:51but he was an accomplished musician.
-
8:53 - 8:56And these traits manifested very early.
-
8:56 - 8:57I think his parents knew
-
8:57 - 9:00by the time he was four or five
that he was very special. -
9:00 - 9:03His mother gave him a telescope
when he was young, -
9:03 - 9:05and he looked at the moon and said,
-
9:05 - 9:08"I want to go there. I want to build
the machine that will go to the Moon." -
9:08 - 9:11And of course, he did
half a century later. -
9:14 - 9:16Tranquility Base, Houston.
-
9:16 - 9:20Guidance recommendation, is PGNS,
-
9:20 - 9:22and you're cleared for takeoff.
-
9:22 - 9:23July 21, 1969.
-
9:26 - 9:30Approximately 21 and a half hours
after landing on the Moon, -
9:30 - 9:34the lunar module Eagle lifts off
-
9:34 - 9:37to rejoin the command module Columbia
-
9:37 - 9:39and begin the return to Earth.
-
9:39 - 9:44The astronauts take with them
47.5 pounds of lunar surface material, -
9:45 - 9:48and they leave some items behind as well,
-
9:48 - 9:50like scientific instruments,
-
9:51 - 9:53an American flag,
-
9:53 - 9:56and a small plaque
commemorating the Apollo 11 mission. -
9:57 - 10:01But perhaps most curious
of the items left on the moon -
10:01 - 10:05was a small bag containing
a gold replica of an olive branch -
10:06 - 10:08and a silicon disk
-
10:08 - 10:10with recorded messages
of peace and goodwill -
10:11 - 10:13from 73 world leaders.
-
10:14 - 10:17Why were these symbolic
messages sent up into space? -
10:17 - 10:21Some ancient astronaut theorists suggest
-
10:21 - 10:24that the mastermind
behind the Apollo program, -
10:24 - 10:28Wernher von Braun, was expecting
to find more on the Moon -
10:28 - 10:31than NASA wanted the public to know.
-
10:31 - 10:34Wernher von Braun famously said
-
10:34 - 10:37that the next world war
will be the war against the ETs, -
10:38 - 10:40his remarks were hugely controversial.
-
10:40 - 10:43Some people have said
that he was simply saying -
10:43 - 10:47there can't be another world war
now that we've got atomic weapons. -
10:49 - 10:52Other people have speculated
that he knew something -
10:52 - 10:55and he was hinting at some terrible truth.
-
10:56 - 10:59Another story relates that
von Braun claimed -
10:59 - 11:04that "we had help from 'them'
to get us into space". -
11:04 - 11:07If anybody knew
about the extraterrestrials, -
11:07 - 11:10it would've been a guy
like Wernher von Braun. -
11:12 - 11:15Some ancient astronaut theorists propose
-
11:15 - 11:20that not only did alien beings
have a hand in man reaching the moon, -
11:20 - 11:22but that once there,
-
11:22 - 11:25we discovered further evidence
that we are not alone. -
11:26 - 11:30And they claim
the strongest proof can be found -
11:30 - 11:33by examining our last
manned trip to the Moon: -
11:34 - 11:37the Apollo 17 mission in 1972.
-
11:37 - 11:40We definitely weren't told everything,
-
11:40 - 11:43and there's monkey business played
with the moon landings, of course, -
11:43 - 11:45as far as what we know about them.
-
11:46 - 11:49Apollo 17 was, in fact,
a technology salvaging mission. -
11:49 - 11:52Yeah, looks like there's been
a geologist here before us. -
11:52 - 11:54Some of it has to do
with the actual landing site itself. -
11:54 - 11:56There were several mountains in the area
-
11:56 - 11:58that don't look like mountains.
-
11:58 - 12:00One of them is very hexagonal-looking.
-
12:00 - 12:04And they bear a striking resemblance
to actual artificial structures. -
12:05 - 12:08The astronauts went directly
for this hexagonal mountain. -
12:08 - 12:11They parked on the hill above it
-
12:11 - 12:13and then they got out of the lunar rover.
-
12:13 - 12:16What's interesting is that,
for the next 20 or 30 minutes, -
12:16 - 12:19NASA has control
of the camera on the rover, -
12:19 - 12:22and they point it at everything
except what the astronauts are doing. -
12:23 - 12:27They had plenty of time to rappel down
inside of this V-shaped depression. -
12:29 - 12:32It's really interesting that we don't see
any of the astronauts at all -
12:32 - 12:34until they come back to the lunar rover.
-
12:34 - 12:36There's no question
that the mystery would be -
12:36 - 12:38what they were looking for,
what they found, -
12:38 - 12:41could it possibly have been
ancient alien technology? -
12:42 - 12:45Ancient astronaut theorists suggest
-
12:45 - 12:48that even more compelling
than the hexagonal formation -
12:48 - 12:51is what appears
at another spot that was filmed: -
12:53 - 12:54the Shorty Crater.
-
12:56 - 13:00- There is orange soil!"
- Well, don't move it until I see it. -
13:01 - 13:04- It's all over! Orange!
-
13:05 - 13:09In Shorty Crater, you can see orange soil
that was discovered at the landing site. -
13:09 - 13:11And the reason the soil was orange
-
13:11 - 13:14was because it had
a great deal of oxygen in it, -
13:14 - 13:15which was kind of a surprise.
-
13:15 - 13:18But the biggest surprise
is, if you actually look in the crater, -
13:18 - 13:21what you see are objects
that at first, -
13:21 - 13:23might to the naked eye appear to be rocks,
-
13:23 - 13:27but in fact, as you study it
with an engineer's eye, -
13:27 - 13:29what you see is mechanisms.
-
13:30 - 13:34And right in the middle of it,
there's a very interesting object -
13:34 - 13:36that as you zoom up on it,
it begins to look -
13:37 - 13:40more and more like a human head.
-
13:42 - 13:45Mike Bara and fellow researcher
Richard Hoagland -
13:45 - 13:48obtained early generation negatives
from Shorty Crater, -
13:48 - 13:51and upon enhancing
the colors present in the film, -
13:52 - 13:54found that the object appears metallic.
-
13:55 - 13:58The most intriguing thing is that,
on the upper part of the mouth, -
13:58 - 14:01there was a bright, distinct
red stripe painted across it. -
14:01 - 14:05And it glowed and shone
as if it were metallic. -
14:06 - 14:09You then come to the realization
that what you're probably looking at -
14:09 - 14:13is the head of a humanoid-appearing robot.
-
14:13 - 14:16The leftovers of an explosion
that damaged and destroyed -
14:16 - 14:19a bunch of mechanical stuff.
-
14:23 - 14:26Reaching the Moon
was such an unbelievable feat -
14:26 - 14:29that even to this day,
many people are convinced -
14:29 - 14:33the entire event was actually staged
in a Hollywood studio. -
14:36 - 14:38But ancient astronaut theorists suggest,
-
14:38 - 14:41not only did we land on the Moon,
-
14:41 - 14:45but what we found there
was more incredible than we know. -
14:46 - 14:48During the 1969 Apollo Moon mission,
-
14:48 - 14:53after the landing there was
a very strange two-minute gap -
14:53 - 14:55in radio transmissions.
-
14:55 - 14:58And what happened
during those two minutes -
14:58 - 15:00has been subject to a lot of controversy.
-
15:02 - 15:05Neil, this is Houston, radio check, over.
-
15:08 - 15:10Columbia, this is Houston, over.
-
15:13 - 15:17According to scientist
and NASA researcher Otto Binder, -
15:17 - 15:21various ham radio operators
were able to intercept -
15:21 - 15:24secret communications with Mission Control
-
15:24 - 15:26that were not made public.
-
15:27 - 15:30The astronauts apparently talked about
-
15:30 - 15:34seeing extraterrestrial
objects on the Moon, -
15:34 - 15:40including flying saucers
parked along the edge of a crater -
15:40 - 15:42within their view.
-
15:43 - 15:44Now, the truth of it is,
-
15:44 - 15:48is that each of the astronauts
had a separate medical channel. -
15:49 - 15:51That channel was not public
-
15:51 - 15:55and it could have been very easily
used to communicate information -
15:55 - 15:59that you didn't want to be heard
over the general public transmissions. -
15:59 - 16:02What's really interesting
about that story, though, -
16:02 - 16:05is the fact that, within 30 minutes
of the landing on the Moon, -
16:05 - 16:08that story was circulating
around NASA, that -
16:08 - 16:11"Hey, guess what. They saw
something on the rim of a crater. -
16:11 - 16:13"They were all upset.
They didn't know what to do. -
16:13 - 16:15"They didn't know if they should go out."
-
16:16 - 16:20It is interesting when you watch the feed
of when they came back from the Moon. -
16:20 - 16:23They're not sitting there
jumping up and down for joy -
16:23 - 16:26and saying, "I had the most
incredible experience in my life, -
16:26 - 16:27I was on the Moon."
-
16:27 - 16:28They're not saying that.
-
16:28 - 16:31They look very solemn, very depressed.
-
16:31 - 16:32They're looking down.
-
16:32 - 16:36They almost look like they want to vomit,
that's how disturbed they look. -
16:38 - 16:40Could they have seen something there
-
16:40 - 16:43that they didn't want to tell the public
because of the implications? -
16:47 - 16:49I believe that...
-
16:50 - 16:52what this country set out to do
-
16:52 - 16:56was something that was going
to be done sooner or later. -
16:59 - 17:00We find for the first time
-
17:00 - 17:04that man has the flexibility
or the option -
17:04 - 17:07of, either walking this planet
or some other planet. -
17:09 - 17:13It's the beginning of a new age.
-
17:18 - 17:20After Apollo 11, NASA would send
-
17:21 - 17:23six more manned missions to the Moon,
-
17:23 - 17:28culminating with Apollo 17
in 1972. -
17:30 - 17:32One of the most interesting questions
-
17:32 - 17:34with regard to our interaction
with the Moon -
17:35 - 17:39is why we have never gone back there again
since the Apollo missions -
17:39 - 17:41and what else is very telling
-
17:41 - 17:44is that although the URSS at the time
-
17:44 - 17:49was getting to be quite able
to send its own astronauts to the Moon, -
17:49 - 17:51it never seems to have done so.
-
17:52 - 17:56Could it be that there were agencies
associated with the Moon? -
17:56 - 18:01Aliens or other beings
who had warned humanity -
18:01 - 18:03to stay away for some reason?
