Check out our new video that explains the process of training a precise single paw target to an object. This skill is needed as a basis for many more complex and advanced service dog tasks and helps with general body awareness. I might eventually even teach the dog to distinguish between the left and right paw on verbal cue.
Start with larger targets, then shrink down to a small target that your dog touches with one paw.
It can be generalized to teach a dog to push on door buttons for disabled access etc.
