Mariners Select UNC C Luke Stevenson with the 35th Pick in 2025 MLB Draft

With the 35th pick of the 2025 MLB

draft, the Seattle Mariners select Luke

Stevenson, a catcher from the University

of North Carolina.

The Minnesota Twins have the next pick.

Well, according to Brian Gaines, the

pitching coach, they said Stevenson's X

factor is what he does off the field.

How he takes care of his body, recovers

after his performances, takes care of

the rest of his teammates around him. Of

course, guys, I'm going to talk about

it. My favorite factor. 1,500 plus PB&J

sandwiches for his teammates. Everybody

is eating when they're around Luke

Stevenson.

I could use a PB&J right now. Melan, I

think we all could. Well, maybe Luke

will take care of us. Now, he's really

interesting. This is a good upside pick

for where they got him. You look at the

grades here. There's a lot of above

average tools there. Hit 33 homers in

two years at UNCC. He's got a plus arm.

He's a strong defender behind the plate.

I think the big question, Carlos, is how

much is he going to hit at 251 with 24%

K rate? And he, you know, the two best

catchers in this draft, unquestionably,

Kaden Boddine, who we just saw pick a

couple picks ago, and Luke Stevenson,

but they're really entirely different

kinds of players.
