Portes Obertes en Família 2025

  • 0:13 - 0:17
    -The Family Open Days
    are an important commitment
  • 0:17 - 0:20
for our university: we are the public
    university of Castelló
  • 0:20 - 0:24
    and we should have
    a return to our society.
  • 0:24 - 0:28
It is an opportunity for families
    of Castelló, the province
  • 0:28 - 0:31
    and from others communities
    can visit us.
  • 0:31 - 0:34
They can get to know the resources
    that the university offers
  • 0:34 - 0:38
to their children and that they can be
  • 0:38 - 0:43
    part of this important decision
    process for choosing a degree.
  • 0:43 - 0:49
This year, we are very thankful
    because more than 1,000 people
  • 0:49 - 0:51
    from another communities
    have visited us.
  • 0:51 - 0:53
    Apart from that, there are
    some developments:
  • 0:53 - 1:01
as a result of the UJI's commitment,
as you can see in the Agora.
  • 1:01 - 1:05
    For the first time,
we have organised a service fair
  • 1:05 - 1:11
so that colleagues from all services
that address and attend our students
  • 1:11 - 1:13
have been able to be here.
  • 1:13 - 1:16
    A whole range of resources
    that the university makes available
  • 1:16 - 1:20
    to future students and families.
  • 1:20 - 1:25
-I am delighted that the UJI
    has had the initiative
  • 1:25 - 1:29
to make a day that brings
    the university closer to families
  • 1:29 - 1:32
and families closer to the university.
  • 1:32 - 1:35
    It's a great opportunity
    to offer families
  • 1:35 - 1:38
    a joint vision
    of what we do here,
  • 1:38 - 1:42
that it's not only teaching, but also
    research, activities, facilities...
  • 1:42 - 1:44
    My experience tells me
    that society doesn't know
  • 1:44 - 1:46
    what goes on here
    and it's an opportunity.
  • 1:46 - 1:49
Second year of high school is too late.
  • 1:49 - 1:53
I would recommend doing it sooner.
  • 1:53 - 1:57
At the end of secondary school
they still don't have much of an idea,
  • 1:57 - 2:01
but they listen what we offer them
    in Castelló.
  • 2:01 - 2:04
    Students have to study
    what they like
  • 2:04 - 2:07
    because that is intrinsic motivation.
  • 2:07 - 2:09
My advice is: don't get obsessed
    with cut-off marks.
  • 2:09 - 2:12
If the first year you missed
three tenths and you didn't get in,
  • 2:12 - 2:14
    there are more opportunities afterwards.
  • 2:14 - 2:18
    Secondly, sometimes there is
    an idealization of the degree
  • 2:18 - 2:19
    but the reality is different.
  • 2:36 - 2:42
-It has been a very rewarding to be
able to come with my parents here,
  • 2:42 - 2:47
in a very friendly place, to give us
    the opportunity to meet them,
  • 2:47 - 2:49
not only us, but also our family.
  • 2:49 - 2:55
    -It's my first time here
and I found it a good experience
  • 2:55 - 3:01
to know all this space, and
this information that you provide us
  • 3:01 - 3:07
is going to be very useful
when it comes to focus our opinions
  • 3:07 - 3:09
and know what we want to do
    in our future.
  • 3:09 - 3:11
-I am in the 2nd year of high school.
  • 3:11 - 3:14
I came here because my parents
    were interested in seeing
  • 3:14 - 3:18
where I will study, where I am
going to develop as a person
  • 3:18 - 3:21
and that's why I have come
to the Open Days at the UJI.
  • 3:21 - 3:25
I will look at the Faculty
    of Humanities and Social Sciences
  • 3:25 - 3:28
because I want to do the Degree
    in Primary Education
  • 3:28 - 3:29
or, if possible, the double degree.
  • 3:29 - 3:33
    -It's a great opportunity
    and a great idea
  • 3:33 - 3:36
    because the parents involved,
    whoever wants to be involved,
  • 3:36 - 3:40
    can better understand the ideas
    that the institution offers
  • 3:40 - 3:42
    and help their children.
  • 3:42 - 3:45
As a mother, my conscience urges me
to remain by my child's side
  • 3:45 - 3:47
and help him in any way I can.
  • 3:47 - 3:51
    -I studied at this university,
    so I already know it
  • 3:51 - 3:53
although now it is much bigger
    than when I came here.
  • 3:53 - 3:59
My son is in 4th of ESO and he wants
to see what he can study
  • 3:59 - 4:02
    for high school as well,
so we found out about these days
  • 4:02 - 4:06
and we thought it was interesting
to come the whole family to support him
  • 4:06 - 4:09
so that he could get to know
the degree he wants, the campus
  • 4:09 - 4:13
and I was also looking forward
to go back to where I had studied.
