In Srikrishnapur village of Januganja Panchayat, Remuna Block, Balasore District, around 20 families earn their livelihood through traditional bamboo craftsmanship. This age-old skill has not only provided them with economic stability but also shaped their daily lives. From dawn till dusk, villagers are engaged in collecting bamboo from nearby forests and crafting various tools and items by hand.

However, these families are now urging the government to support and expand this bamboo-based livelihood. They believe that by strengthening this traditional industry, their children can be assured of a better future. Alongside this, they are also calling for greater focus on education to ensure a brighter tomorrow for the next generation.
