২০০৬ সালে পাশ হওয়া বনাধিকার আইন অনুযায়ী, জঙ্গলবাসী মানুষদের তাদের ঐতিহ্যগত বনভূমি ও সম্পদের ওপর অধিকার নিশ্চিত করার কথা ছিল। কিন্তু পশ্চিমবঙ্গের ঝাড়গ্রাম সহ জঙ্গলমহলের বহু এলাকায় আজও এই আইন বাস্তবায়িত হয়নি।

সরকারি উদাসীনতা ও দায়িত্বজ্ঞানহীনতার কারণে, বনবাসীরা বারংবার আবেদন জানিয়েছেন, আন্দোলন করেছেন — তবুও তাদের ন্যায্য অধিকার প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়নি।

The Forest Rights Act, 2006 was enacted to ensure the land and livelihood rights of traditional forest dwellers. But in areas like Jhargram in Jangalmahal, West Bengal, the law remains largely unimplemented even after 18 years.

Despite repeated applications, protests, and peaceful agitations, the forest communities are still fighting for what is rightfully theirs. The government's apathy has only deepened their struggle.

In this video, we explore their ongoing movement and demand for the immediate implementation of the Forest Rights Act — to protect their homes, their heritage, and their future.
