The Guru is the very embodiment

    Tasmai Shri Guruve Namaha.
    Tasmai Shri Guruve Namaha.
  • 4:11 - 4:27
    OM
  • 4:29 - 4:36
Let there be peace and love
among all beings of the universe.
  • 4:36 - 4:40
    Let there be peace.
    Let there be peace.
  • 4:40 - 4:44
    Om Shanti Shanti Shanti.
  • 4:44 - 4:46
    Namaskar.
  • 4:52 - 4:54
    Welcome to satsang.
  • 4:54 - 4:59
    Without stillness of mind
  • 4:59 - 5:03
    enlightenment is not possible.
  • 5:05 - 5:13
Unless the mind is totally erased,
    rooted out,
  • 5:13 - 5:20
you cannot be happy or free.
  • 5:21 - 5:24
    How to still the mind?
  • 5:24 - 5:31
The mind can be instantly stilled
  • 5:31 - 5:35
    if you give up
  • 5:35 - 5:41
    the most dear object,
  • 5:41 - 5:49
person, or a thing that you
    are holding in your mind.
  • 5:49 - 5:54
Instantly the mind will be free.
  • 5:54 - 5:59
    Mind is not still because
  • 5:59 - 6:05
    you are holding on
    something very dear to you.
  • 6:05 - 6:12
May it be some person, or a thing,
  • 6:12 - 6:15
    or anything.
  • 6:15 - 6:22
That's why the mind is going
    always towards that object.
  • 6:24 - 6:29
    Therefore you are not happy,
    you are not peaceful.
  • 6:29 - 6:32
    So if you think,
  • 6:33 - 6:40
    if you investigate where the
    mind is being drained out,
  • 6:40 - 6:42
    peace is being drained out,
  • 6:42 - 6:48
    you will immediately find
    there can be some person,
  • 6:48 - 6:55
    some thing, some concept in
your mind that is troubling you.
  • 6:55 - 6:58
    How to do it?
  • 6:58 - 7:03
    By discernment.
  • 7:04 - 7:09
    You can discern
  • 7:09 - 7:15
the object in question which is holding
your mind and disturbing your peace.
  • 7:15 - 7:20
    Is it worthwhile?
  • 7:20 - 7:23
    Real?
  • 7:23 - 7:27
    Permanent?
  • 7:27 - 7:32
Then you can do something about it.
  • 7:32 - 7:40
Because anything which is not real
    is not worthwhile holding it.
  • 7:40 - 7:48
Once there was a man who
went to stay with the teacher
  • 7:48 - 7:54
just because he wanted to be free,
    he wanted to be happy,
  • 7:54 - 7:57
and he wanted to win enlightenment,
  • 7:57 - 8:02
so he went to stay with the teacher.
  • 8:02 - 8:04
    Long time he stays.
  • 8:04 - 8:08
His teaching is not working on this,
  • 8:08 - 8:11
    on the student.
  • 8:11 - 8:18
    So through his insight
he found out this man is attached.
  • 8:18 - 8:25
So he asked him a question: "To whom my
dear child, to whom you are attached to it?
  • 8:25 - 8:35
"What I speak is not working
just like rain on the desert.
  • 8:35 - 8:40
"It's useless. My teaching is useless to you.
  • 8:40 - 8:42
    "To whom you are attached?"
  • 8:42 - 8:49
He said, "Master, I am attached with my wife.
  • 8:51 - 9:00
"Always, all the time, I am
    attached with my wife inside.
  • 9:00 - 9:06
"I have a deep longing of my wife
  • 9:06 - 9:11
"and I don't pay to your attention."
  • 9:11 - 9:15
So the teacher explains to him,
  • 9:17 - 9:23
"Wife is not dear to you
    because she is your wife.
  • 9:23 - 9:29
"Neither the husband is dear to the
wife because he is her husband.
  • 9:29 - 9:34
    "Anyone that you love is
    for the sake of Self.
  • 9:35 - 9:39
"You love your wife not because of the wife.
  • 9:39 - 9:42
"Because of the Self you love.
  • 9:42 - 9:46
    "The wife loves the husband
    not because of the husband.
  • 9:46 - 9:50
"Because of the Self she likes,
    loves her husband."
  • 9:50 - 9:56
So immediately he got this point.
  • 9:56 - 10:02
"So if it is for the sake of Self I love my wife,
  • 10:02 - 10:12
"so Self is here and now; if I love my
own Self, I have loved all beings.
  • 10:12 - 10:14
    "Everyone I have loved."
  • 10:14 - 10:17
    So he found this teaching.
  • 10:17 - 10:29
And this man instantly got this teaching
deep into his heart and he became free.
  • 10:29 - 10:36
So you have to still the mind
    by staying with the teacher,
  • 10:36 - 10:42
    discernment, reasoning,
(if) a thing is real or unreal.
  • 10:42 - 10:47
What could be real except your own Self?
  • 10:47 - 10:54
    And by meditation, also constant
    meditation on the Self.
  • 10:54 - 11:00
So whatever is suitable to you,
    you can practice.
  • 11:00 - 11:11
    The main aim is happiness,
    freedom, peace, bliss.
  • 11:11 - 11:17
    And this you can attain
    instantly when you long for,
  • 11:17 - 11:27
    when you have deep longing
    for the wisdom or peace.
  • 11:27 - 11:33
You have to get rid of your all
    attachments of the objective attachments,
  • 11:33 - 11:36
    instantly,
  • 11:36 - 11:42
    because they are not eternal,
    they are not real.
  • 11:42 - 11:48
    And this samsara, this maya,
  • 11:48 - 11:55
this universe is full of objects.
  • 11:55 - 12:02
And which is a real object
that is your intimate eternal friend?
  • 12:02 - 12:07
    You have to discern, investigate,
  • 12:07 - 12:09
    reason out,
  • 12:09 - 12:17
and you will find nothing is dear
to you except your own Self.
  • 12:18 - 12:27
May it be sometime you see there is
fire in the building, in the apartment.
  • 12:27 - 12:31
All around building is gutted with fire.
  • 12:32 - 12:34
    What happens?
  • 12:34 - 12:42
You have got money in your,
    in the apartment.
  • 12:42 - 12:47
You don't go to open the chest
    and take the money.
  • 12:47 - 12:54
    Then children are sleeping,
    wife is also sleeping.
  • 12:54 - 12:58
    But fire is engulfing
    and coming close to you.
  • 12:58 - 13:01
    What will you do?
  • 13:01 - 13:08
Are you going to wake up your wife and
see that you are lifting? No. Nobody's...
  • 13:08 - 13:10
You save yourself first of all.
  • 13:10 - 13:15
    You first run out yourself,
    jump from the window,
  • 13:15 - 13:19
and you don't carry anybody else, you see.
  • 13:19 - 13:21
    So, in these occasions,
  • 13:21 - 13:31
when you were put to test that
nobody is going to accompany you.
  • 13:31 - 13:40
In the departure, at the time of departure, everybody
will be looking at you and you will simply go away.
  • 13:40 - 13:44
So we are speaking about stillness of mind.
  • 13:44 - 13:54
Stillness alone is possible when you give up
all your attachment towards your dear ones.
  • 13:54 - 14:00
And who could be dear to
    you except your Self?
  • 14:00 - 14:11
So this is very easy to understand when you are
staying in the company of some holy person
  • 14:11 - 14:16
or you can do it by yourself
    sitting quiet and reason out.
  • 14:16 - 14:23
    Reasoning also is association,
    a wise association.
  • 14:23 - 14:31
If your intellect is keen and
    sharp, not dull,
  • 14:31 - 14:36
    then you can find out
the peace is here and now.
  • 14:36 - 14:40
Freedom also is here and now.
  • 14:40 - 14:47
The delay is: you don't long it,
you don't want it, you don't desire it.
  • 14:47 - 14:50
    You want something else.
  • 14:50 - 15:00
And that something else is surely
    not abiding, not real.
  • 15:00 - 15:13
So when we are longing for something
    which is temporary, not permanent,
  • 15:13 - 15:17
    it's not wisdom.
  • 15:20 - 15:28
So you have to still your mind by,
  • 15:28 - 15:36
by these methods which I have told you:
    association with the holy person,
  • 15:36 - 15:44
    or reasoning, or also constantly
    meditating on your own Self.
  • 15:44 - 15:47
    You can do it.
  • 15:47 - 15:51
    Peace is always there within.
  • 15:51 - 15:58
But we are attached to things outside,
  • 15:58 - 16:05
which will not pay us in the long run.
  • 16:21 - 16:23
    OM
  • 16:45 - 16:48
    Jannia.
  • 17:00 - 17:02
    "Dear Papa.
  • 17:02 - 17:11
"Thanks to you, the journey from
fish market back to the ocean
  • 17:11 - 17:19
"has, is a most pleasant experience.
  • 17:19 - 17:30
"No effort required just to sit quiet,
trusting the current and ignoring the bait.
  • 17:33 - 17:37
"cast by the hungry fisherman of the mind."
  • 17:37 - 17:40
    Very good letter.
  • 17:40 - 17:48
"During this day in Lucknow, the most
    important introduction of a life,
  • 17:48 - 17:51
    "lifetime, was made.
  • 17:51 - 17:54
    "You introduced me to myself."
  • 17:54 - 17:59
    - Who is Jannia? What?
    - Jannia.
  • 17:59 - 18:05
    Jan... Who is Jannia?
    Come here.
  • 18:05 - 18:08
    Jannia.
  • 18:23 - 18:25
    Very good.
  • 18:27 - 18:34
    "The most important introduction
    of a lifetime was made.
  • 18:34 - 18:40
"You introduced me to myself" Okay?
  • 18:40 - 18:44
    "Oh, what a delightful meeting!
  • 18:44 - 18:49
"A union it is, now nothing matters.
  • 18:49 - 19:01
"Fear, suffering, rain, etc. are all
    merely words without meaning.
  • 19:01 - 19:14
"Thank you for sharing the very essence of your
being with all of us to bathe in its presence.
  • 19:14 - 19:26
"A most cleansing warm experience and
permeates to each and every cell of my body.
  • 19:26 - 19:33
"What a wonderful family you have fathered here.
  • 19:33 - 19:38
"Eternally grateful to be a part of it.
  • 19:38 - 19:49
"My body leaves Lucknow this evening
but myself will forever be in this satsang.
  • 19:49 - 19:53
"Thank you Master Papa of my love.
    Jannia."
  • 19:53 - 19:57
    - Where do you come from?
    - Australia. Australia?
  • 19:57 - 20:01
    Australia. Good.
  • 20:15 - 20:17
    When did you come here?
  • 20:17 - 20:20
I came in the middle of December.
  • 20:20 - 20:25
I arrived in India at the beginning of December
and I came here on the 15th.
  • 20:25 - 20:26
    Accha.
  • 20:26 - 20:31
And I stayed for 3 weeks and then I went to Goa and
then I came back and I've been here for 3 weeks.
  • 20:31 - 20:33
    - You are leaving?
    - Tonight.
  • 20:33 - 20:36
    Tonight. Very good.
  • 20:36 - 20:41
So I'm very happy to read
    your experience.
  • 20:41 - 20:46
    I'm very happy. Wonderful.
  • 20:48 - 20:50
    Wonderful.
  • 20:54 - 21:01
So how could you express your
    being... introduction, introduction?
  • 21:01 - 21:04
    You said, no?
  • 21:04 - 21:09
I have introduced you to yourself.
  • 21:09 - 21:14
So what is this introduction like? Yes.
  • 21:14 - 21:19
    It's like a song I suppose.
  • 21:41 - 21:45
So you both like each other
    now. Yes. Yes?
  • 21:45 - 21:50
    - Yes, very much.
    - Very much. Okay.
  • 21:50 - 21:56
Are you sure you will be not,
    not lost among the kangaroos?
  • 21:56 - 21:59
    Kangaroos will trouble
    you all around, you see.
  • 21:59 - 22:00
    No.
  • 22:00 - 22:08
Because your language will be different and
kangaroos will not understand what you speak.
  • 22:08 - 22:14
    - What will you do?
    - Just hop along with them.
  • 22:26 - 22:30
This you learn from kangaroos, no?
  • 22:30 - 22:33
They are very clever, you know?
  • 22:33 - 22:35
    They're very clever.
  • 22:35 - 22:42
They sit in the middle of road
and look onto your eyes, no?
  • 22:42 - 22:46
And you have to stop the car, isn't it?
  • 22:49 - 22:52
    Very good.
  • 22:53 - 23:02
I'm very happy. Please, if you like to speak
more, we will be very happy on this. Yes.
  • 23:02 - 23:06
    - Okay
    - Any... Yes.
  • 23:06 - 23:09
    - How?
    - This introduction only.
  • 23:09 - 23:17
    Yes. How does it happen?
    Where? When? How?
  • 23:18 - 23:21
    Yes.
  • 23:21 - 23:25
    - It just happens automatically when...
    - When?
  • 23:25 - 23:27
    When you believe that,
  • 23:27 - 23:32
when you believe what you say.
You listen, and it's true, and you know,
  • 23:32 - 23:40
and you know that the Self is all,
and the rest is just wrapping paper.
  • 24:00 - 24:06
Okay. Sit down here then. Sit down.
  • 25:04 - 25:11
"Master, I don't afraid you anymore.
  • 25:11 - 25:16
    "Sorry for my English.
  • 25:16 - 25:24
"I trust you. I feel my heart
    is opening to your love."
  • 25:24 - 25:27
    Who is Naveen?
  • 25:27 - 25:29
    Naveen.
  • 25:41 - 25:45
    Sit down here.
  • 25:46 - 25:49
    Sit down here.
  • 25:49 - 25:58
"My dry ego knows that you are
    very dangerous, dangerous man.
  • 25:58 - 26:01
    "But....
  • 26:09 - 26:16
"But this is like challenge for me.
    It attracts me.
  • 26:16 - 26:22
    "During the last few years,
    I had several experiences.
  • 26:22 - 26:26
"It was the dissolving in everything.
  • 26:26 - 26:29
    "It was love itself.
  • 26:29 - 26:35
"My ego used to come back and speak to me
  • 26:35 - 26:48
"that I got this rare great experience which
    maybe nobody has xperienced before.
  • 26:48 - 26:57
"It's amazing that such a great
    ego is rising from nothing.
  • 26:57 - 27:03
    "I was pulled to Lucknow.
    Now I am here.
  • 27:03 - 27:10
    "Something is burning inside
    and I cannot sleep.
  • 27:10 - 27:20
"This something is pushing me to throw
to your feet everything that I have.
  • 27:20 - 27:28
"Help to finish with my ego.
  • 27:28 - 27:37
    "Master, show me that which
never dies and which is love itself.
  • 27:37 - 27:45
"Thank you that you are here.
    Thank you for your love.
  • 27:52 - 27:58
    "I don't write good English.
    If I write not correct.
  • 27:58 - 28:05
    "Sometimes I don't understand
your words but it doesn't matter.
  • 28:05 - 28:09
    "Thank you."
  • 28:09 - 28:12
    So words are not important.
  • 28:12 - 28:16
As your English is not important.
I can find out, you see.
  • 28:16 - 28:22
I have corrected many words here also.
  • 28:29 - 28:33
    It's not important.
  • 28:33 - 28:40
    So what experience you've been
having, only it was satisfaction of the ego.
  • 28:40 - 28:43
That was not a right experience, you see.
  • 28:43 - 28:48
It is the ego that experiences,
    you see, everything.
  • 28:48 - 28:52
So you have to give up the ego.
  • 28:52 - 29:01
When you have no ego then this
    experience will come to you,
  • 29:01 - 29:04
    not through the mind.
  • 29:04 - 29:11
    And what experience after all
to know, to be as you are?
  • 29:11 - 29:20
    What experience do you need
    to be as you are?
  • 29:20 - 29:23
    What experience do you need?
  • 29:23 - 29:30
What do you want to understand
    to be as you are?
  • 29:30 - 29:33
    That's all.
  • 29:33 - 29:37
You don't need anything to understand.
  • 29:37 - 29:42
You don't need any experience either.
  • 29:42 - 29:47
So what is the hindrance in this thing?
  • 29:47 - 29:51
    This you have to locate.
  • 29:51 - 29:55
    Becoming has to go.
    Becoming has to go.
  • 29:55 - 30:00
What you have become, you have to shun.
  • 30:00 - 30:04
You have to give up what you have become.
  • 30:04 - 30:08
It's of no use. it will disturb you.
  • 30:08 - 30:11
    "I am so and so."
  • 30:12 - 30:20
So, if you somehow get rid of this thing,
you return to what you have been always.
  • 30:20 - 30:25
And this is the place of peace, rest, love,
  • 30:25 - 30:28
    beauty, nothing else.
  • 30:28 - 30:33
Yeah. I want. I want to get rid of it. Yes.
  • 30:33 - 30:37
Not want. "I have done it," say, no?
  • 30:37 - 30:40
    Want is want.
  • 30:40 - 30:48
Man wants so many things. "I want
to become king." So he's not a king.
  • 30:48 - 30:51
Everybody would like to become a
king. Who doesn't want to become?
  • 30:51 - 30:54
But you have to be equipped.
  • 30:54 - 30:59
You have to throw away your begging bowl.
  • 30:59 - 31:01
    No more begging.
  • 31:01 - 31:07
    Throw away your begging bowl.
  • 31:07 - 31:12
Throw away your behavior of a beggar.
  • 31:12 - 31:17
    Yes. Don't beg anything.
  • 31:18 - 31:23
If you don't beg anything means:
    I don't want anything.
  • 31:23 - 31:26
    I don't desire anything.
  • 31:26 - 31:31
Just for one second, just for trial:
  • 31:31 - 31:35
    I don't desire anything.
  • 31:35 - 31:39
    Just for one second make
    a trial on this time.
  • 31:39 - 31:45
For the first time don't give
    any food to mind.
  • 31:45 - 31:48
Desire is the food of mind.
  • 31:48 - 31:54
    On this the desire has
    now become very fat.
  • 31:54 - 31:57
It needs more and more food.
  • 31:57 - 32:01
    More you fill its stomach,
    the more it wants more,
  • 32:01 - 32:03
    more every day.
  • 32:03 - 32:09
    And you can't fill the
    stomach of the mind.
  • 32:09 - 32:12
No one can say, I am satisfied.
  • 32:12 - 32:15
    Even king is not satisfied.
  • 32:15 - 32:17
    He has a territory.
  • 32:17 - 32:24
    He has queens, ministers, gold,
    elephant, still he's not satisfied,
  • 32:24 - 32:30
yet he wants to invade on
    the territory of the other.
  • 32:30 - 32:35
    Not yet fulfilled his desire.
  • 32:35 - 32:37
    Yes.
  • 32:39 - 32:43
So simply you give up desire,
  • 32:43 - 32:47
and then you are at rest.
  • 32:49 - 32:53
You have no desire when you
sleep and you are happy. Isn't it?
  • 32:53 - 33:00
You have no desire and sometime
for 5 hours, 6 hours, you are happy.
  • 33:00 - 33:04
    Because you have no desire.
  • 33:04 - 33:11
You are happy by giving up
    all desire for everybody:
  • 33:11 - 33:17
    "I don't want this. I don't want that."
And you are happy with the sleep.
  • 33:17 - 33:21
    You can do it now.
  • 33:21 - 33:25
You can spend one second on you.
  • 33:26 - 33:31
Try. For the sake of trial do it,
    and then speak.
  • 33:31 - 33:39
"I did it. I gave up all desire, and I
didn't find peace during that second."
  • 33:39 - 33:42
    And you speak to me.
    You come to me.
  • 33:42 - 33:46
Complain. Then I will tell you.
  • 33:49 - 33:56
Can't you spend one second of
your own self for your own self?
  • 33:56 - 33:59
All life you've spent for others, isn't it?
  • 33:59 - 34:02
All life for the use of others.
  • 34:02 - 34:06
You are being used by others, you see.
  • 34:09 - 34:19
So make use of yourself at least for one
second in this human incarnation, you see.
  • 34:19 - 34:24
Otherwise as you mention about the pigs,
  • 34:24 - 34:35
what is the difference between pig and man then,
if he can't devote time for peace and rest, you see?
  • 34:40 - 34:41
    So.
  • 35:26 - 35:29
    [Inaudible]
    I am....
  • 35:30 - 35:32
    Good.
  • 35:33 - 35:36
    Yes
  • 35:40 - 35:45
If there's any trouble, any difficulty,
speak up. It has to be solved, no?
  • 35:45 - 35:49
    Don't shy.
  • 35:50 - 35:52
    - I can't speak.
    - What do you say?
  • 35:52 - 35:56
    - I can't speak.
    - Can't speak. Okay.
  • 35:56 - 35:58
    Okay.
  • 36:20 - 36:24
    That time is blessed when,
    while one cannot speak,
  • 36:24 - 36:28
    because love is the moment
    when one cannot speak.
  • 36:28 - 36:33
    Love, and then one, oneness.
  • 36:33 - 36:38
    When one is oneness,
    when one cannot speak.
  • 36:38 - 36:45
Because whenever one speaks, there has to
be someone else, no?, to speak to. Isn't it?
  • 36:45 - 36:48
    Someone else to speak to.
  • 36:48 - 36:55
    And when you are alone
    to whom you will speak?
  • 36:55 - 37:04
And then this silence is a
    wonderful sleep, wonderful speech.
  • 37:04 - 37:09
    This silence is wonderful
    speech, you see?
  • 37:11 - 37:20
And this is the original speech of
    everything, everybody, every person.
  • 37:20 - 37:25
From here the speech arises, you see.
  • 37:25 - 37:31
From silence the speech arises, you see. Yes.
  • 37:31 - 37:39
You have to be silent, then express your
    silence through word, through word.
  • 37:39 - 37:46
    Word is a second hand
    expression of silence, you see.
  • 37:46 - 37:49
    What else?
  • 37:52 - 37:58
So if you are silent, you don't need to speak.
  • 38:02 - 38:04
    Isn't it?
  • 38:12 - 38:15
    Sit down there.
  • 38:44 - 38:52
"Ken. I wish to meet you face to face,
eye to eye, heart to heart."
  • 38:52 - 38:57
    Ken. Who's Ken?
  • 39:26 - 39:31
    "I wish to meet you."
This meeting is taking place now, isn't it?
  • 39:31 - 39:35
    - Wonderful.
    - This meeting is taking place: number one.
  • 39:35 - 39:37
    Number two: face to face.
  • 39:37 - 39:44
I remove this. Face to face also
    is completed. Number two.
  • 39:44 - 39:47
    Number three: eye to eye.
  • 39:47 - 39:52
    - That also is done, isn't it?
    - Okay.
  • 39:52 - 39:59
    And heart to heart.
Now here is the problem, now.
  • 40:09 - 40:12
    Heart to heart.
  • 40:18 - 40:23
Okay. Now heart to heart also finished.
  • 40:23 - 40:26
    - Everything finished.
    - Everything finished.
  • 40:26 - 40:28
    - But after that one more.
    - One more step?
  • 40:28 - 40:30
    - Still that you do not know.
    - Yes.
  • 40:30 - 40:33
    - Something more you have to add here.
    - Yes.
  • 40:33 - 40:40
    - That you do not know. I will tell you.
    - Okay.
  • 40:40 - 40:45
    Everybody's waiting.
    What's going to happen?
  • 40:47 - 40:52
Yes. So what it could be?
  • 40:52 - 40:57
To meet, two bodies are needed. Huh?
  • 40:57 - 41:03
    Then eye to eye:
    two retinas are needed.
  • 41:03 - 41:07
    Two eyes are needed. No?
    Eye into eye.
  • 41:07 - 41:12
    Face into face:
    two faces are needed.
  • 41:12 - 41:15
    Heart to heart is excellent.
  • 41:15 - 41:24
But beyond this there's one more step,
when everyone has to speak, you see.
  • 41:24 - 41:33
    Beyond heart, beyond heart
    to heart meeting, you see.
  • 41:33 - 41:36
What you had... what did you write?
  • 41:36 - 41:45
    Meeting heart to heart, no?
Yes. "I want to meet heart to heart."
  • 41:46 - 41:53
So here when the heart and heart
is meet, there's no meeting at all.
  • 41:53 - 41:58
    Heart meeting heart,
    there's no meeting at all.
  • 41:58 - 42:01
    It is not becoming also.
  • 42:01 - 42:07
    Before there were meetings.
Meeting eyes, meeting faces. Isn't it?
  • 42:07 - 42:10
    Meeting hearts.
  • 42:10 - 42:18
So when they meet... a river
entering the ocean, are they two?
  • 42:18 - 42:22
    River discharge into the
    ocean becomes ocean.
  • 42:22 - 42:28
So heart also when it meets heart,
    it's not a meeting.
  • 42:28 - 42:34
So river cannot say, "I'm going to meet
the ocean," and meeting is still a meeting.
  • 42:34 - 42:37
    No. It is ocean now.
  • 42:37 - 42:47
Now here, in this particular case, when
the heart meets heart there's no meeting.
  • 42:47 - 42:49
    No meeting at all.
  • 42:49 - 42:54
So it removes all the concepts
    of meetings previously, you see.
  • 42:54 - 43:01
    So meeting concept comes
    when you are away,
  • 43:01 - 43:04
    away from someone,
    you are separate.
  • 43:04 - 43:08
    In separation the question
    of meeting arises.
  • 43:08 - 43:12
So that separation is no more there.
  • 43:12 - 43:15
    When heart to heart;
  • 43:15 - 43:22
    from somewhere you came to
Lucknow to meet body when body.
  • 43:22 - 43:28
Staying here also, many people are staying here,
we are living in the same place,
  • 43:28 - 43:31
yet face to face meeting is not taking (place).
  • 43:31 - 43:36
    Face to face meeting also
    you see in supermarket.
  • 43:36 - 43:44
Face to face meeting, yet eye to eye a different
thing. Heart to heart still different thing you see.
  • 43:44 - 43:55
But when you become heart itself, then you will
see that you have never separated any time, you see.
  • 43:55 - 43:58
There had been no separation at all.
  • 43:58 - 44:03
The separation brought you to meet heart.
  • 44:03 - 44:07
    This is called separation.
That's why we ask for freedom.
  • 44:07 - 44:11
    Why freedom? We are,
    everybody is free. Why freedom?
  • 44:11 - 44:19
Because we feel, knowingly or unknowingly,
that we have been separated from someone.
  • 44:19 - 44:22
    Therefore, we suffer.
  • 44:22 - 44:26
And when we meet, we will be happy.
  • 44:26 - 44:31
So having met with heart into heart,
  • 44:31 - 44:34
and perhaps then heart also is a word.
  • 44:34 - 44:38
    This is not the heart
I would tell you that meets.
  • 44:38 - 44:46
This is not the heart on the left,
or right ,or inside, or outside.
  • 44:46 - 44:55
That heart is not the heart which
is propelling blood into your lungs.
  • 44:55 - 44:57
    Everybody has got this concept.
  • 44:57 - 45:04
Wherever say heart and everybody does it [put
hand on chest]. No, no. It's not that heart.
  • 45:04 - 45:11
So it is That Heart from where you sense
that this heart is on the left side of the body.
  • 45:11 - 45:13
    What about that intelligence?
  • 45:13 - 45:21
So that heart (is) neither inside nor outside.
  • 45:21 - 45:23
    Can you conceive of it?
  • 45:23 - 45:30
That Heart, so that meeting is awaked.
  • 45:30 - 45:37
Heart to heart. We are all one. Love each other.
This is up to heart to heart meeting.
  • 45:37 - 45:50
And then what about That Heart where
is no bodies, no minds, no senses.
  • 45:50 - 45:56
And where is That Heart which is not
    even pronounced the word heart?
  • 45:56 - 45:59
    No word also is there.
  • 45:59 - 46:02
    We simply say heart.
  • 46:02 - 46:07
If you know That Heart which is not
yet known, and that is your own:
  • 46:07 - 46:10
    That You Are.
  • 46:10 - 46:15
    This meeting is still,
you meet That Heart, you see.
  • 46:15 - 46:19
Or That Heart is not meeting.
    It is Being.
  • 46:19 - 46:21
    Not becoming.
  • 46:21 - 46:24
    Not meeting.
  • 46:24 - 46:31
Being itself is called Heart. Now Being,
you can't say this or that, inside or outside.
  • 46:31 - 46:40
So when you have that Being,
experience of Being, then all is over.
  • 46:40 - 46:47
And this is called freedom, enlightenment,
    whatever, whatever names you give.
  • 46:47 - 46:56
But it is beyond any names, beyond any
descriptions that is supposed to be.
  • 46:56 - 46:59
    No name.
  • 46:59 - 47:05
    With namelessness, formlessness,
    thoughtlessness, mindlessness.
  • 47:05 - 47:11
You just jump to have a final meeting.
  • 47:13 - 47:22
And I will be very thankful to you
after having this leap onto That.
  • 47:22 - 47:28
And you will please tell me
    this looks like this thing.
  • 47:28 - 47:31
    Some news from there.
  • 47:31 - 47:38
    I'll be very happy to
    hear you from there,
  • 47:38 - 47:43
    which is nowhere.
  • 47:43 - 47:46
    - Are you getting it?
    - Am I waiting it?
  • 47:46 - 47:50
    Getting it.
  • 47:51 - 47:57
    - That's all. This nodding is enough.
    - Okay. Yes.
  • 49:04 - 49:08
    Who is Daniel? Daniel
  • 49:13 - 49:17
Sit down here. Don't sit there.
    Daniel.
  • 49:17 - 49:18
    Chalo.
  • 49:36 - 49:43
    "Through inquiring Who am I?,
I have began to see habit of 'I'."
  • 49:53 - 49:58
Have you inquired, first of all, Who am I?
    Have you inquired even once?
  • 49:58 - 50:02
    - Have you inquired?
    - I have tried. I've tried.
  • 50:02 - 50:06
Tried. What do you mean by tried?
  • 50:06 - 50:09
    Do it now.
  • 50:12 - 50:23
There's no trials. No triels needed.
You have to do it. Inquire Who am I? That's all.
  • 50:23 - 50:27
Why to write all these things?
  • 50:27 - 50:31
    "With the changes
    happening inside me..."
  • 50:31 - 50:36
And this me again is, is the inquiry:
    Who am I?
  • 50:36 - 50:40
    "Through inquiry, I feel."
This 'I' is to inquire. Who am I?
  • 50:40 - 50:45
    "I feel. I sometime...."
This I is to be inquired. Who is this 'I'?
  • 50:45 - 50:49
"...come to the edge of the ocean.
  • 50:49 - 50:56
"But again, I, I have not done.
Again, I am lost in the mind."
  • 50:56 - 51:02
This 'I' has to be inquired.
    You have not understood.
  • 51:02 - 51:07
You have not followed how to do it.
  • 51:12 - 51:16
    Inquire: Who am I?
  • 51:16 - 51:22
Go find out the source of 'I.'
    That it means.
  • 51:22 - 51:27
    Find the source of 'I.'
  • 51:27 - 51:32
    Where the 'I' rises from?
    Where does it come from?
  • 51:32 - 51:41
Like the wave from the ocean; when you utter
the word 'I,' isn't it I?, 'I': Where does it rise from?
  • 51:41 - 51:45
    - I don't know. I don't know.
    - Ah, okay. "I do not know."
  • 51:45 - 51:50
    When you do not know,
then 'I' is no more there. Isn't it?
  • 51:50 - 51:52
    Yes.
  • 51:56 - 52:00
You went to inquire Who am I?
  • 52:00 - 52:05
Then I said, Find out from
    where does it spring from?
  • 52:05 - 52:12
You said, I do not know.
Okay. Let the 'I' go now.
  • 52:12 - 52:18
So now, not knowing is there.

Tasmai Shri Guruve Namaha

The discourse that follows is from the 29th December 1992. Papaji talks about the need for the Mind to be still. "Without stillness of mind enlightenment is not possible. Unless the mind is rooted out, you cannot be happy or free. The mind can be stilled if you give up the things that are dearest to you by discerning: Is it worthwhile, real, and permanent? You have to still the mind by staying with a teacher, or by reasoning out what is real, or by constant meditation. When the house is on fire you jump out the window and save yourself. Holding on something that is not permanent is not wisdom. These attachments won’t pay in the long run."

The compilation includes the following:
- JANNIA from Australia: Forever in Satsang. I have been introduced to the Self. This introduction happens when When you believe what you say. You listen, and it's true, and you know that the Self is all, and the rest is just wrapping paper.
- NAVEEN: Have had many dissolution experiences, but they were ego experiences. Master show me that which never dies and is love itself.
PAPAJI: Be as you are. Becoming has to go. Don’t beg. Don’t desire. Desire is the food of mind. Love and oneness is the moment when one cannot speak. This silence is wonderful original speech.
- KEN: I wish to meet you face to face, heart to heart.
PAPAJI: When heart meets heart there’s no meeting and no melting. It removes all concept of meeting and separation. It is not the heart that melts, it’s that heart neither outside nor inside. No bodies, no mind, no senses. That Heart is Being itself.
- DANIEL: Through inquiring Who am I?, I have began to see habit of 'I.'
PAPAJI: Don't touch the 'I.' It is finished. Inquiry is finished. Now, from here you ask me the question, not using the word 'I' again. What is your experience in this not knowing?
