Shunglipora, a remote village in Kashmir’s Budgam district, relies on a single 2km road as its only link to the outside world. Once repaired in 2015, this vital route has since fallen into severe disrepair, making daily life an ongoing struggle for the 35 households that depend on it.
For the residents of Sunglipora, the crumbling road is more than an inconvenience—it’s a barrier to essential services, emergency aid, and economic opportunities. The deteriorating condition forces villagers to navigate treacherous terrain, delaying access to healthcare, education, and markets.
Despite repeated pleas to authorities, the issue remains unresolved, leaving the community trapped in a cycle of neglect. This is the story of a village fighting for a basic right—reliable access to the rest of the world.
