China is DESPERATE! Trump Tariffs Cut Deep

  • 0:00 - 0:09
China has a strategy to counter Trump’s
tariffs, but will it be enough to beat the US?
  • 0:09 - 0:11
Welcome to China Uncensored. I’m Chris Chappell.
  • 0:11 - 0:17
YouTube has been trying to suppress China
    Uncensored and promote pro-CCP content.
  • 0:17 - 0:23
    But we’re fighting back—and winning.
Join me in Operation Honey Pot Phase 3,
  • 0:23 - 0:27
leave a honey pot comment to show
    YouTube we’ve got engagement,
  • 0:27 - 0:33
and subscribe to our free newsletter to
subvert YouTube censorship. The link is below.
  • 0:33 - 0:35
And now, on with the show!
  • 0:35 - 0:40
The Chinese Communist Party is being backed into
a corner by US President Donald Trump’s tariffs,
  • 0:40 - 0:46
even if they’re only 145 percent , not
400 percent as Mr. Wonderful would like,
  • 0:46 - 0:54
or 1776 percent as some people on
    the internet are clamoring for.
  • 0:56 - 1:01
But China is fighting back—the only
way they know how! With stubbornness
  • 1:01 - 1:07
and skullduggery. Skullduggery is not a word
that gets used enough in modern parlance.
  • 1:07 - 1:09
Of course, there are the retaliatory tariffs…
  • 1:09 - 1:12
And cutting off the US from critical exports.
  • 1:12 - 1:14
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
  • 1:14 - 1:19
Here are four more crazy slash
    utterly predictable ways China
  • 1:19 - 1:21
is fighting back against Trump’s tariffs.
  • 1:21 - 1:26
    Number 1: diplomacy warfare.
  • 1:27 - 1:31
    This week, Chinese leader Xi
    Jinping is visiting Southeast Asia.
  • 1:31 - 1:39
You mean the CCP is actually entering another
country’s territory with consent for a change?
  • 1:39 - 1:45
There’s a reason why he chose that
as his *first* overseas trip in 2025.
  • 1:45 - 1:49
    Tons of Chinese investors and
    manufacturers have moved there.
  • 1:49 - 1:55
And China has relied on them as shipping
stopover points to get goods around US
  • 1:55 - 2:00
tariffs and sanctions. What? This ship
totally came from Vietnam, not China!
  • 2:00 - 2:05
Trump knows this, which is why he initially
threatened high tariffs on Southeast Asia.
  • 2:05 - 2:10
Vietnam’s responding to this by eyeing
    crackdowns on some Chinese trade.
  • 2:10 - 2:12
    That’s something China wants
    to stop from happening,
  • 2:12 - 2:16
which is why Xi made Vietnam his first stop.
  • 2:16 - 2:19
    While there, Xi signed a
    bunch of economic agreements.
  • 2:19 - 2:24
And called for China and Vietnam to deepen
building a community with a shared future,
  • 2:24 - 2:29
And they might have a shared future.
This is incredibly risky for Vietnam.
  • 2:29 - 2:34
Trump paused tariffs on Vietnam for
90 days. If after that time is up,
  • 2:34 - 2:40
Trump feels Vietnam is capitulating to China,
those tariffs could go back in full force.
  • 2:40 - 2:46
That should also be the concern for
    Xi’s next stop—Malaysia and Cambodia.
  • 2:46 - 2:48
    Malaysia is especially important.
  • 2:48 - 2:50
    It’s this year’s ASEAN chair.
  • 2:50 - 2:58
And it’s set to host the first ever Asean-Gulf
Cooperation Council Summit, with China invited.
  • 2:58 - 3:02
Ooh, never invite the CCP. They’re
like vampires. Once you let them in,
  • 3:02 - 3:07
they’ll suck you dry. And it’s likely they’ll
claim your home was always a part of China.
  • 3:07 - 3:12
While these tours are happening, Chinese
state run media is churning out propaganda
  • 3:12 - 3:15
Accusing the US of unilateral bullying.
  • 3:15 - 3:19
While China is as “A reliable partner.”
  • 3:19 - 3:23
    Well, they certainly are reliable,
if by that you mean predictable.
  • 3:23 - 3:28
Yup, you can always rely on China
    to be utterly, utterly predictable.
  • 3:28 - 3:30
China’s eyes aren’t just on Southeast Asia.
  • 3:30 - 3:34
    It’s also trying to woo
    Europeans with similar messages,
  • 3:34 - 3:39
Like that China and the EU should
    jointly resist “unilateral bullying”...
  • 3:39 - 3:44
    And work together to safeguard
    global trade rules and justice.
  • 3:44 - 3:48
In other words, the global trade
    system the CCP has weaponized.
  • 3:48 - 3:52
    Unfortunately, some in Europe are
biting. Which once again proves that
  • 3:52 - 3:56
just because someone has a European
    accent doesn’t mean they’re smart.
  • 3:56 - 4:01
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez is one
of them. He met with Xi Jinping in Beijing…
  • 4:01 - 4:04
And is pushing the EU closer to China.
  • 4:04 - 4:06
    And it’s not just Spain.
  • 4:06 - 4:11
The French foreign minister is also
    batting for a “Franco-Chinese partnership”…
  • 4:11 - 4:14
And China and Ireland are seeking stronger ties.
  • 4:14 - 4:16
    Which makes sense if you
    think about it. After all,
  • 4:16 - 4:23
just look at all that China
has to offer the western world!
  • 4:26 - 4:28
Yeah, that’s kind of a problem.
  • 4:28 - 4:35
Which is why the CCP has unleashed an army
of China-simp influencers upon the internet.
  • 4:35 - 4:38
That brings me to the next strategy
  • 4:38 - 4:41
    Number 2: Psychological Warfare
  • 4:41 - 4:44
    To bolster Xi’s chances of
    success in Southeast Asia,
  • 4:44 - 4:50
    Pro-CCP influencers have been promoting
how much Southeast Asians love China,
  • 4:50 - 4:53
    Touting how Chinese brands
    are everywhere in Malaysia…
  • 4:53 - 4:59
And how people from Malaysia, Vietnam, and
Laos just love Chinese movies and TV shows.
  • 4:59 - 5:02
    Yes, everyone loves China.
  • 5:02 - 5:08
    Especially the Philippines.
Look at those skyscrapers. And high speed trains.
  • 5:08 - 5:13
But the message that’s also being pushed
is that China is more powerful than the US,
  • 5:13 - 5:18
    that tariffs against it are
pointless and only hurt the US.
  • 5:18 - 5:23
    The conclusion: China is
    unstoppable. It already won.
  • 5:23 - 5:27
China remains robust despite trade restrictions.
  • 5:27 - 5:33
    Meanwhile, Americans are needlessly
suffering a war they already lost.
  • 5:33 - 5:36
“In this tariff war, the only people
  • 5:36 - 5:39
    losing is American people.”
, “When it comes to the USA,
  • 5:39 - 5:44
we have never had the upper hand over China.
“And just when Trump thought he was going to flex
  • 5:44 - 5:51
up on China with his tariffs and trade war, they
bitch-slapped us right back with transparency.”
  • 5:51 - 5:57
“The actual machinery to manufacture at the
quality that we need primarily exists in China.”
  • 5:57 - 6:02
“So you can probably see why a fifty percent
or even a two or three hundred percent tariff
  • 6:02 - 6:08
would still not make me or almost any other
    business move to American manufacturing
  • 6:08 - 6:13
for these sort of products. Because it
    still doesn’t make sense financially.”
  • 6:13 - 6:17
So what are you waiting for? Come to China!
Where you can get cheap Chinese crap…
  • 6:17 - 6:19
…and hopefully not find yourself being
  • 6:19 - 6:23
    kidnapped for hostage diplomacy! It’s
slightly cheaper, so it’s worth it!
  • 6:23 - 6:27
But when warping the minds of your
enemy isn’t enough, the CCP resorts to..
  • 6:27 - 6:30
    Number 3: Outright Deceit
  • 6:30 - 6:35
    Chinese companies are using outright
lies and deception to get around tariffs.
  • 6:35 - 6:39
Like I mentioned earlier, Trump is
cracking down on the way China uses
  • 6:39 - 6:43
    third-party countries to escape
    tariffs and sanctions. He’s also
  • 6:43 - 6:46
cracking down on other loopholes like
the de minimis exception for China,
  • 6:46 - 6:51
    which allowed shipments of cheap
Chinese crap to come in duty-free.
  • 6:51 - 6:58
But Nikkei Asia reports that China’s logistics
sector is challenging Trump’s tariff enforcers…
  • 6:58 - 7:01
    by helping merchants sidestep duties.
  • 7:01 - 7:06
They’re offering what’s known as “double
    clearance and tax inclusive services”.
  • 7:06 - 7:07
    Here’s how it works.
  • 7:07 - 7:10
Say you’re selling some Chinese honey.
  • 7:10 - 7:12
A Chinese logistical provider will offer to handle
  • 7:12 - 7:18
    both export clearance in China
and import clearance in the US.
  • 7:18 - 7:23
This includes goods declarations and paying
import duties, as well as other fees.
  • 7:23 - 7:29
That Chinese logistical provider will do what’s
called double invoicing. The logistical provider
  • 7:29 - 7:36
shows one invoice to US customs authorities that
undervalues the value of the honey, which leads to
  • 7:36 - 7:43
reduced duties. Meanwhile, the buyers and sellers
of that honey use a second invoice that reflects
  • 7:43 - 7:50
the true transaction value. They categorize that
invoice under a service not subject to tariffs…
  • 7:50 - 7:53
    …such as marketing.
  • 7:53 - 7:57
    Logistics providers are also outright
lying in their invoices and falsifying
  • 7:57 - 8:00
customs entry summaries to reduce tariffs owed.
  • 8:00 - 8:04
So even with tariffs as high as 145 percent,
  • 8:04 - 8:06
    or 1776 percent,
  • 8:06 - 8:11
    Chinese manufacturers would only
need to pay a little more in duties.
  • 8:11 - 8:15
    Meanwhile, “the logistics companies profit
by pocketing the difference between what
  • 8:15 - 8:19
they charge the manufacturers to cover
customs and what they actually pay.”
  • 8:19 - 8:25
And if you’re wondering why China is going
to such complex, convoluted lengths to
  • 8:25 - 8:32
avoid these tariffs instead of simply not
being as awful anymore… great question!
  • 8:32 - 8:34
So that takes care of China’s international image
  • 8:34 - 8:36
    and sidestepping the tariffs,
  • 8:36 - 8:39
but what about those people at home who don’t much
  • 8:39 - 8:44
care for the way the CCP is handling
the situation? Those people do exist.
  • 8:44 - 8:48
    Because the Chinese people aren’t
    a homogenous blob that believes
  • 8:48 - 8:53
    everything they’re told to believe
by the CCP. That’s the pro-CCP NPCs.
  • 8:53 - 8:55
Which is why the last strategy is:
  • 8:55 - 8:58
    Number four: censorship!
  • 8:58 - 9:04
Former deputy director of the Chinese Academy of
Social Sciences’ Public Policy Research Center He
  • 9:04 - 9:10
Bin criticized China’s tariffs on Chinese social
media, saying they were “completely misguided”.
  • 9:10 - 9:11
    But he didn’t stop there.
  • 9:11 - 9:17
He also said, “It’s like saying, ‘If you
dare hit your wife, I’ll hit my wife.’”
  • 9:17 - 9:23
Of course, China’s no stranger to being an
abusive spouse even to its own people. So that
  • 9:23 - 9:27
analogy doesn’t really work because China
sees it and thinks, “Challenge accepted!”
  • 9:27 - 9:32
He Bin also said, “The US raising tariffs
is like lifting a rock only to drop it on
  • 9:32 - 9:36
its own feet. We shouldn’t be
    doing the same to ourselves.”
  • 9:36 - 9:39
    China not doing something
    stupid and self-destructive
  • 9:39 - 9:43
    challenge? Difficulty: impossible.
  • 9:43 - 9:46
To no one’s surprise, the Public Policy
    Research Center was officially scrapped.
  • 9:46 - 9:48
I don’t know if I want to know what’s going
  • 9:48 - 9:52
to happen to He Bin. He’ll
probably wind up in a bin.
  • 9:52 - 9:56
    Meanwhile, China’s censoring
    tariff-related posts on social media.
  • 9:56 - 10:01
They’ve been censoring hashtags and searches for
words like “tariff” and “104” back when Trump’s
  • 10:01 - 10:05
tariffs on Chinese goods were 104 percent.
    Meanwhile, Chinese state-run media is
  • 10:05 - 10:10
    pushing out local propaganda about
how much tariffs are hurting the US,
  • 10:10 - 10:16
With state-media initiated hashtags like, “America
is fighting a trade war while begging for eggs”
  • 10:16 - 10:21
    And “China does not provoke
trouble but is never afraid of it”
  • 10:21 - 10:28
China doesn’t provoke trouble? You know what
clip I’m about to show *again*, don’t ya?
  • 10:28 - 10:29
This has to be a record.
  • 10:29 - 10:34
Chinese media keeps insisting, both in print
and on social media, that China is strong,
  • 10:34 - 10:40
strong strong. Meanwhile, anything showing the
negative impacts of Trump’s tariffs on China is
  • 10:40 - 10:46
absolutely taboo on Chinese social media, because
then that would show that the CCP has weaknesses.
  • 10:46 - 10:50
    And weakness is not something
the CCP wants to ever show.
  • 10:50 - 10:53
They want to show strength everywhere they go,
  • 10:53 - 10:57
Whether they’re invited or not. Yup, officially
broke the record showing these clips.
  • 10:57 - 11:01
On that note, here’s something that’ll
make the CCP weak to its knees!
  • 11:01 - 11:06
Operation Honey Pot Phase 3. We have a brand new,
  • 11:06 - 11:10
free newsletter that we’re using to notify
you of new episodes because you’ve told us
  • 11:10 - 11:15
YouTube won’t notify you, even if you’re
    subscribed and have notifications on.
  • 11:15 - 11:18
There are also a lot of fun
    behind-the-scenes glimpses. You can
  • 11:18 - 11:21
    sign up at https://chinauncensored.substack.com
  • 11:21 - 11:26
And please, keep those honey pot emojis coming.
I love seeing those, and I do read your comments,
  • 11:26 - 11:31
even if I don’t have time to respond to everyone.
It has meant a lot to me in these tough times.
  • 11:31 - 11:33
Once again, I’m Chris Chappell. See you next time.
