This keyboard has a screen - Epomaker RT80 and RT65

So we're gonna check out
two keyboards here

from Epomaker,

who are also sponsoring this video.

They wanted me to check out

two of their keyboards

that are pretty unique.

One of them has a mini screen,

a detachable screen,

it also has a joystick.

And then the other one has another screen

built into it,

which is wild.

There's a lot actually going on here.

Anyway, let's actually look at the boxes.

Let's actually look
at what we've got here.

So yeah, this is the 65% layout.

RT65.

It has a detachable mini display, mini TV.

RGB lights, stuff like that.

Let's get into this one first.

Okay. Manual.

We don't need a manual.

Accessories.

Let's have a look at what we've got.

Okay, so we've got keys.

We have got the display.

Yo.

This is tiny.

USB-C as well.

That is tiny.

That's actually crazy how small it is.

What else have we got in here?

Oh, wow.

We have got one hefty USB cable here.

So USB-A on one end,

USB-C on the other.

Comes in a leather strap as well.

Let's get to the keyboard.

If you're a Mac user like me,

they do have the option

and command keys as well

so you can replace them on the keyboard.

So this is a 65% layout

and this colourway is quite interesting.

It's kind of like a beigey, browny colourway.

Not a colourway that you see that often,
to be honest, at all.

Already sounds...

Already sounds incredible.

This joystick here, though,

that is pretty cool.

It literally feels like a joystick that you get

on a proper controller.

I'm not sure what you would use it for, though.

I assume it's completely customisable,

so you can do whatever you like with it.

But I can imagine this on like a canvas.

Imagine like you're on Figma or Photoshop.

Being able to move around the canvas

with the joystick.

That'd be pretty cool.

Of course, we can turn it on.

And it has a 3000 mAh battery.

We can see the RGB effects there.

Pretty insane.

There's a lot going on here.

And they're south facing RGB as well,

so you can actually see them.

This is also pretty neat.

The RGB on there.

I assume you can customise that.

We also have the transmitter here

for connecting it wirelessly

to your PC.

I assume if you don't wanna use Bluetooth.

And of course,

the display goes in to here like so.

Oh, there we go.

Can you guys see that,

that they

just washed right away.

So it looks like

you can see your battery life.

You can see the date.

You can see

if I keep it up.

You can see

it's searching

for Bluetooth

connectivity.

That is pretty awesome.

That is actually sweet.

That's pretty smart.

This USB cable is really nice.

Has usb-a SBC on one end,

nice and thick and.

And yet

some orange accents as well.

These are some really nice USB cables.

Very premium feeling

I think the thickness of the cable.

Alina, is pretty awesome.

Let's move that aside.

And now let's look at the 48.

We have a display on here

as well, 75%

layout,

very similar to the 46,

but of course, a 75% layout.

And this one is in

my favourite colour white, which is black.

Like it's just nice and simple.

Accessories

should be fairly similar or nice.

I actually gave

a matching

USB cable with this one,

so you don't have

the same colour USB cable.

You do have a matching one.

This is a grey,

which I like and on this side.

Oh, interesting.

So they've given actually a bunch

of other keys here,

keycaps here.

So if you

have like the enter key in three

different colours pretty much.

Oh there's white as well.

Yes. Green.

White. Blue and red.

Oh I do like the look of this already.

This is probably already my favourite

out of the two

for a few reasons.

I mean, the main thing that is black here,

I really do like the look of this a lot.

This is a really nice looking keyboard.

Nice and minimal.

Nice and clean.

There's a screen here.

Let's peel that off.

Right.

So but what I also like

is that there's media controls.

So when I'm

either working or gaming,

I listen to music

all the time,

literally constantly being able

to have dedicated music controls

to control my music.

That is a really nice feature to have.

Oh, wow. Okay.

The IGB on this I think looks incredible.

Can actually see it

much better on this

on this keyboard.

The screen as well.

It's pretty awesome.

So we also have the

two point

is a 2.4 gigahertz

transmitter here as well.

If I can get it out there.

You got it.

Is 2.4 on the table,

four gigahertz transmitter as well

here.

It's actually nice

that we have it here

so that you don't lose it

because the amount of times of lost

dongles and transmitters and stuff,

because it's like in the box

or something, it's not actually attached

to the keyboard in some way.

Like it's just quite annoying.

So with the 18,

we have a 75% layout,

which is definitely my preferred layout.

I like having the functional off

keys 65%.

I know for some people,

like it's great is amazing,

but I always miss the functional off keys.

I just like having the dedicated wah

function keys

for my typing experience.

My typing preference is it

just makes more sense for me.

This also has a 5000 mah battery.

It's a much bigger battery

and so it should last

for quite a bit longer too.

On the bottom, there are different levels

that you can stand it up at,

which is nice because I know

for some people

that can be a

big thing, like having

the ability to

angle the keyboard up

can make a big difference.

Okay, so I've connected the keyboard

to my Mac, the Usb-C,

and we can see the screen.

This is in sort of its default state,

but we can swipe on it

and we can get some functions

to control our Mac.

And I'll see you have four functions here

for basically touch screen

panels

and yeah,

you can change what you have on them

as well as customisable

or so these are just the default options.

But that's pretty awesome

because you could basically pull

I think pretty much

whatever you like in here.

What blows my mind

about both of these keyboards

is the price.

They're less than $100 each of them.

I think this one last time I looked

was less than $70,

which is just crazy good value

for a keyboard like this

with all of this functionality.

So I also have an Apple magic

keyboard here

and you can see the difference.

Like there's a massive difference here.

Here you have a mechanical keyboard

and here you have

a saw Chiclet style keyboard.

We can see the magic keyboard

is thin and smaller,

but if you prefer

the mechanical typing experience,

of course you need something bigger.

You need something thicker

for the key travel

and the keys, the keyboard itself,

which isn't actually bigger.

So I've now connected this keyboard

via usb-c to my Mac

because I wanted to see

what the joystick does by default.

And the joystick by default

actually

does the music controls.

So you can change tracks

by going up and down

and then you can click it to mute,

and then you can also go left

and right to adjust the volume.

So this is quite funny.

I'm hoping you guys

can see this

with the software.

I wasn't able to upload a picture

to the screen on the keyboard

so you can have

anything you want to have ever.

You have a picture of your cat

or your dog or a loved one or whatever.

You can have it on the screen,

which is pretty funny.

You can even upload

your own sketches and stuff.

So I just randomly just drew a line

and yeah, you can upload it

so you can really sort of put

whatever you want on the little screen

that's attached to the keyboard.

Let's get into one of the keys.

Like, say we should be able to

remove.

Yeah, nice and easy.

The switch comes out super easy,

super clean,

and so you can change the switches out

if you want to.

You can have

whatever switches you like in this

and of course you can change

the keycaps as well.

So that's pretty nice to see

a lot of customisation options there.
