Xpredator Lodge to meet Bruce Farina

who's gonna be our fishing guide
for the coming days

We've only seen him before in Zander Pro
but never met him

It'll be so much fun to meet him

We've finally landed in Madrid
and the flight went great

I'm tired and also nervous
over our luggage

A lot is at stake if it get lost

- the colors we have just for this trip

Bruce our guide has helped us

where to pick up our luggage

And then we're gonna look out for
our flower luggage

How long have you been working on
Xpredator lodge?

here in Spain for 6 years

so you really know the surroundings,
water and everything

Yeah a place with the most beautiful and
big lakes

you need a lot of time to understand
the place like this

what species do you usually
for here?

Customers usually comes here for
bass fishing and pike

also we have Zander and a
species like barbel fishing

They live here in Extremadura
a total predator

normally, how and where do you fish?

we have 5 lakes here

or more like a dam

They are borned from Guadiana river

There are 3 principal lakes

Cigara lake, Carcia Sola and Orellana

They are so different from one
to another

The first example in Garcia Sola
it's more wide

Orellana it seems more like a desert

they come from the same river but
it's totally different

In one lake there is a lot of grass
and in another just rocks

Now I would say it's pretty early fall

what can you expect for like
the size of the fish

and also the amount of fish?

The season is not started now

This is not a easy moment because
some fish are on the shore

and some are in the middle

you must spend time in the 2 conditions
with 2 kind of different lures

the size for example the pike the good
moment is in the winter

there are just a big pike or a big bass

the best conditions for big fish

but the medium size for example pike
can be 80-90cm

and for bass 1-2kg

As Bruce said,
we're in between summer and fall

which can make the fish be at
different spots

we'll have to drive around a lot
and look for them

It'll be really exciting

I'm so stoked to do this

Bruce I asked you for some expert help
on coloring of the bait

and you haven't seen them in real life

I have them with me so let's
take a look

- I can see them for the first time

this is one of the color

This is flatnose with a rig

and some different kind of colors

The lighter color like this is better

It depends on the conditions
form the deep or kind of water

Which one do you think I should
start with today?

We can try to use one color of this one
and one like this

I'm gonna fish with monkey brute 12,5cm

And Bruce has designed this one

I've caught pike before on Monkey brute
but on 17cm

I'm excited to do the first cast now

we're fishing now at 4 meter dept

You can see bait fish everywhere

There are probably pike or Zander
that's hunting

it's a good sign

He told us to fish really slow
and close to the bottom

That's where the pikes are hiding

It feels like it's gonna strike any moment

I think I had a bite Hannah

and now you see bite marks

That's so great with brand new jigs
that you can see

I hardly felt it in the rod
