Hallo
-
So, yesterday I watched a video about a girl who seeemed unhappy with her life because she's a violinist
-
I'm not sure what to call her exactly, violinist?
-
But she plays violin professionally
-
She looked really sad
-
because she couldn't earn enough money from her skill
-
So, playing violin is the only thing she's really good at, the one thing she's confident in
-
At first, she thought she could make a living out of it.
-
Then I thought, maybe there are two types of people in this world
-
First, those who try to earn money from something they love, or cling to any job they can get as long as it pays
-
The second one is those who don't care about the money as long as they can do what they're passionate about
-
I realized I'm surrounded by people who work just to earn money
-
If they have passion, they choose to keep it as a hobby, something to escape with
-
And maybe being around them makes me believe in the same thing
-
That we need to separate what we love from what gives us income
-
That idea feels more realistic to me,
-
because we don't just live in the moment
-
Eventually, we have to fulfill our needs-primary or secondary
-
like housing, skincare, clothes, food, a place to rest, and so on
-
As we grow older, those are minimum things we need to secure
-
and we have to provide them by ourselves
-
It's unrealistic to keep pursuing something like a career for example as a pianist if we can't make money from it
-
It's not fair to keep relying on our parents, siblings, or people around us to meet our needs
-
I think one of the most important things in life is being responsible for ourselves
-
being able to provide for our lives, make decisions, stand on our own, and such things. That's what I mean by responsibility
-
Or everything you might think need to be handle with more responsible, that's what it is
-
At least, as a person we have to responsible with ourselves
-
As for dreams, I think they should come after we've secured our basic needs or primary needs
-
Money comes first, because it's a tool
-
With it, we can live, and in time, we can work toward our dreams. And without the ability to stand on our feet or money, it's hard to achieve our dream.
-
Consistency and positive thinking alone aren't enough to help us work in a field we love
-
We need a strong foundation first
-
And the dreams come after survival. That's my opinion
-
And beyond all of that, if we never feel satisfied, nothing will ever be enough
-
Let's say we dream of becoming a writer, and we succeed. That's amazing
-
Because we've found something that's both our dream and our source of income
-
But one day, we might feel empty because we have no next goal
-
To live a full life, we need purpose
-
Once we achieve that purpose, we need another one to fill the void of no goals
-
That's how it goes
-
Empty--fulfilled--empty again. It's a cycle
-
If we never feel satisfied, we'll keep chasing one dream after another,
-
one ambition after another. Without ever feeling truly calm
-
But if we already have a goal and we feel content with what we have--with our goal and a hobby we enjoy day by day--maybe that's more stable way to live
-
More peaceful. More secure
-
Even though ambition and dreams are beautiful, if we don't pair them with contentment, we may never find peace
-
So, my point is, choosing between passion and survival depends on each person,
-
but for me, I think build a strong foundation first and reach your dreams afterward
-
Ok, that's all
-
Have a good day
