পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর জেলার কোলাঘাটের দেনান গ্রামে গ্রামবাসীরা হারিয়ে যেতে বসা প্রাচীন মৃৎশিল্পকে আধুনিক প্রযুক্তির সহায়তায় পুনরুজ্জীবিত করছেন। আগে যেখানে হাতে ঘোরানো ‘চাক’-এর মাধ্যমে কষ্টসাধ্যভাবে মাটির সামগ্রী তৈরি হতো, এখন সেখানে ব্যবহার হচ্ছে মোটরচালিত মেশিন, যা শিল্পীদের কাজকে সহজ ও দ্রুততর করেছে। এই পরিবর্তন শুধু কাজের গতি বাড়ায়নি, বরং মৃৎশিল্পে লাভজনকতাও ফিরিয়ে এনেছে। এর ফলে নতুন প্রজন্মের মধ্যে আবারও এই ঐতিহ্যবাহী শিল্পের প্রতি আগ্রহ তৈরি হয়েছে এবং অনেকেই নিজেদের পূর্বপুরুষের এই পেশাকে সম্মান ও গর্বের সঙ্গে গ্রহণ করছেন।

In Denan village of Kolaghat, Purba Medinipur, villagers are reviving the endangered traditional craft of pottery by embracing modern methods. Instead of the age-old hand-spun wheel, artisans are now using motor-powered machines to shape clay products. This technological shift has not only made the process faster and more efficient but also brought profitability back into the craft. As a result, the younger generation is once again taking pride in their ancestral heritage and contributing to preserving this timeless art form.
