Comic book lettering, just like any part of the comic making process, is an art form. However, there are some really simple rules that can help make them easier to read and look more professional.
The video says top 5 comic lettering rules, but that's just because it is a snappier title. Think of them as guidelines. These are the first 5 things I notice when I read other comics, so maybe even pet peeves would be appropriate. Do you have any of your own lettering pet peeves?
These are my tips for lettering, if you do something different, that's cool. However, I will say that these are standards for a reason and really help with readability.
What software are you using for your lettering? I do all mine in Photoshop, but would like to give ClipStudio a serious test drive.
