    -Updates-
  • 0:06 - 0:10
Thanks for your participation so far
in the Safe and Secure training.
  • 0:10 - 0:11
    Before we conclude,
  • 0:11 - 0:15
I wanted to take a few moments
to call out some very significant topics
  • 0:15 - 0:19
that pertain to our prevention strategies
and give a few important updates.
  • 0:19 - 0:22
    These areas are ones
    that are utilized frequently
  • 0:22 - 0:24
    and where we often
    get the most questions.
  • 0:24 - 0:26
    I'm thankful for the questions
  • 0:26 - 0:29
because that means we are working
    to put into practice
  • 0:29 - 0:32
    prevention methods that can lower
the risk of harm to our children.
  • 0:33 - 0:37
First, I want to call your attention to Go
Method in our screening for volunteers.
  • 0:37 - 0:41
We've been using Go Method to assess
all our volunteers for over two years now.
  • 0:42 - 0:45
It's been a great tool to help us
have eyes on the vetting process
  • 0:45 - 0:49
for people we send to work alongside
    of our personnel and partners.
  • 0:49 - 0:52
    We have seen valuable results
    with Go Method.
  • 0:52 - 0:56
This tool has alerted us to individuals
that posed a risk to our children
  • 0:56 - 0:57
    and, in some cases adults,
  • 0:57 - 1:00
    and we were able
    to prevent unnecessary risks
  • 1:00 - 1:02
    by having that vital information.
  • 1:02 - 1:06
Also, as reported from the field
    in workers and volunteers,
  • 1:06 - 1:09
    there has been great progress
in the streamlining of Go Method,
  • 1:09 - 1:13
and our commitment is to continue
to make that tool even more user-friendly.
  • 1:13 - 1:16
    If you have questions
or need help using Go Method,
  • 1:16 - 1:20
    please continue to reach out
    via email to info@msnpath.com.
  • 1:21 - 1:25
And one update to Go Method
is that we are working on a better process
  • 1:25 - 1:29
    for vetting non-U.S. citizen
    or non-English proficient volunteers.
  • 1:29 - 1:33
    This would cover those volunteers
who are unable to go through Go Method
  • 1:33 - 1:35
    due to not being able
    to have a background check
  • 1:35 - 1:37
or are not proficient in English,
  • 1:37 - 1:40
    making the process difficult
    to read, respond, and understand.
  • 1:41 - 1:42
We know this is a need,
  • 1:42 - 1:46
so please be looking for information
    on the Intranet and Connections+
  • 1:46 - 1:49
    regarding the process
we will use for those individuals.
  • 1:49 - 1:55
Again, if you have questions on this
    process, email info@msnpath.com.
  • 1:55 - 1:58
    Another incredible step
in raising the bar in prevention
  • 1:58 - 2:00
is the desire from field personnel
  • 2:00 - 2:04
to use our Safe and Secure training
to train nationals on child safety.
  • 2:05 - 2:08
These individuals may not be direct
    partners with our organization,
  • 2:08 - 2:12
    but individuals who work closely
    with our personnel and platforms,
  • 2:12 - 2:15
    churches, and other work
    or ministry functions.
  • 2:15 - 2:17
    Field personnel
    are seeing the benefit
  • 2:17 - 2:20
    from having those individuals
    trained in child safety.
  • 2:20 - 2:22
And this may be a new concept
    for the national.
  • 2:22 - 2:26
We are working at making our Safe
    and Secure volunteer training available
  • 2:26 - 2:28
    in several different languages
    and unbranded
  • 2:28 - 2:31
    so that field personnel
    can share the training
  • 2:31 - 2:34
    with those working closely
with them in work and ministries.
  • 2:35 - 2:38
    Child safety training is spreading,
    and this is great news.
  • 2:38 - 2:41
    Education is key to prevention.
  • 2:41 - 2:44
    Having our trainings and
our vetting process have a further reach
  • 2:44 - 2:46
    can only strengthen
    our opportunity
  • 2:46 - 2:50
to provide a safe and secure environment
for our children and the ones we serve.
  • 2:51 - 2:55
And another area that is fairly
new is the TCK Guidelines for Events.
  • 2:55 - 2:57
    Those can be found now
    on the Intranet
  • 2:57 - 3:01
    by searching "TCK Meeting
    and Event Guidelines."
  • 3:01 - 3:04
    The guidelines
    map out practical prevention methods
  • 3:04 - 3:08
to put into place when hosting a meeting,
    training, or a TCK event.
  • 3:08 - 3:13
They cover topics like proper supervision,
    rooming guidelines, and more.
  • 3:13 - 3:16
Please make sure that if you are planning
an event where TCKs will be present
  • 3:16 - 3:18
that you refer to those guidelines
  • 3:18 - 3:22
for ensuring you are preparing well
in the area of child safety.
  • 3:22 - 3:24
    The goal for these guidelines
  • 3:24 - 3:27
    is to reduce the opportunity
of risk of harm to our children.
  • 3:27 - 3:29
    If you have questions about
  • 3:29 - 3:31
    how to implement these guidelines
    into your event,
  • 3:31 - 3:35
    first, contact your leadership
to talk through the questions you have.
  • 3:35 - 3:37
And then, if you still need
    help, contact me, the PARA.
  • 3:38 - 3:42
Again, thank you for all that
you do to help keep our children safe.
  • 3:42 - 3:45
I understand that using Go Method,
    Safe and Secure training,
  • 3:45 - 3:47
    and the event guidelines
  • 3:47 - 3:51
    can add time and effort
to your already extremely busy schedules.
  • 3:51 - 3:55
I also know that if we can prevent one
    child from experiencing abuse
  • 3:55 - 3:58
that could result in lifelong mental
    and emotional effects,
  • 3:58 - 4:01
the extra time and effort was worth it.
  • 4:01 - 4:05
    I truly appreciate your efforts,
and I'm always here to help you.
