where people said they never derail him

from his focus in God when you look at

the life of the apostles of old it

wasn't easy for them they face acts

8:9 terrible persecutions but they

stayed in faith

unwavering Jesus you know next week we

are celebrating Easter

right we should not forget that Easter

was a moment of suffering uffering where

Jesus willingly chose the way of

suffering of the cross not for himself

but for you and

I It wasn't man's way It was God's way

That's the way God's wisdom brought

salvation on the earth to be redeemed

from our past so we can walk in newness

of life in a new covenant of God's grace

The question

is why today when you look all around

the world you see many faith are in

crisis

You see people the faith is no longer

strong Some say ah I'm losing my faith

My faith is challenged and lot of

complain we have about situations lot of

discouragement We can see that people

the fire is no longer there People are

lukewarm They they don't pray But this

is time to be stronger than ever before

What's the cause of that That's the

purpose of this program today And the

purpose of the app as well And the

purpose of the app is to walk on a daily

basis to know how to tackle every

situation of your life because life is

all about

relationship Relationship with God but

relationship in the

community It starts husband and wife

your marriage your parents your friends

your work It's all about relationship

It's all about communication The

question how do we relate with people

How do we relate in our business place

in our working place reflecting Christ

character in us in a victorious way

That's the purpose of this

app That's to grow

spiritually Remember what we said at the

first program that God create you and I

we all know it now Spirit

Soul and body You all know the body We

we become imbrio in our mother's womb

But see how big we are today Function of

time We never do anything We grow as the

tree is growing By the function of time

as time grows

on in our soul in our intellect We grow

by what we learn We learn at school

primary school secondary school Some go

to university You learn in the community

Life is a learning

experience But what about our

spirit How do we grow in the spirit We

grow physically We grow intellectually

by what we learn But how do we grow

physically The only way we can grow

spiritually is by obedience to God

Obedience to God's word That's the only

way Now that's why we are here today

you to practice the presence of God in

your daily basis in a practical way

because you know as well it's also so

in what God directs us to say to you So

today is actually how can we be renewed

in our

mind Many of us we live our life as if

we're not living a a victorious life

What do I mean We we we we say we're

Christians We say we believe in Jesus

but we seem to be so consumed with the

natural circumstances around us

that things like fear worry anxiety

control us on a daily basis That is

because we have to renew our mind each

day I want to take us to Romans Romans

12:2 And do not be conformed to this

world but be transformed by the renewing

of your mind that you may prove what is

that good and acceptable and perfect

will of God So why are we talking about

this Because all of us want to know

God's will for our life All of us want

to know how do I know what God wants me

to do on a daily basis How can the Holy

Spirit speak to me And the Holy Spirit

can only speak to you when your mind is

renewed because the Holy Spirit never

bypasses the mind The Holy Spirit speaks

to our mind That's right Speaks to our

heart We learned about the spirit soul

and body last week and I'm sure we'll go

into that again today But we can't

ignore the mind The mind must be renewed

in order to be renewed like our spirit

is renewed When we read the word of God

our spirit is refreshed Our mind is

renewed Remember when we accept Jesus as

our Lord and Savior our spirit is born

again but we need to make sure our mind

is renewed daily And that is why we're

here at the University of God That is

why we're here to seek the spirit of God

We're all students I want to add

something to what she says because we

are getting to the heart of the matter

And I just took my Bible in the book of

Exodus chapter 16 Yesterday you know we

are in a time of prayer and meditation

preparing for the Easter to come It's a

time of sober reflection for every

Christian My mind was

struck by the behavior of the people of

Israel in the

wilderness They have seen the mightiness

of God in the land of Egypt when they

saw how

God did signs and wonders miraculous

signs and wonders to set them free They

have seen the Red Sea opened by God They

have seen the pillar of cloud by day

which was representing the presence of

the angel and they saw the pillar of

fire by night the living presence of God

they saw it

physically But after they left the land

of bondage of

servitude God took them in the journey

in the wilderness for a

purpose What was the purpose We realize

that it does not take long for God to

set us free from trouble one second

But it take years a lifetime for God to

change our behavior our character and to

change our mind

Let me read Exodus chapter 16 verse two

The whole congregation of the children

of Israel complained against Moses and

Aaron in the wilderness

Three The children of Israel said to

them "Oh that we had died by the hand of

the Lord in the land of

Egypt when we sat by the pots of meat

and when we ate bread to the fool for

you have brought us out into the

wilderness to kill this assembly with

hunger." That's a complain I asked

myself why they complain We realize that

the Bible says what happened to them at

that time is a lesson to all of us here

There is a

parallel between the way God rescued

them in Egypt God took them to the

wilderness and the way we experience God

when we are

saved in the Easter night In one night

God stroke all the firstborn of Egypt to

the animals and Pharaoh was shocked and

they sent them away immediately They

released him and they were free from 430

years of bondage and they and they were

free They're supposed to be happy They

saw the goodness of God the greatness of

God in their lives And what happened in

the wilderness God put them to the test

God allowed them to go through the

wilderness for a purpose When you read

your Bible the Bible says God could have

make them pass by the way of the

Philistine which is shorter But God say

no because they will see war If they see

war they will be afraid and they will

run back to Egypt Does it mean God is

not great enough to take them

there That means

simply once we are saved once Jesus

comes into our heart we have the Holy

Spirit Our spirit is free indeed We have

a new conscience We have a new heart set

free and much more We have the presence

of the Holy Spirit abiding in our hearts

Ephesians 3:13 says "Christ dwells in

our heart through faith." So God is with

me So now the question

is we are made right with God in our

spirit That's part that is new We are a

new creation a new heart a new spirit

But this

body this soul this old man is still

there M so there is a conflict between

this old man and a conflict between the

one that is new inside of

me What does it mean This means my the

way I'm I was educated my family

background my culture my tradition and

the lessons I of life my education all

these frame my intellectually So I grow

physically but I grow intellectually

mentally by the lesson for my culture

from universe that form me me talking my

decision my action in the natural but

that does not fit the way of God because

God's ways are not our ways his thoughts

are not our thoughts Isaiah 55 from

verse 1

to8 so now we have Christ in

us what about our relationship in our

family in your marriage in your friends

in your community in your work Where is

Jesus The problem we have is that we

lack consciousness of God's presence in

those

areas Salvation is not just basically a

spiritual rebirth It has to affect my

soul my mind my body and my character

Every area of our life every areas of my

life M now when you see in the book of

act chapter 2 the first disciples of

Jesus after the outpouring of the Holy

Spirit they went they sold their

businesses stop everything their houses

and were living in community why they

were serving God with all their

lives spirit soul and body

why because Christianity is a lifestyle

they serve God not just in spirit by

going to

But in their daily living all their

lives were serving God That's why they

call them disciples of Christ mean they

embrace Christ lifestyle to think like

Jesus to speak like Jesus to act like

Jesus and to manifest Christ likeness in

their community in their relationship in

a physical form right into the world

where we are And it's impossible to do

that without the help of the Holy Spirit

Impossible Why it is impossible Because

man's way are not God's way The way I I

where I come from okay I'm from Africa

you're from UK right We have a lot of

differences It is natural It is normal

to have differences in life But what

makes us one is Christ philosophy What

makes us one is faith I'm talking to

people all all over the world We have

different upbringing but what makes us

born today is Jesus

That reminds me of what Prophet TB

Joshua said when we were disciples He

said "You're not here for any culture

African culture Nigerian culture We're

all here for Christ culture." And that

is what we're here for to learn how to

be like Jesus And it was such an amazing

opportunity to be with people from so

many different backgrounds and so many

different cultures and upbringings but

at the same time our purpose was to

embrace Christ culture And I think the

temptation many many people face today

is to reduce Christianity to a to a code

of ethics Oh to be a good person or to

have some moral value in certain ways

But actually it's to be like Jesus And

we can't remove the Holy Spirit from

that because Jesus promised us the Holy

Spirit would be the comforter to be with

us forever can't obey the written word

or do what Jesus commands us to

do fleshly humanly without the help of

the Holy Spirit We cannot be a disciple

of Jesus without the help of the Holy

Spirit This coming now why God gave us

his spirit We have to repeat and go back

to the

foundation We are too conditioned to

limit the Holy Ghost only to power

healing power prophetic power the gift

of the spirit

But the major theme the major purpose

God Almighty gave you and I his spirit

is to make us sons and daughters of God

And the purpose of the Holy Spirit in

our heart is to develop righteousness

godly character

The fruit of the

spirit

means I don't need to say I'm a

Christian

Let the goodness of God be evident be

seen in the way I speak in the way I

talk in the way I relate with people

People should see something different in

you even in your working place People

should see your kindness the way you

approach things the wisdom of God That's

what God want in your life So how is it

now We are so conditioned to think that

God holy spirit is not only is only for

power for for healing power No it's for

godly character He's our helper That's

why Jesus gave us his spirit

Christianity

is a lifestyle

Faith is a lifestyle of trusting in God

Faith cannot take a day

off A break in faith is a break in

Christ

God want to be with me He want to be

with you every single day But sometime

we hold his hands ourselves

When God led them into the wilderness

God wanted to show them how faithful he

is No man would take you in the

wilderness But God is

sufficient He knew he was able to care

for them to protect them to give them

mana to make water to come from a rock

Exodus 17 If God is able to be with you

in the wilderness how much more when you

are in the town

what God wanted to do is to take them to

a process to discipline

them so they can their mind their way of

thinking will change Their way of

talking will change What is thinking and

and words That is faith

We believe and we speak the word of

faith all the time But faith does not

just happen It is built How can faith

grow We need to grow spiritually We grow

spiritually when we hear and obey God

That's what God wanted That's why in

Deuteronomy 8 verse 1 to2 1 1-4 God say

I make them pass by the wilderness and I

cause you to suffer hunger and thirst to

teach you that man shall not live by

bread alone but every word that comes

from the mouth of the Lord And that is

where the issue is number one for them

And for us today Exodus chapter 15 verse

26 hear what God

says If you diligently heed the voice of

the Lord your God and do what is right

oh my Lord that is the key And do what

is right that means act on the word

This is the problem we have today Yeah

If you diligently heed the voice of the

Lord and do what is right in his

sight This is where the issue is in our

spirit in our conscious We hear the

inner voice of God telling us do this do

that inspiration come But when the mind

is not renewed no it's me it's not God

We refuse to act on it We refuse to act

on it Suggestion is coming intuition is

coming from the Holy Spirit who dwells

in our

heart because they were having the

pillar of cloud We have more than the

pillar of cloud of the Israelite We have

holy spirit in our heart

The spirit of God will tell you wake up

and pray in the night This body

know the Holy Ghost will shake you into

positive action but we resist because

our mind is not renewed We think it is

us It's our own mind It's our own body

That's why we resist

No If God's power can set them free in

one

night God it took 40 years in the

wilderness for God to change their mind

and character

and many of them refuse to believe and

fall into the

wilderness We have the spirit of Jesus

in our

heart But why it is why do we find

people complaining today Because our

mind is not renewed Because our mind is

not renewed We continue like Jesus

rebuked Peter to think like man think to

speak in the old way in the old nature

The Bible say when you are saved never

you think speak or act on the level of

the old life Write that down The minute

you are saved that you receive salvation

from Jesus Never think or talk or act on

the level of your old life That is

that's where the problem is Change your

thoughts and change your words Change

your thought and change your words

Now if I speak in the old nature myself

is talking Ah you I will deal with you I

would do this It's the first talking is

flesh is talking That's why prophet gave

us a prayer Holy spirit take more of me

Give me more of

you when I'm too much of myself

I the one talking It's the soul myself

my mind my will my decision my emotion

is talking

And we air away from God's way And the

flesh will lead us and we begin to act

out of character The question is why our

mind is so disturbed by the things we

see we hear And that is the issue When

God led them in the wilderness they were

thirsty God did it on purpose

Instead of praying God give us water

they

complained Instead of praying to God you

complain to

man God is faithful He knows your

need So in the wilderness anytime they

face situations on the outside they

begin to murmur They want you to stone

mothers to death because of natural

circumstances of life

Today when we are born again we have a

new spirit We have a new soul We have

the Holy Spirit dwelling in us But now

why it is difficult to change my mind

Because my willingness is required by

God Thank you That's the difficulty God

is

finding God demands your faith Uncomp

uncompromising demand for faith That's

how it the uncompromising demand for

faith What they say God wants your

willingness

That's the greatest role you can play If

you are willing to get out of your

problem if you're willing to change your

life if you're willing to really meet

Jesus then the half the job is half done

because Jesus is always willing to meet

you to change you to get you out of your

problem But you have to be willing first

Remember the people that Jesus met where

he asked them "Do you want to get well

Do you want to be free?" Because Jesus

had the power to be able to set them

free immediately but he wanted to hear

their willingness not just from their

mouth but from their heart Remember it's

a heart that Jesus hears Is your heart

willing this morning Is your heart

willing today to get out of your old

life and start living how Jesus wants

you to live Because if your heart is

willing then the job is half done Yes

50% of the battle 50% of the victory We

need to learn the ways of God

Knowing God is not only to see miracles

signs and wonders but to learn his ways

The book of Psalm

103:7 says "God showed his deeds to the

children of Israel

but he showed his ways to

Moses." And that was the big difference

Moses knew the way of the Lord but the

people did not know the way of God

despite all the miracle they saw

When situation happens if you follow the

narrow way of Jesus you will not act on

the situation you will inquire from God

to know Lord what is your mind What is

God's mind on this matter

Isaiah Ruth can you read Isaiah 55 verse

8 We need to learn the way of the Holy

Spirit God has given us the Holy Spirit

We need to develop our relationship with

him We need to cooperate with him

because he wants our

willingness Holy Spirit works with us in

cooperation

Means my will must submit to God's will

before the power of the Holy Ghost is

manifested I

repeat my will your will must submit to

God's will before the power of God can

be manifested to change your

circumstances Let's read Mhm For my

thoughts are not your thoughts nor are

your ways my ways says the Lord For as

the heavens are higher than the earth so

my ways higher than your ways are my

thoughts than your thoughts God say his

thoughts are higher than our thoughts M

when I have thoughts of discouragement

the end has come God say the end has not

come It's just the beginning You say "Oh

it's it's terrible We can't do this We

can't because of your thoughts." God say

"Yes you can do it." That's why he said

to everybody in Jeremiah

29:11 "The thoughts that I have for you

is to prosper you not to harm you to

give you a hope and a future."

Absolutely We need to know the divine

person of the Holy Spirit leading us

When we say disciple we are disciples of

the Holy Spirit

He is the shepherd that leads us today

Jesus said "My sheep shall hear my

voice." John chapter 10 27 Jesus does in

my heart through the person of the Holy

Spirit We should be able to hear the

voice of the Holy Spirit in our heart

We it is time to learn to distinguish

how he speaks to us Whether in thoughts

intimation suggestion or words or dreams

We need to know How do we know It is

possible to know The only way to know is

to yield your heart to

him What do I mean by that That's why

meditation

When trouble come situation come after

you pray go to the secret place of your

heart and begin to meditate

ask the Holy Spirit to help you Ask God

to open the eyes of your faith Begin to

look for him Seek him in your heart

diligently

and then the way he answers you he will

give you a thought can come to your

conscious to your mind if your conscious

is alert Okay Now let me come back to

conditioned to think God is not

relationship with God Is this our

relationship with man This is

responsibility towards God in the

spirit and this is in the

natural in the world this side And this

now we have a separation between the two

This is this side is your spiritual side

Your spirit and your soul This part is

your

body Now the question is here is the

trouble we face We always separate in

our mind in our in this thinking You

think that God is not concerned about

this It's a big

mistake God is concerned about this This

here is your belief in God You believe

in God This is your conscience This is

the spirit of God Holy Spirit speak to

you revelation So when you are praying

because you have situation

here when you pray in your heart without

making any noise something will prompt

your mind here your conscience This is

conscience This is where the will of God

is This is where the mind of God is This

is where solution comes But if you look

at the natural we forget this

So what did God did to help them in the

wilderness God allow the physical

presence of the cloud to give them focus

in God When they look at the cloud ah

God is here Oh not afraid In the night

they saw the light God is here in our

midst So they were looking visibly at

the presence of God So they would not be

afraid They focus with that But today as

Christian we can't do that anymore We

have the Holy Spirit here in our heart

We have our conscious with the

communication point contact point We

have to learn to listen to the inner

voice here in our

heart Now here this section now is where

we have

problem

physically our soul This is our mind

This is our decision This is our

will Our emotions Everything is

here emotions And this one is influenced

by this one

When they were in the wilderness they

were

thirsty and their mind begin to think

wrongly Anytime your mind here think

negatively you are out of faith Anytime

your mind think negatively based on

circumstances you get out of faith Why

Because you begin to doubt the goodness

of God here Whatever God says here this

one contradict it Anytime something good

come from your conscious revelation

something contrary come to your mind to

say no that's why Satan did if God say

oh go to America a voice say no don't go

it's you go say do this a voice say no

is it from God contradiction so there's

a battle between revelation here and

sense knowledge here which one do you

follow we have this is our trouble this

is our greatest enemy

The mind the mind and the thinking

My god we exercise our will through our

mind This mind is the one that controls

our body through the

brain Okay we talk We saw an advert Very

with me People are watching you When you

woke up in the morning what is the first

thing you do When you woke up in the

morning and you are bed what is the

first thing you do or you thought

about tomorrow Monday when you woke up

in the morning the first thing you do

the clock the

watch I'm going to my job I take

breakfast I took my shower Am I right

The baby awake I dress up I run to my to

my vehicle or catch the transport to go

to work And I arrive Hey Hi You greet

your colleague sit on your desk and

begin to work begin to work begin to

work begin to work When work finish back

home when they come home you eat you do

go to bed routine

And did you involve God in any of those

actions all this is this activity this

one where is God in all those activities

Is it possible to involve God in all his

activities If you are a Christian the

first thing you do when you woke up in

the morning thank you Jesus Before you

say thank you listen to this one Your

conscious don't open your eyes Close

your eyes and ask God to remember you

the dream you receive Because when

immediately your eyes open you forget

everything in your heart

You pray in your spirit in your heart

before you get out of the bed to

remember your dreams to remember the

message God put in deep inside of you in

your heart Holy Spirit speaks to us in

the dream in the night by visions by

different

ways Then before you get out of the bed

you begin to pray to give thanks to God

for the day You begin to pray for

guidance because nobody know what

happens tomorrow People are answering

breakfast job trouble The first thing is

my phone Thank you I thank you for your

honesty God bless you Thank you for your

honesty I God bless you The first thing

phone before go to bed Phone Wake up

Phone Now how do you want your mind to

be renewed If our mind is dominated

controlled by the things on the outside

how do I want my mind to be to change

If I if by if I think negatively I could

never perceive the voice of God in my I

stifle it M so what I do I need to

capture my thought in the morning the

first thing I do meditation to remember

my dream pray to God meditate on God's

word get out of my bed when I enter my

my b shower I I'm singing to God in my

heart when I take my breakfast first

thing if I eat thank you Lord for the

food thank you for the provision I'm

thanking God when I dress up to go to

work to get in my car before I enter my

car I

pray you have no control over accident I

pray God for guidance for protection and

give thanks to God While I'm driving I

keep meditating listen to wisdom and

meditate as I'm driving to go to my work

I'm going with God When I come I greet

my colleague I give everybody I s I ask

God to give me wisdom how to handle

situation my job mean in my heart When

I'm talking to people in the natural

this one is another channel in your

spirit Nobody knows you are praying

Whatever task you face in your office do

you pray Do you pray for your boss in

your heart Do you pray for the company

Do you pray for God to give you wisdom

How to handle this meeting How to handle

your decision Because you are the

manager how to handle human being You

pray When you pray you involve God and

you'll be surprised to see what God will

do

You can see you can involve God in every

section of your life That's what renew

your mind You have an effort to pay Your

willingness is there You have to

practice the presence of God in a

practical way deep inside of you in your

heart the consciousness of God the

presence of God Anywhere you

go if you do that your mind will never

be disconnected from the things of God

If my heart by meditating and my mind

are soaked with the word of God I will

speak the word of word of life here I

will speak right and act right because I

think right That's why the first thought

in the morning and the last one before

you sleep is so important because we're

going on a journey and we're coming from

God says There is a mystery of speaking

cut it off What does it mean If you're

looking something encourage your faith

negative thought stop watching it That's

what it means If you're doing something

there's no good for you Stop it

If you if you're weak you got some when

your faith is weak That's what happened

to them in the wilderness because their

faith was weak They were learning to get

faith That's why they they were

murmuring every day But if you are

strong in the faith you will not murmur

You will stay put get used to the

situation and walk victoriously because
