This is one of the earliest recordings of Papaji giving satsang between 1990-91 in his house in Lucknow. In this discourse Papaji speaks about the arising of the 'I' and self-enquiry.
Papaji: "When consciousness reflects within the consciousness, it will shine as consciousness itself. There arises the notion, 'I am' which instantly creates this manifestation. Consciousness is reflecting, is on the objects that it has created with the notion 'I am.' This consciousness, which has no name and no form, is not disturbed. Actually nothing is out of Consciousness. Nothing is out of Absoluteness. Once you rid yourself of this notion of separation you are free here and now. Return at the source of 'I Am'. When you look at consciousness onto the consciousness, it shines only as consciousness and nothing else. Much subtle is your force from where emerges this 'I' and then the manifestation into this 'I.' From nothingness. How can you see your Self unless you have a concept of emptiness?"
