-
Hello~ I don't know why but I feel SO energetic today
-
Like, I did not even drink coffee but I feel so energetic
-
I've been a homebody the last two days
-
and I think right now my social battery has kind of recharged
-
and I'm feeling like good
-
But at the same time, I also just want to stay inside
-
I finished all my work meetings for the day and I think I'm just gonna chill
-
I don't have plans this whole week and I feel like I should make plans at some point
-
Otherwise, I know myself and I'm going to stay inside if I don't have any plans
-
Okay! But we'll worry about that later
-
Let's try to get some things done
-
Hello! So, I've just finished eating dinner and it's currently 9:00 p.m
-
and I really want to do my nails
-
I honestly feel so gross
-
Like, they have grown out so much
-
I don't know
-
Whenever my nails feel gross, I feel gross
-
And, I hate that feeling
-
So, I'm going to try to get them done as fast as I can
-
My goal is to sleep before 1 am
-
So, let's see if that happens
-
Hello~ So, I just finished all my work for today
-
And, I'm about to go and get dinner with one of my girlfriends
-
We're going to have a little girl's date and go get omakase
-
And, I'm SO excited
-
Like, New York genuinely has so many omakase spots
-
And, ever since I moved here I feel like I've been to more in the past 4 months than I have in my entire life
-
I'm obsessed right now
-
So, I'm really excited to go grab dinner with her
-
I finished doing my hair and my makeup and all I have left is to put on my jewelry
-
And so, I really wanted to say:
-
Thank you to Linjer for sponsoring today's video
-
If you've never heard of Linjer before,
-
they are a sustainable and hypoallergenic jewelry brand
-
that offers high-quality and long-lasting jewelry pieces at a fair price
-
They have so many beautiful and timeless pieces
-
and offer so many minimalistic designs through their selection of rings, bracelets, necklaces, and more
-
They are a sustainable brand that uses 100% recycled materials, ethically sourced gemstones, and conflict-free lab grown diamonds
-
All their products are made to last so they only use fine metals such as sterling silver, solid gold, or gold vermeil
-
which is sterling silver plated with 22k gold that's 5x thicker than regular plated gold jewelry
-
And moreover, all their packaging is made with recycled and sustainable materials
-
So, with each shipment they're able to offset their carbon emissions
-
As someone who really loves to wear jewelry, I try to invest in high-quality pieces and avoid fast fashion jewelry as much as I can
-
And not only that, but I also really care about the brands of which I'm supporting
-
And so, the fact that Linjer is a sustainable company
-
whose goal is to empower individuals through high-quality pieces at a fair price
-
is something that I really appreciate and can support
-
Lately, I've been wearing their pieces a lot more
-
and some of my current favorite pieces are:
-
1) I've been wanting a tennis bracelet for so long
-
And, I get so many compliments on this
-
As well as the rings
-
I am a big BIG ring person, if you guys did not know
-
I always love to switch up my rings
-
Change my rings
-
These are some of my personal favorites right now
-
I've been wanting a knuckle/mid-ring for the longest time
-
And, I think this is so stunning
-
This here is their white topaz silver ring
-
and I got in a size four
-
and it's just so pretty
-
Here I've stacked their blue topaz ring as well as their open leaf ring
-
and they're so stunning
-
All these jewelry pieces are pieces that I wear almost every single day now
-
And, I love to either wear them on their own
-
or stack them with some of my other jewelry favorites
-
that I've been wearing for a long time
-
And, I get so many compliments on these
-
I love how simple and minimalistic their designs are
-
as well as how dainty they are
-
They just look so pretty
-
And, on top of that, they look the exact same from when I first got them to now
-
And I've been wearing them so much
-
So, I am actually obsessed with these
-
If you guys are interested in any of these pieces
-

you can go to the link in my description box for more information
-

-

-
I'm ready now to go out to my girl's date
-
Super excited and I will see you guys there!
-
I just got a call from my Amazon delivery driver
-
that my groceries just have been delivered
-
It's 6:00 in the morning right now
-
I literally don't know the last time I woke up this early
-
and I kind of just want to leave my groceries there but I know I shouldn't
-
So, I need to get up
-
but I'm so tired
-
It's okay
-
We'll get up
-
Get my groceries
-
Recently I've been really into meal prepping
-
Like, as a part of my whole trying to be healthier, creating healthier habits, and everything
-
I've been trying to eat healthier too
-
Because when I first moved here, I was eating out like every single day
-
It was fun but I gained a lot of weight
-
and we're trying to get summer beach bod ready right now
-
So, I've been trying to eat more at home
-
Meal prepping more
-
One of the things I've been kind of obsessed with lately is just cauliflower rice
-
So, right now I'm meal prepping some of that
-
Like, there's so many things where it's genuinely so easy to make at home
-
and you don't need to go out to buy it
-
Cauliflower rice is one of those things
-
and I like to just make it and then freeze it
-
And then, whenever I want to eat some cauliflower rice,
-
I just toss it in the microwave and everything's all good!
-
Part of creating healthier habits is eating healthier
-
And I'm trying to eat less inflammatory foods,
-
more home-cooked meals,
-
and higher protein
-
which I didn't realize that I just wasn't getting enough protein
-
until I started paying attention to my protein intake
-
And then, I was like "Oh."
-
"I need to eat more protein."
-
I think it's so important especially when you're younger to start building healthy habits
-
Like, working out regularly, eating healthier
-
So that, 1) you have those habits set in place earlier in your life
-
and 2) it makes it a lot easier when you're older so you don't have to change your lifestyle dramatically or anything
-
Hello~ so I just finished with my work meetings for the day
-
and I am gonna go get ready to go to a cafe
-
and then later I'm going to grab dinner with one of my friends
-
One of the biggest pieces of advice that I got when I first moved to New York was:
-
To be careful about who you decide to make your friends
-
Every time I asked for advice, this was the number one piece that I got
-
Before, I just understood it as general life advice, right?
-
No matter what city you're in
-
No matter what stage you are in your life
-
You should be careful with the people that you surround yourself with
-
But, in the context of living in a big city like New York
-
It's completely different
-
Because you're in such a big city, you're bound to meet so many people
-
who have different personalities, different values, different morals, and different life experiences than you
-
They might not necessarily be bad people
-
But, it might just not be the healthiest relationship or friendship that you would want for yourself
-
But, it might be fun
-
And that's where I think the problem is
-
When you're young and you're in a big city and you're meeting so many new people,
-
it's fun and all these people might be fun
-
Going out is fun
-
Doing stupid things is fun
-
And you might even know it:
-
That there are things that you're doing that might not be the healthiest for you, but it's fun.
-
It's so easy to surround yourself with the wrong people,
-
build the wrong habits,
-
and spend your time doing things that just aren't productive or healthy for you
-
Another thing that I heard a lot when I first moved here was:
-
A lot of people would tell me:
-
"Mia, I wonder what kind of person you'll be in a year from now."
-
Back then, I was honestly confused every time I heard that because
-
I felt like the Mia of 2024 was not all that different from the Mia of 2023
-
But, now that I've been here for four months,
-
I can confidently say that I feel so different than the person that I was four months ago from now
-
I've learned so many things
-
Experienced so many things that I would not have experienced had I stayed in my hometown
-
And, I think it's because when you move to a big city, it really tests your character, your values, and your self-esteem
-
You're no longer held back by certain beliefs that people had about you or people who have known you for 10+ years
-
But the thing is that's like a double-edged sword
-
You can be whoever you want to be
-
But, at the same time, you don't have the people around you who truly have been there for you for everything
-
and truly want the best for you
-
And so, it's really easy to fall into temptation and be influenced by the wrong people
-
And, at that point, you genuinely really only have yourself to rely on and fully trust
-
I'm rambling a lot right now
-
But, I think my point in all of this is that
-
Now that I've lived here longer, I'm trying to be more conscientious
-
of the people that I'm spending time with and giving my energy to
-
And, I'm really just starting to enjoy the comfort of my own company
-
And, being alone because
-
1) It really helps me stay grounded to the kind of person that I am
-
and I want to become and reflect on the goals that I want for the future
-
and if the decisions that I'm making now will help that or not
-
But, it also really helps me reflect on the relationships that I'm building
-
and the people that I'm spending time around
-
because I fully 100% believe you are the sum of the top five people that you spend your time with
-
You are who you spend time around
-
Anyways, that was such a ramble and I need to do my makeup
-
So, let's focus on that and then head out to the cafe!
-
Currently on my way to dinner plans
-
It's kind of chilly today
-
Good morning~
-
I need to start getting more vitamin D
-
I keep being like cooped up in my place
-
Being a homebody
-
And so, now dragging myself out to go to a cafe
-
By forcing myself to go to a cafe not only am I SO much more productive
-
But, I'm actually exploring the city that I moved here to be at
-
So! Let's try to get a lot of work done today
-
because I need to be productive
-
Hello~
-
So, I just finished getting off of a FaceTime call with my parents
-
To be honest, I think in the past week I've probably FaceTimed my parents like four times
-
because... I think I'm starting to get homesick
-
I've been knowing I was starting to get homesick a couple weeks back
-
when I was just craving Vietnamese food
-
I was just constantly looking up restaurants and then trying recipes out
-
I even asked my parents to start shipping me food over because I just missed it so much
-
And now, I've been like calling my parents like every 2-3 days
-
It's not necessarily that I want to move back home
-
But, I think in some ways the novelty of having moved somewhere new is starting to finally wear off
-
When I first moved here, I was doing the absolute most
-
Like, I was going out every single day
-
Trying new restaurants
-
Exploring new cities
-
Going to different shops
-
Meeting new people
-
And, it was just like non-stop like: "Go go go" for me
-
Eventually, I started getting tired and I started wanting to slow things down, stay inside more
-
And, I also partially realized that it was just not sustainable for me
-
Like, the goals that I want to achieve
-
and how I want to improve myself over the course of the next year
-
So, while it was really fun it was just a lot to handle
-
and it was a nice way to get to know the city
-
But, I think I'm at the point where I really want to focus that energy back on myself
-
and focus on my career, making myself a better person, and just the friendships that I have right now
-
Life is slowing down for me for sure
-
and you know the homesickness is coming in
-
But, over the next couple of weeks, I have a lot of exciting things coming
-
This is like a little sliver of a break that I'm going to have before things really pick up again
-
So, I'm taking it to rest a little bit
-
You know, develop myself
-
Invest that time and energy back into myself
-
After this week, I'm just very happy with where I'm currently at
-
and I want to continue building this routine and this lifestyle for myself here
-
I hope you guys enjoyed this video
