-
- Hello everyone and
-
Happy New Year!
-
Adriene here.
-
This is your first Find What
Feels Good members vlog
-
of the new year.
-
How are we doing?
-
Thank you so much for tuning in.
-
As you experience this vlog,
I'd love to invite you to just
-
take a deep breath
in wherever you are.
-
And a long breath out.
-
And know that right
now in this moment,
-
I am sending you
my best wishes
-
for a beautiful 2024.
-
That's right, we have
kicked off the new year,
-
hopefully together.
-
And if not on the mat yet,
-
maybe this will be
a lovely motivation,
-
a little gentle loving push
-
in that direction
if that serves you.
-
If not, I'm just so grateful
that you're here to connect
-
with me through this
moment here with the vlog and
-
hopefully through some
other content here on the app.
-
It will be very difficult for
me to make this vlog about
-
anything other than the
current 30 Day Yoga Journey
-
however.
-
So most of you are probably
aware that we have a brand new
-
30 Day Yoga Journey that
is releasing as we speak.
-
Many of you are in the
first week of this rollout.
-
And if you're not yet,
-
it is not too late
to join the community,
-
join the parade
and hop along Cassidy
-
because this
is like the first week,
-
so you still have an
opportunity to dive in and
-
kind of practice in
real time as we like to say.
-
There's nothing like
doing this program in real time,
-
meaning as it's uploading,
-
as it's rolling out.
-
So there's just
something that's kind of akin,
-
of course very different,
but for me,
-
kind of like why I think I love
-
live classes and
why I love the theater.
-
And just any gathering of
-
people that becomes sacred
because of the fact that
-
you're doing it in
real time with each other,
-
showing up to be present,
-
and that that collective group
of people makes it what it is.
-
That is like one of my
biggest interests and passions.
-
So I love
gatherings for that reason.
-
And although this is a
virtual gathering, of course,
-
it is pretty cool to do
it in January with everyone,
-
myself included.
-
So, because it's new, right?
-
It's just,
we've never done this before,
-
this exact
configuration of things.
-
And then of course it's
there for you all year long.
-
This opportunity, this gift,
-
this offering
does not expire, go away.
-
So those of you who are new to
-
Yoga With Adriene or
Find What Feels Good,
-
it'll be there
for you all year long
-
and the idea is that you,
-
yes, take the challenge to
do it in January in 30 days,
-
but as I've
said for many years,
-
or do it in 365 days.
-
It's so heartwarming and
-
beautiful to see people
post and share in December,
-
like, "Well, it took me
12 months, but I did it."
-
"By golly, I did the
30 Day Yoga Journey."
-
And then it just depends on
what season of life you're in,
-
right, because there
are also people
-
who I enjoy
seeing their comments,
-
their shares of, you know,
-
they're doing all
of the 30 Days since
-
the very beginning
and that they've really used
-
those as a great opportunity,
-
a little impetus to get back to
the mat and create that daily
-
practice and cultivate that
-
relationship with
at-home yoga that I obivo,
-
obviously believe in to be very
-
powerful and healing
and special and important.
-
I think it's really important
that we take the time and
-
carve out the space
to be with ourselves
-
and to love ourselves
-
and care for
ourselves in an authentic way.
-
And by authentic,
I don't mean like,
-
buzzword authentic,
-
but I mean in a way that
really serves you in the moment.
-
So that's kind of what our
-
whole ethos here in Find What
Feels Good is all about.
-
So on that note,
-
if you haven't
signed up for Flow,
-
a 30 Day Yoga Journey yet,
it's not too late.
-
If you're on your first
week of the journey, yay!
-
High five, awesome work.
-
We have quite a ways to go,
-
but my pro tip for you,
-
and I'm sorry if those of you
who've been in the community
-
for a long time have heard
me say this a million times,
-
but it's just, dude,
-
it's just what it
comes down to is,
-
the hardest part of the whole
-
thing is just
gonna be showing up.
-
So my pro tip for
you is no matter what,
-
no matter how you're feeling,
-
no matter what's
going on in your day,
-
if you are healthy
(laughs) and well enough to,
-
of course, show up.
-
Play the video,
play it from beginning to end,
-
and be there with us,
be there with me,
-
be there with yourself,
take that time,
-
because a
really cool, bomb ass
-
thing that happens in 30
Day Yoga Journey is you realize,
-
yes, it's a
beautiful thing to learn
-
the physical vocabulary
and even the breath technique,
-
and see how that
grows and evolves,
-
changes with the consistency
of showing up every day,
-
but what you also get is a very
-
advanced opportunity to learn
-
or relearn what
yoga's all about.
-
And I could tell
you what that is,
-
but it's almost like you have to
-
experience it for yourself.
-
But for those who are more
-
literal minded and need and
want a little something more,
-
I will just say that you begin
-
to realize that it
really is not about the poses,
-
it's about the time
and the connection
-
and your energy.
-
It's about how you're
connecting to your energy
-
every single day,
which by the way,
-
is what this 30 Day
Yoga Journey is all about.
-
So you may think
it's all about vinyasa,
-
but those who are already a
-
week in have probably realized
by now it's about energy.
-
And I think
that's pretty important.
-
That's a pretty important thing
-
to point our
attention towards right now,
-
especially at the
beginning of the year.
-
Alright, so as a
Find What Feels Good member,
-
you are going to receive in a
-
couple of days after
the upload of this vlog,
-
an opportunity to see
behind the scenes of Flow,
-
A 30 Day Yoga Journey.
-
We've done a couple
of these in the past,
-
and this one's really special.
-
I feel like you get a
great opportunity to go
-
behind the scenes
with us and see how
-
this differs from
regular Yoga With Adriene,
-
and then obviously from
Find What Feels Good app content,
-
because it really is,
it's such a massive project
-
that we really do have to
kind of go out and hunker down,
-
dial it in so that we can do
it the way we want to do it too.
-
And by that,
I mean like with our hearts.
-
(chuckles)
-
So it's really fun peek
behind the curtain, I think.
-
But this one is
also really special,
-
because in this video,
-
I share with you guys,
members first,
-
and I'm sure it'll trickle out
-
beyond the Find What
Feels Good membership soon,
-
soon after but
this is the 10th
-
30 Days, see I'm getting
flustered already,
-
'cause change is hard.
-
This is the 10th 30 Day Yoga
Journey that we've ever done.
-
And so this is, yeah,
-
Flow is the 10th time
we've done this project.
-
And when I was sitting
here before pressing record,
-
trying to think of all the 30
Days that have come before it,
-
I was actually
having a hard time.
-
I was like missing one.
-
(laughs) And I'm like,
-
maybe that is a
sign that says to me,
-
it is time.
-
It is time to
find the next project.
-
And before you panic or
start to get uncomfortable,
-
remember that deep breath we
-
took at the
beginning of this video,
-
take another one and let's pay
-
attention to why this is the
last 30 Day yoga journey, okay?
-
This is the last one,
at least for now,
-
until I'm like,
-
"Oh, I missed that.
Let's go back."
-
But this is such an important
project because it really
-
launched the Yoga With Adriene
community into what it is today.
-
Chris and I started the channel,
-
got hardly any views whilst
-
doing consistent
videos every week.
-
And it was such a beautiful
-
time because we were just
doing it because it was a
-
passion project and
we wanted to experiment.
-
And then in 2015,
-
when we did the
original 30 Day Yoga Journey,
-
which by the way,
was after a 29-day journey that
-
we did off YouTube
that our OG FWFG family,
-
we have actually
FWFG founding members,
-
that's people who
were around for Reboot.
-
They'll remember that.
But in 2015,
-
we did the first 30 Day
Yoga Journey on YouTube,
-
which is basically
we took all of our findings
-
and gatherings
from the Reboot experience,
-
which we poured so
much love into that, you guys.
-
One day maybe we'll do a little
-
docu-style video of maybe all
the 30 Day Yoga Journeys just
-
for us to have here 'cause
it's really fun to think about.
-
And I think you guys would
enjoy hearing all the stories,
-
how far we've come from me
-
going over to
Chris and Hilah's house,
-
working at all
hours of the night,
-
scoring the music myself in
the edit bay for Reboot while
-
Chris was editing all the
other hours of the night.
-
(laughs) You know,
it was like,
-
we still had our day jobs then.
-
So it was really fun.
-
And we didn't
have any equipment.
-
You know, it was like,
-
we'd never done
anything like this before.
-
And at the last moment,
we added a Facebook group for
-
that Reboot program and
-
it became the Find What
Feels Good founding members,
-
which then became an
incredible community,
-
which then has, of course,
grown and grown and grown.
-
And, you know, all the
way 'til we meet here today.
-
But after Reboot,
we did 30 Day Yoga Journey,
-
the first one, the original.
-
And that is really
when we started seeing the
-
community grow
and we started seeing,
-
like, holy moly,
numbers and views and
-
engagement and comments and
stories and making connections
-
with real people that we have
then become friends with and
-
been in community
with now for 10 years.
-
So that was kind of
-
the beginning of us really
-
committing to Yoga With
Adriene in a more robust way.
-
Kind of having this new belief
-
system about what
these videos and what,
-
particularly the 30 Day program
-
could be for us and
do for us as a community.
-
So it's really been
an incredible project.
-
After the 30 Days of Yoga,
the original one,
-
we did a program
called Yoga Camp. (chuckles)
-
That's a 30 Day journey where
-
I bring in all of
these affirmations.
-
Each day as an affirmation.
-
These are all lessons that
my mom passed down to me and
-
so I built them
into physical practice.
-
It's still one of my
favorite 30 Day Yoga Journeys,
-
Yoga Camp.
-
And I was so nervous
too because I was like,
-
"Oh, I'm gonna get eaten alive.
Nobody's gonna like this."
-
They're all gonna think,
-
oh, power of thought,
power of word.
-
But I was like,
but I'm gonna try it
-
anyway 'cause I was feeling,
-
you know,
I was feeling the spark.
-
And it, to this day,
-
ends up being
one of the favorites.
-
So I just think it goes
to show we're all kind of
-
craving those tools deep down,
-
potentially, not everyone.
-
Then we did Revolution,
which I was originally gonna
-
call "Yoga Town" following
-
Yoga Camp and due to
just where we were,
-
particularly in
my country at the time
-
and just all of these things,
I remember being on the phone
-
with Chris, who had a new
baby, and just asking like,
-
"Hey, are you cool if I
change the name of this thing?"
-
We hadn't
started filming it to
-
Revolution and just kind of
like change my whole lesson
-
plan a little bit to
-
accommodate that change
and he was like, "Go for it."
-
So that was Revolution.
-
After that we did True.
-
Then in 2020,
we did 30 Days of Home,
-
which of course that was
when we all went into lockdown.
-
So even I was wondering,
am I clairvoyant?
-
But all jokes aside,
-
that ended up being a
really powerful thing.
-
I was in
New York in January 2020,
-
sharing Home,
the 30 Day Yoga Journey,
-
you know,
on the Today Show and all of
-
these different things and
then not but two months later,
-
we were all stuck at home.
-
So it was really nice to
have that 30 Day Yoga Journey to
-
share with people and
-
just offer a little something.
-
Then in response to 2020,
we had 30 Days of Breath,
-
which is a pretty important
-
30 Day Yoga Journey for me
personally and it was made
-
with a lot of love and
-
just an effort to try
to see people better,
-
to ask myself and the team,
-
like how do we keep showing
up in a way that helps more
-
people feel seen and
how do we do that well?
-
And so, yeah, and then there's
also just like an incredible
-
amount of wonderful
breath technique in that one.
-
Then followed by Move,
-
which is really
about the brain,
-
that 30 Day Yoga Journey is all
-
about kind of the neuroscience
-
behind our practice.
-
Then we did Center
-
and now we're doing Flow
-
and this will be the
last 30 Day Yoga Journey.
-
And it's been 10 years
and I kind of just wanted to
-
take you through
that because again,
-
like I said,
I could hardly remember all of
-
them just right before
I pressed record and I'm not
-
ending the 30 Day Yoga Journey
-
to abandon anyone.
(chuckles)
-
I'm actually doing it so
that myself and the team,
-
we can start to try on new
-
things with you, okay?
-
For you in honor of us
and what we've built here.
-
So instead of doing the same
-
project that we
started 10 years ago,
-
yeah, just changing
it up a little bit,
-
allowing ourselves the time and
the space and the freedom to
-
explore what other
projects we could create,
-
how we could upload
them and offer them,
-
maybe doing more live events,
-
maybe connecting different
-
series with different people
-
or maybe it's a whole other,
-
yeah, I have lots of ideas.
-
I have,
we already have some pretty
-
cool things in the works
specifically for the app,
-
but in terms of yoga for all,
Yoga With Adriene,
-
I think we are not going
anywhere and I think we're
-
still really interested in
how we utilize and offer the best
-
of ourselves to people in
the Yoga with Adriene community
-
and how that continues
and can continue to grow in an
-
exciting and
fresh and beautiful way.
-
And if I don't feel excited or
-
fresh or
beautiful about the project,
-
it's telling me that it
might be time to shift.
-
Now, is this an easy decision?
-
No, especially with this
rolling out right now,
-
I'm like,
"Let's not say this is the
-
"last one and just keep it open."
-
But because this project
-
actually starts
so early in the year,
-
believe it or not,
because it's,
-
we film like 34 videos,
-
I think total,
and all those videos get
-
through edit bay
and we need a location,
-
we carve out the
time and it's just,
-
many of you know already
what a massive project it is,
-
so it really frees up months of
-
our time to make
new things and try to,
-
like yeah,
just try different things on.
-
And, you know,
we can always go back (laughs)
-
if we end up
wanting to do that,
-
which maybe we do.
-
But I think that's one thing
-
I wanted to share with you guys
kind of early on in the
-
journey because maybe it's
-
just enough to
inspire you to go,
-
sorry, inspire you to go,
"You know what?
-
"I wanna do this
one in real time,"
-
in which case,
it's not too late,
-
you can hop in today.
-
I'll put the sign up in the
-
description of this
video just in case,
-
but you know, you guys,
you get an ad free here on the
-
app and we do upload these
videos here a little bit
-
earlier than the YouTube
-
for my friends in the,
-
in the...
-
I was gonna like,
I was gonna bust into an accent
-
there and I just got
tripped up because I was like,
-
I don't wanna do a
bad accent right now,
-
but we upload early for friends
-
in other parts of
the world and yeah, that's it.
-
You heard it,
you heard it from me.
-
This is gonna be
the last one for now.
-
And I can't wait to
create new things with you guys.
-
Because you have
to understand I am
-
blessed to get to work
with other creative people
-
and I really am my best self and
-
feel my best when I'm getting
to be creative and it's been
-
so fun creating
30 Day Yoga Journey.
-
I mean, really, I'm so proud of
Chris and I and I'm so blessed
-
and so proud of the whole team,
-
what we've
cultivated with this project.
-
I know it's
inspired so many people.
-
I know it's inspired other
people to create their
-
journeys and
challenges and you know,
-
when we started,
this just was not happening.
-
So I feel really proud and
happy that we've been able to
-
do this and I'm so excited
about what I hope you guys
-
feel and discover in this
last 30 Day Yoga Journey.
-
You know, I made it knowing
-
all the while that
this was the last one.
-
So to me, it just has,
-
it just has a little bit of,
-
I'm gonna cry,
-
depth, like emotional depth,
-
but also, yeah,
we're talking about energy.
-
And I mean, just think about it.
-
Think about how you feel
when you don't feel in alignment,
-
when you feel out
of whack or off center,
-
out of your flow.
-
You don't have the
energy to do anything.
-
You may have all
these beautiful intentions,
-
but what good is it without
-
that freedom and ease of
-
energy flowing and moving in
-
a balanced manner
to help you, you know,
-
actually play out the
life of your wildest dreams.
-
So I wish that for
you and for all of us.
-
And so I hope to see you on the
mat for Flow and you will get
-
a little behind the scenes and
-
a little bit more of
the why of the story,
-
although I just, (laughs)
-
I don't know how much more
you want after all I just said,
-
but there is a beat
in that video about,
-
is this the final day yoga,
-
is this the final
30 Day Yoga Journey?
-
And now you know.
-
You know the
answer ahead of anyone.
-
So, okay.
-
Let's see. Oh my gosh,
I talked for a long time.
-
New calendar will be
available after the 30 Days.
-
The free yoga
calendars continue.
-
The new uploads
here on the app continue.
-
The only thing that's changing
is instead of spending half
-
the year doing the
30 Day Yoga Journey,
-
I'm gonna be making tons of
new cool stuff for you guys.
-
And then also
continuing to roll out
-
free videos on Yoga
With Adriene YouTube channel.
-
So, yeah, got an
event already on the book.
-
So just stay tuned guys,
stay tuned.
-
I'm gonna do
a little, like, roulette
-
with my friend's book.
-
This is Yung Pueblo's first book
-
that he wrote,
I believe, "Inward".
-
And I'm thinking
maybe in the next vlog,
-
I might share a little
bit about my wedding
-
because some
folks said they were curious.
-
If you're like,
"Mm, great."
-
I promise not to share
too much, but Yung Pueblo,
-
the man behind the pen name
-
Yung Pueblo, actually
officiated our wedding.
-
So it feels sweet to maybe
-
share something from his
first book "Inward" with you.
-
Let's see what we get today.
-
Here we go.
-
This one's on page 139.
-
"Self-love is a sincere
-
"acceptance of the past.
-
"An agreement to make the
most of the present and a
-
"willingness to allow the
best to occur in the future,
-
"wholehearted."
-
"Self-love is a sincere
acceptance of the past.
-
"An agreement to make the
most of the present and a
-
"willingness to allow the
best to occur in the future,
-
"wholehearted."
-
I love that for us right now.
-
I love this for the whole
revealing of the last 30 Days
-
and all my love to you and
-
get on the mat for Flow
and Happy New Year.
-
This is so great.
-
I'll share this, of course, in
the description as I always do.
-
And I wish you a very happy,
gorgeous, beautiful new year.
-
I'm sorry this vlog was so long.
-
I'll try to keep them tight,
tighter in the future.
-
I will see you on the mat and
-
I will see you back
for February's vlog.
-
Don't miss it.
-
Always love hearing from you
in the comment section below
-
and also in the community
tab here on the FWFG app.
-
Thank you so
much for being here.
-
I love ya.
-
Happy New Year!
(blows kiss)
-
Benji cam.
-
I just called
Benji from downstairs.
-
Let's see if he comes.
-
Come on, bud.
(whistles)
-
It's the first Benji cam
-
of the new year.
-
Here he comes, everybody.
-
He's a good guy.
-
He's the sweetest little guy
-
in the world.
-
Say Happy New Year.
-
Hey, bud, Happy New Year.
-
Benji.
-
Happy New Year.
-
We love ya.
We love ya.
-
Happy New Year.
-
That's a good spot.
That's a good spot.
-
Benji cam, everyone.
-
See you on the mat.
-
(gentle version of
"Auld Lang Syne")
