Levels of Faith in the Life of the believer
-
Not Synced
When you face difficulties and trials
-
Not Synced
and hardships in life,
-
Not Synced
how do you respond? Do you respond
-
Not Synced
with doubt and fear and anxiety and fretting
-
Not Synced
or do you respond by faith?
-
Not Synced
And if you respond by faith, what level of faith?
-
Not Synced
You say what do you mean by "What level of faith?"
-
Not Synced
That's right, what level of faith?
-
Not Synced
You say, "Well, how do you know what these levels are?"
-
Not Synced
Well we're going to talk about it.
-
Not Synced
How do you distinguish one from the other?
-
Not Synced
What does it mean in my life?
-
Not Synced
How does it affect my life?
-
Not Synced
Speaking of levels of faith, well we all operate
-
Not Synced
on one of three levels of faith.
-
Not Synced
And the older we are the more faith we ought to have
-
Not Synced
That's how we ought to go in our faith.
-
Not Synced
But some people will stay all of their lives on the lowest level because
-
Not Synced
Number one, maybe they don't even know that there are levels of faith.
-
Not Synced
Secondly, too afraid to launch out. Too
-
Not Synced
fearful to trust God. And so what happens is
-
Not Synced
you go through life and you miss His best
-
Not Synced
because you never grow in your faith.
-
Not Synced
And that's what I am going to talk
about in this message, and that is the
-
Not Synced
levels of faith in the life
of the believer.
-
Not Synced
And it is very evident in scripture
that faith is very, very important
-
Not Synced
in the eyes of God, and that He sees
-
Not Synced
faith as very important in our life.
-
Not Synced
And so, what we want to talk
about in this message
-
Not Synced
is this: How to raise your faith level.
-
Not Synced
How to get in a position, where you and
your relationship to God, or
-
Not Synced
the way you trust Him will position you, listen,
to be blessed to the maximum
-
Not Synced
of your potential because
-
Not Synced
the way you trust Him determines
the way the blessings come.
-
Not Synced
You don't trust Him? You
don't get blessed.
-
Not Synced
You trust Him? You get blessed.
-
Not Synced
And the more you trust Him, and
the way that you are able
-
Not Synced
walk in these levels of faith,
-
Not Synced
the greater the blessings that
come in your way.
-
Not Synced
Think about how absolutely
essential and important faith is.
-
Not Synced
And let's think about it in this light:
-
Not Synced
If you look at the life of Jesus,
look at His ministry,
-
Not Synced
here is what you discover. You discover
-
Not Synced
that the theme of faith permeated
the whole ministry
-
Not Synced
of Jesus. No matter what.
-
Not Synced
And I want to give you a few
verses of scripture ...
-
Not Synced
Now, I won't have you turn to all
of these because
-
Not Synced
I have enough of them for you to turn to.
-
Not Synced
But I want you to think about some
of these verses for example,
-
Not Synced
you find in the scriptures concerning
-
Not Synced
His healing ministry. Listen to what
-
Not Synced
He is continually saying, when He's
confronting people,
-
Not Synced
whether they are paralyzed, whether they are blind,
-
Not Synced
or whatever the situation may be.
-
Not Synced
Listen, for example, in Matthew 9
-
Not Synced
He says to this lady, "Daughter, your
faith has made you well."
-
Not Synced
Then in Matthew 15, "O woman, your
faith is great;
-
Not Synced
be it done unto you as you wish."
-
Not Synced
And in the second chapter of Mark. When
these fellas are
-
Not Synced
tearing up the roof of this man's house and letting
-
Not Synced
their friend down by ropes,
-
Not Synced
so they could finally get to Jesus
and be healed,
-
Not Synced
Jesus said to them seeing their faith,
-
Not Synced
"Son, your sins are forgiven.
-
Not Synced
Then he says in Mark 10 to the blind beggar,
-
Not Synced
"Go your way, your faith has made you whole."
-
Not Synced
And again He says, your faith has saved you. Receive
-
Not Synced
your sight. Your faith has made you well.
-
Not Synced
Be it done unto you according to your faith.
-
Not Synced
All through the gospels, Matthew, Mark,
-
Not Synced
and Luke especially, what you find
-
Not Synced
is Jesus- the theme of his relationship
-
Not Synced
to this people, this needy people,
-
Not Synced
who have a health problem,
whatever it might be
-
Not Synced
it's always, listen, based on their faith.
-
Not Synced
Remember he said on one occasion?
-
Not Synced
He couldn't do any miracles in a particular place because of their unbelief.
-
Not Synced
They didn't have any faith. They wouldn't trust Him.
-
Not Synced
And often times, you and I miss out on God's best blessings
-
Not Synced
because we won't trust Him.
-
Not Synced
We don't believe that He loves us.
-
Not Synced
We don't believe that he will provide our needs. We don't
-
Not Synced
believe that He will heal us. We don't believe
-
Not Synced
that He cares that much for us.
-
Not Synced
But if you look at His ministry, what
was he continually saying?
-
Not Synced
It was, listen, it was trust Him. Faith, faith, faith, faith, faith.
-
Not Synced
So if that's true in His ministry in His day,
-
Not Synced
if it was so important that he magnified the subject of faith,
-
Not Synced
nothing's changed. Because, you see, in our lifestyle
-
Not Synced
in our life times, in the culture in which we live,
-
Not Synced
It makes no difference in what generation or what culture
-
Not Synced
Faith permeates every aspect of our life.
